White Buffalo Grille is a great alternative to buffet food and long buffet lines! Our family (5 of us) dined there Sunday 7/23/17 to celebrate a family member's birthday. Set in a beautiful atmosphere with fantastic views, food was outstanding, all staff were friendly and our waiter Kevin took good care of us from start to finish as he managed other large groups of diners. I want to thank the White Buffalo Grille staff for making the birthday celebration a very relaxing experience allowing our family time to talk, joke, laugh and have a truly good time. I HIGHLY recommend the White Buffalo Grille and will be returning soon! read more

We are long time customers of the WBG. We were there for this past Valentine's Day and noticed a definite improvement in service and the overall experience. Something has changed! We were becoming somewhat disappointed in the never changing menu and the increasingly disinterest of the wait staff. lately, there has been a definite improvement, the meal we had for V Day was really wonderful. I especially enjoyed the smaller portions made with more care. The cucumber and shredded lettuce salad was wonderful and showed a lot of thought. read more

We came here on a Monday and it was absolutely delicious! I got the crab stuffed shrimp with brussel sprouts and pork belly Mac and cheese. My boyfriend got the sirloin with asparagus and mashed potatoes. Everything was perfectly cooked and delicious! Our waiter, Steven was incredible. He was attentive and enjoyable. If you're in Black Hawk this is a must try. Also, the dishes come with two sides plus a choice of soup or salad so you will definitely leave full! read more

We have been regulars at White Buffalo for a couple of years, and overall, it is one of the area's best restaurants. The service is always excellent, although the kitchen can get a bit backed up on even marginally busy nights. They changed Colorado's best Caesar salad dressing when they completed the recent makeover, and the result is not good. What was once a 10 now resembles store bought bottled dressing. Other than going back to the original dressing, this is a great restaurant. read more

Steaks were awesome! Prices were high I thought, but the meal was good! Our server was not so good...when paying 100.00 for a nice steak meal, please make sure the guests do not leave their table leaving a dirty plate! I have waited MANY MANY tables, that is the biggest no no there is, especially in a fine dining establishment! Our waiter has a lot to learn! I will give him a break this time, but Nick needs to learn quickly, when waiting tables, leave nothing but water glasses on the table when the guests leave! (And maybe a napkin) read more

I would not even rate this restaurant one star!! My husband and I came here for dinner and spent over $100 for just the two of us, we expected the food to be phenomenal due to their pricey meals. We both decided on the beef medallions with crab legs and asparagus in a béarnaise sauce, sounds terrific right? This was absolutely dreadful! The meat was undercooked and far beyond chewy - in just a bite you will chew for eternity. We both spat it out and tried the crab which was incredibly grainy and overcooked. The asparagus were mushy, side dishes were old and ridden with garlic. I strongly believe their kitchen needs to be checked out and feel they are serving rotten food!! Did we eat our meal, absolutely not!! When our waiter came to give us the check we told him how horrible our dinner was and it was simply un-edible. He responded with a nice, "I am sorry about that", laid down the bill and walked away. I've never been so insulted! DO NOT, I repeat do not waste any of your valuable money in this restaurant OR even this casino!! It is old, rotten, smelly and unfriendly!! There are wonderful restaurants just across the street at Ameristar and I promise you won't regret eating there - 120% difference in the quality and friendliness! White Buffalo, you should be absolutely ashamed of yourselves!!! read more

I just had a superb meal. Crab cakes were great. Caesar salad was very good and the "tornados oscar" was wonderful.. Best fine dining in Blackhawk read more

The food was spectacular! Ask for James for a great experience. Even if you don't win in the casino you will win big in the restaurant.

I usually don't write these reviews, I am a sommelier and I just love good food. There were some particular things that I want to give props to the chef and the staff for. First off, I went here for Valentine's day with my mother, we don't get to spend much time so it was important to me. Our service from being sat to being brought the bill was perfect, even though I saw some people giving the servers some hell. Let me remark that those egg noodles in my mother's dish were cooked to perfection along with the very rich saucy seafood mix, it was wonderful. My red snapper had a beurre blanc that was perfect, it was out of this world, it wasn't overly saucy like they tend to be it was perfection like a beurre blanc is meant to be. The wine selection was wonderful and I even asked for something off the menu (lambrusco) and they brought it to me, although I do think the staff needs a little more training on wine (but that's just some bs criticism from a wine professional). The desert was fabulous, you could tell the chef made everything from the puff pastry to the lambrusco demiglaze.... it was the best stuffed pastry I ever had, and I confess I ate most of it, thank god my mom was full. I hope we left them with enough continuity and appreciation. This STAFF IS FIRE. From the chef, to the like 14 year old boy bussing our tables, it was wonderful. Thank you. read more

