The place was clean and just the right size for my wife and I. Being city folks you forget how dark it is out in the country at nights. It was nice. We signed up for these adventures to make the weekend even more fun: 1. Feed baby kangaroo(Bodhi). This was about a 30 minute session where we got to feed him a bottle and kibble. It really was an amazing experience. 2. Bucket of food and self guided feeding of animals. We walked the property and hid to feed so many animals. All of the animals were friendly toward people. They were all very good motivated. We encountered a giraffe, donkeys, zebras, horses, cows, pigs, dwarf steers, camels, emu, deer, buffalo and more. The animals were often trying to bully their way to the front of the line. The cow Oreo who has not skipped a meal was always front of the line. 3. Afternoon safari ride in ATV. This was a fun ride around the property. Did not see any new animals but had a great time. The cows out at pasture were thrilled to be fed. 4. Giraffe encounter and meal. This was a little expensive but I would spend it again. The giraffes were super friendly and personable. We wanted to take them home because they were so much fun. The guide, experience and never felt rushed made this worth it. Our guide was top notch. I think her name was Jackie but could be wrong.

We got so lucky to have a bunch of rain before our stay and the kids played in the creek all weekend, chasing frogs and crayfish. Waterfall was incredible. Cabin was super clean, with great amenities we didn't expect - just perfect. The owners were over the top sweet and even texted us pics of the kids playing in the creek. Of course we did the Fossil Rim trip and Dinosaur Valley stop while we were here. We will 100% make this an annual visit.

All of the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, and there were plenty of activities to do across the property. I tried my hand at archery, axe throwing, and lasso (among other things for the first time), and the team there were patient and friendly throughout it all. My accommodations were great, I appreciated little touches like the eye mask and earplugs, and I also enjoyed the food as well. I had left multiple phone messages, shot emails trying to secure rooms and surf sessions and it was a complete pain in the ass. I will say somebody started sending me text messages, but that was as far as I got to actually talking to somebody . There are no photos on their website of the rooms, no menus for the restaurants, Slab barrel season will set you back over $1500 to $3000 for an hour unless you can get a bunch of friends to go with you because it's a private session. The only thing I was able to book in three weeks were the hotel rooms. Oh and if you send multiple emails, you will get a email stating that emails are returned in the order they are received which means if you send additional emails you're gonna get kicked to the back of the line. I ended up canceling that because I couldn't secure any surf sessions and they were quickly going away. I also read some other reviews and I couldn't risk flying all the way from California to Waco surf hoping I was gonna have a good time. Maybe if their customer service was better, website provided more information, or you were able to talk to a live human being I might have been able to book everything a few weeks ago, but that wasn't the case.

There is a gas grill outside and we grilled steaks and sat around the fire pit. We brought some movies to watch since there is a DVD player. The hot water never runs out so it was nice to take a long hot shower. Nice weekend getaway. Would definitely stay here again!
