Today Monday 6/8/2026 was my first visit with my pup and daughter's pup. We covered approximately 3.5 miles hopping from trail to trail. The weather was phenomenal and the forest very pleasant. Sessions Woods is a nature preserve on 700 acres of land with trails and an education exhibit. Trails are open from sunrise to sunset; the exhibit is open 8:30-4 Monday-Friday. There were four trails to choose from; Beaver Pond, Forest Meadow, Tree ID, and Crosscut Trail. The parking lot was large. On this visit, I completed the Forest Meadow Trail. The trail was a 0.6-mile loop trail. There were informational signs throughout; they were kind of faded and old. The trail was easy and peaceful; I noticed quite a few boulders. There was only one other person we walked by on the trail. I was being vigilant about bears and ticks. There were quite a few benches which was a nice since my toddler enjoyed resting on them. I saw that the other trail had boardwalks; I look forward to coming back to check that out.

They have SO MANY fun events just look in Bristol Park and Rec webpage... For example, they have music every Tuesday throughout the summer in the outdoor amphitheater. They have Muzzy field adjacent to the parking lot and there are games of all kinds with fireworks afterward. They have seasonal events, including visits from Santa in Mrs. Rockwells pavillion. Also, there is a skateboard cement park that was professionally designed by pro skaters.... A frisbee disc golf course on one end AND a dog park!!! I can't say enough of good things about Rockwell Park...I absolutely Love this local spot.

Doing some research online, I came across this park. It's nice to see what the Hudson Valley offers…read morefor its park! Parking can be limited at times, so the best time to go is early in the day. There are multiple paths that anyone can take, but for our convenience, we did the red and yellow path (those are the main ones). Other paths are found along the trails. Some of the markings can be unclear along the way, so keep an eye out on that. It's best to follow the dirt path at all times. Be aware, most of it is windy. The fire tower wasn't what we expected. As we approached near the top, there were a lot of bees on the railing. The view is excellent from where we stopped, but not enough to fulfill a hiker. Another thing is to watch out for is bugs. There is a lot of shady spots on each path, therefore, I strongly recommend bringing bug spy. Something I learned too. As long as you look at the map, there won't be any problems.

Dinning hall with functional industrial kitchen, BarBQ pits, campfire pits, game hall, baseball field, basket ball court, horse shoe game, and water to fish (great catches!). The A-OK is because the park is being upgraded, and the current condition does not make me a fan... yet! However the service we received from Camp Cedarcrest was phenomenal, you guys are awesome!

It was hosted by a Bangladeshi group who actually come every year for their annual picnic. And they keep coming back to the same place years after years . Which gives you all an idea how pretty, peaceful this place is. And I might add that it is very highly maintained, I appreciate all the hard work by the employees! I did got mad with people for being messy in the restrooms ! And also wish there are multiple restrooms around the area. Because I have seen people stand in line just to use it. There is enough space for it. I have also seen people were jet skewing & looked so much fun. Some of the ladies were saying there is an area where you can actually go to the water , I am looking forward to that next year ! If you live in queens , it's a place you definitely gotta visit . It took us only an hour by bus, so for a family gathering it's perfect. Kids were having so much fun.

I came here for kayaking. This beautiful, scenic lake is clean, and circling the lake is an enjoyable 9-mile paddle. From the water, you can take in the scenic hills that surround the lake, or view some of the waterfront gorgeous homes. This state park is well worth checking out.