The White Buffalo is my favorite place in Blackhawk to eat. Besides the classy surroundings and linen table cloths, the food is always delicious and there is plenty of it. Their servers take care of your every need. It's a wonderful place to celebrate or just have a quiet dinner! read more

Best restaurant in Blackhawk. I had the salmon - delicious, and my husband had the top sirloin. Everything was wonderful, including the salads and side dishes. Beautiful setting and great service. read more

Must have been here during an off night as we all tend to have occasionally. Steak was sent back twice and definitely overcooked by my standards. Gf ordered the seafood and it was served cold not lukewarm cold! Don't know where they get the bread but they should definitely make their own cuz it sucked. A bit overpriced compared to what you get at Ameristar. Will definitely give them another shot next time we're up due to Ameristar getting worse by the month. read more

The White Buffalo is by far our favorite place to eat in BlackHawk. One of my appetizers to start is the shrimp! They are HUGE and sweet. You also cannot go wrong with any salad choice as they make their dressings in house. My favorite entrees are the Filet ( you can almost cut with a fork and always a nice cut ) The Chicken Piccata on mashed potatoes is my second favorite. I often times go back and forth a few times before the waiter comes to take my order. The fish is also very good. The staff is always wonderful and we like to tip and thank the Chefs as we have NEVER had anything but perfection at this restaurant. I get sad when the only times we can get up the mountain are the nights they are closed. My stay up the hill is not the same without dinner here. read more

SNOOTY SERVICE. As we walked up to the hostess she told us (before we could say anything) that " this isn't the buffet" . ...obviously... she asked us twice if we had coupons...no... Attempted to take my family of 6 there for my grandma's 70th and didn't even go in the restaurant because she was made to feel not worthy. read more

Me and my wife ordered the bone in rib eyes hers thick and well prepared my looked like a steak you would get at eye hop or Denny's thin and did not taste right not what a 45 dollar steak should look like read more

The food is delicious, as always. The service not so delicious. After being seated, we were approached by a very personable young man who chatted with us and filled our water glasses. The three of us then decided on the crab cakes appetizer and placed our orders for dinner. Our soups and salads were served and we wondered where our appetizer was. We had to ask our wait person to bring it to our table. Our salmon, lamb chops, and steak were cooked to perfection and scrumptuous. The cilantro/lime rice side was ok, but probably won't be ordered again. Our wait person was not very attentive in that we had to ask for water refills four different times when we finally got her attention. Kudos to the chef and others preparing the meals, though. Perhaps the restaurant manager should add more wait people. The are understaffed. read more

Me and my fiancé and a couple of friends were up in Black Hawk this weekend, we asked around the casinos where the best food was, everyone gave us the same answer...all the buffets are amazing and the white buffalo grille is quite good as well. Saturday night the buffet lines were so long we figured it would probably be quicker to get into a restaurant so we went to the white buffalo grille. There was a sign on the hostess counter that said "reservations strongly suggested", but looking into the restaurant there were so many open tables and serving staff standing around, after waiting a few minutes the hostess finally came and greeted us at the hostess stand. We asked how long it would be for a table of 4, she quoted us an hour which would have got is in at 9:30. When one person from our party asked why there were so many open tables she replied in an extremely rude way "those are reserved which would be why it says we suggest reservations". I was baffled considering I have previously been a hostess at a high end restaurant, there are nicer ways to talk to people and explain reserved tables (if that's what the empty tables really were). My fiancé tried to ask her a question about a reservation she rolled her eyes and rudely expressed that she made us one for an hour away as if she was pushing us off and we were bothering her. Needless to say we went to the Timberline Grill in Ameristar where the hostess were very nice and friendly and seated us at the next available open table because of our awful experience at White Buffalo. After contacting the manager at White Buffalo the next day just to let her know the service her high end restaurant had she told me that the systems went down and they had a rough night which is very understandable but they could have communicated that with us and even though the hostess had a bad night she could have handled the situation a bit better. The manager blamed the hostess attitude of the system problem and didn't really seem to want to make the experience right other than buying us an appetizer. We will never be returning to the White Buffalo Grille, I'm sure the food is as good as it's cracked up to be but service and management are lacking. read more

I ate at the white buffalo last week. the food was alright but the steak was over done. I was asked by the waiter how everything was and I replied " the steak was over done. I ordered medium and it was very well done." The waiter returned with a small flashlight to check the color of the steak, even though it was still daylight and I was sitting by a window, I found this insulting. My two friends ordered the fillet and both were over done . To top it all off Yesterday I talked to my friend who paid for the meal and he stated he got a notice from his credit card that he was charged four times for the meal. He is now having to fight with this mess. I would avoid the White buffalo and save your money for a better steak at Outback. read more

