We gave them one last chance today since we are local and it took way too long for the food to come out and when it did it was cold and the pancake wasn't cooked through. My wife and I both had burgers and fries. I had the Bosque Burger, which is HUGE with all the fixins on it. The taste was good, but difficult to eat without a knife and fork. Well, impossible to eat without a knife and fork. My wife raved about the taste of her burger. We had the fried jalapeno bites for an appetizer and we cleaned then out. They were also very good. Bosque resort restaurant, meh. I ordered the sautéed chicken dinner with green beans and Mac n cheese. My husband ordered the steak with a loaded baked potato and green beans. Both orders came out cold. The gravy on the chicken is some bitter water with flavor, also Luke warm. Our amazing waitress, Ashley recommended the Mac n cheese so I ordered that. It's gross. No flavors on anything. The best part were the lukewarm warm green beans and some of my husband's steak. His loaded baked potato was an extra $2 on top of the over priced $33 steak that you can get much cheaper (and better) at any Texas Road House. This place is a one and done unfortunately. Terrible service and mediocre food. I wish there was anything positive to say about our two experiences but both times were a disappointment. I've worked service industry in a lot of positions.. Bartender, server, host, management. Not one employee looked like they were in a rush which was unusual given I saw at least 2 tables looking for a server and way too many empty drinks. I'm not sure I've had a worse margarita. Anyone can whip up Sysco and Ben E Keith food, at least make sure the atmosphere and service are good. read more

Mediocre at best, we had the fish and chips and a chicken sandwich. Wilted and brown lettuce on the sandwich, and lukewarm fries. Fish was okay, but nothing special, same lukewarm fries. Not many people, but slow service. We called this a "one and done" stop. The West Shore Grill is much better, but only open Thursday through Sunday. read more

This is a motel NOT a resort. The water park is closed. It was probably a hit in its day. Looks like the property is being sold. They do have a swimming pool. The motel is old but ok. It has some small quirks. Most of the lightbulbs did not work. Everything was unplugged. The toilet is too close to the tub so you have to sit sideways. The kitchen lightbulb was hidden by a dishwashing brush. Pro's: it's close to the lake, bed, sofa & living space was comfortable. Nice to have a fridge and freezer that works great. The staff was very friendly. The ac worked well in our unit but slightly noisy. You could hear a little road noise in the morning but not too bad. The restaurant is good and on the same property. Not much healthy options in this area. Seems like lots of locals eat here. Overall ok. read more

Let me first say the food was good and our service was good. Our group called ahead and reserved the party room because we thought the number we had may have been difficult to seat if they were busy. We had 18 total. When we arrived the restaurant was empty as it was mid afternoon and there was a storm. I requested consideration for the "party room rental fee" - which was $75. I spoke with the manager and she refused to consider anything other than we sat in the party room and should pay for having a wall between us and the dining room. As a side note- I own a restaurant myself and don't believe everyone thinks like a business owner in a business where customer repeat business is essential to profitability. My guess is this manager believed it was necessary to get the extra $75 because the $300 in food and the $150+ in alcohol was not enough. We all live in the area and loved coming to lake Whitney ...but we will not stop at the Bosque Resort for meals next time. read more

Place was great the football game was on so we sat at the bar had a bite to eat drank a beer, decided to stay the night. The accommodations were not that great outdated and the beds were not that comfortable. One night was fine two nights I would have had to take a day off work to rest up from my rest up. For the restaurant only: I've made 7 trips to this restaurant and have had something different every time. Every time it has been amazing. Bosque burger, catfish, chicken fried steak, sirloin steak, shrimp, and chicken fingers with gravy. Every time I've gone, I've tried a different type of pie: coconut, key lime, cheesecake, cobbler, reese's, cheesecake again, and a chocolate/raspberry cheesecake with oreo crust. The food has been great and consistent. However, what has made it an even better experience has been our server: Rose. She kicks butt and takes names, no questions about it. She deserves every bit of a raise and management in the near future. If everyone had the same attitude and worth ethic as Rose, you'd have a full restaurant every day. read more