We just left this place and have very little nice things to say! We ordered the Harmony ranch Wagyu NY strip and King Crab legs. Crab legs were delicious however the steak was chewy, little flavor, and could hardly be cut with a steak knife. We love(and will pay) for a great steak however there is no way this was Wagyu and at 70 dollars for a 12 ounce steak not worth anywhere close to that. The sides were ok but not great. This was our first trip to Blackhawk and we will not be going back to this restaurant. We did however love our dinner the night before at the Timberline inside the Ameristar. read more

Just want people to go to eat at the White Buffalo grille in Blackhawk Co. The service is amazing the food is oh so Yummy. But the best of all was our waitress Desiree she is amazing always with a smile on her face and brings a warm feeling to you. Thank you so much. read more

I have been dining here for many years, and I have always had great service. You do need to make a reservation as this is fine dining and not a buffet. I have never encountered rude servers or a nasty hostess as others have claimed. The food has always been great, and we have always had a wonderful time. I highly recommend for a romantic dinner and for large parties. They ask if you have coupons because they do send them to players from $30 - $50 off dinner. Great place to eat and we will continue to go back time and time again. read more

Tournedos and surf and turf were outstanding. The steaks are incredibly tender and tasty. We enjoyed our waiter, Kevin. Highly recommend this if you are in Black Hawk read more

A step up for the area and appreciated the décor. The food was good with one exception and perhaps oversight on our server. All was going great, good wine, appetizer, etc. However we waited quite awhile for our main dish and thankfully the couple next to us kept us entertained. When my steak arrived I decided to check its temperature. Slightly warm and what I guessed it had sat on the counter for some time. I decided not to say anything and cause any negativity to a nice evening. read more

Great food, excellent service and the best view in Black Hawk, the manager, Jenny, and host staff were very welcoming, the bartender, Patti, was very attentive as were the servers, especially Liana and Kevin! Loved my lamb chops and the carrot cake is amazing! Shared the tuna and crab cake apps, recommend both, my boyfriend's voodoo shrimp was also delicious, definitely highly recommend! read more

The only thing in Blackhawk, CO that we enjoy more than the White Buffalo Grille, is to be served by Kevin at the White Buffalo Grille. We dined last Friday and from the caprese salad, to the excellant coffee with carrot cake everything was perfect again. My wife had the fillet and I the honey bourbon salmon, and both were excellent! If you are in Blackhawk and have never tried the White Buffalo Grille I know that you won't be disappointed, and you'll probably make it your number one spot for fine dining in the city of Blackhawk too. read more

My husband and I have been eating at the White Buffalo Grille for at least 10 years and at least 75 times. We enjoy the quiet ambience and views. In all of those visits only twice did we find the service or food not up to par and our concerns were addressed by management. The remaining times food and service is outstanding. We find the prime rib, king crab legs, lamb, shrimp and fillet medallions are scrumptious. Only once did we have prime rib & lobster that needed to be sent back to the chef. For sides we feast on sauteed mushrooms and asparagus. Salads and dressings are ample and tasty. My favorite is the French onion soup. My husband finds all of the soups delicious. Our favorite dessert is the New York style cheese cake. In addition, we enjoy the exquisite Thanksgiving dinner that the White Buffalo chefs prepare. Considering the ambience, quality of the food, and service we feel the White Buffalo is an outstanding value. read more

Took my wife to eat at The White Buffalo for her birthday Saturday April 6th. We didn't have reservations so we had to wait a while to get in. Once we got in and was seated we overlooked the street from our table which was nice. The waitress was very slow getting to our table to take our order. We had the crab cakes which were delicious and so was the buffalo burger, highly recommend. Food was slow to get to us but it was worth the wait, took way too long to get the bill as well. Unfriendly staff but the food was decent. They need to work on their customer service skills but the food was ok. read more

We visited the White Buffalo Grille again this past weekend and got the best waiter - JAMES (and assistant Desiree). Each of us ordered something different and all four meals were superbly prepared, presented and served. Relaxing atmosphere, polite host and the best waiter we've had anywhere! Saturday night August 5,2017 I took my son and his girlfriend for my son's birthday to the White Buffalo Grille for dinner, which was surprising they could go since both of them are police officers and normally working. Anyway I was charged the full amount on my credit card different from what my receipt showed. Total bill was $111.81 my receipt was for $66.81 cash tip and a $30.00 coupon. On top of that my son had the lamb chops and one was nothing but fat but he would not complain for fear they would do something to his food. I called and spoke to the manager Mr. Sutton he said he would get it straighten out. I faxed what I had. Today I checked my account and I did not get what my receipt shows. The waitress took off the cheese cake and small sundae for my son's birthday and Mr. Sutton had it put back on. They should honor my receipt and make the waitress pay for what she took off if it wasn't okay for her to remove them. What a rip-off...Never again.... read more