I stayed here one night while in the area to close on a house. The staff couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating. The drinks were nice and the green beans were certainly to die for! Bosque lake park is an oasis in the cedars. They did a great job making a man made river float. It takes about 20 minutes to float, but you can make multiple trips. They offer 3 tube slides. There is a man made lake area with a swim up bar that offers nachos,burgers , fries, chicken nuggets etc. There is also beer and a full bar. Credit cards and cash accepted. No in and out accepted, but there are small lockers available for rent. Small cabanas available for rent. Water volleyball court, first come first serve. We stayed at the motel yesterday and were appalled by a few things. As soon as I went into the bathroom I noticed little bits of something on the floor like it hadn't been swept. The bath rug/towel was wrinkled and stiff like it was not washed and hung on the side of the tub from another guest's stay. There was no soap or shampoo. There were several long hairs in the bathtub. We knew the trashcan had not been emptied because there were empty shampoo bottles in it. We will not return. read more

Yes, it has been feast & famine...Slowly improving. The strawberry salad is pretty good. And, for the price the senior meals are ok. Really if you are in Whitney...There is not much choice. Mostly Mexican food& Anything fried. The service is really way better here than anywhere. Staff has been coached to make you feel like they care. Bosque Resort Restaurant is easily my favorite place in the area. They have had a bit of inconsistency, but recently the chef has been putting great new burgers on the menu. The existing items have been good that I have had and tasted on others' plates. I have tasted a pretty solid amount of their items. Some are very good (Hawaiian burger). Some things aren't quite as great (like most restaurants). Decent selection of side dishes including sweet potato fries, corn, and onion rings (I don't love the regular fries but that is just my preference, my wife likes them just fine). Salad bar is large and good. Soups are rotated and some are fantastic. I haven't had any bad ones myself. The wait staff has always been good. They are sometimes a bit slow but not overly bad. They also have a free-to-play arcade cabinet with many classic arcade games. Fun times for the kids. read more

I was very disappointed with the service my friend and I received at your restraunt Sunday evening. We arrived at approximately 7:30pm. First, we sat at the bar for a few minutes and was totally ignored. We decided to go back and stand by the door and ask for "table". Ater a couple of minutes , finally a young girl came up to seat us. We asked for a table, she instantly tried sitting us at a booth. We asked our waitress for water and a mararita each and to please bring the water right away because we were hot from riding our bikes. The lady finally brought our water and asked if we wanted to order an appetizer. We ordered chips, cheese and salsa. When she brought them back we place our food order (off of the appetizer menu) we ordered 2 orders of boneless wings and 1 order of onion ring. They had a large party that was sitting close to us and they were receiving their meals as we ordered ours. We sat talking and eating our chips for a while and realized it was taking a long time to just get wings and rings. The waitress came by and was flipping her book and stoped and said she was sorry but she had forgotten to turn our order in. We asked for more salsa while we waited and she said she would put a rush on the meals. She brought out the salsa and more chips about 5 minutes later. After about another 20 minutes we were still waiting. She came around again and we asked why it was taking so long. She went to the kitchen and then brought our food. By this time we had filled up on chips and dips and we couldn't eat the whole meal. When she brought out our tickets, together it was approximately $50. We sont mi d pzying for what we ordered but this was for 2 margaritas chips and salsa ( they charged more for extra salsa) chicken wings and an order of onion rings. I asked to speak to the manager, she said ok but he was also the cook and it may take a few minutes. To me, a few minutes is 10 at the most! We waited a while and she came back and said she took the onion rings off and bragged that it was $5. I said WOW and just shook my head. I told her we still wanted to speak to the him. We waited and waited and he never came out. She gave the excuse he was cooking for a large party. At this time, the ONE large party that was there were just lingering and exchanging gifts and were leaving little by little. There were 3 other tables taken. One table had a couple that were already eating, the other had 4 people and were just getting their orders taken by a different waitress and another table of 2 just waiting. We were at the restaurant for an hour and a half for a 30 minutes stop, tops! We were furious to say the least! I asked the waitress where this big party was and she tried using the excuse of the one that was now leaving. So, if this is how your company treats PAYING guests then you're doing something wrong. I would think that the manager could have taken a lousy 2 minutes out of the kitchen to address a problem. I will say this, neither of us will ever step foot in your establishment again. We both live in Waco and travel to, and stay at the lake quite often. So...I dont know if they had to kill and clean the chickens before they were cooked or what, but this was our first and LAST time to eat at the restaurant. read more
