We stumbled across this place online. I don't even know where to begin. Best vacation we've had in a long time. We got so lucky to have a bunch of rain before our stay and the kids played in the creek all weekend, chasing frogs and crayfish. Waterfall was incredible. Cabin was super clean, with great amenities we didn't expect - just perfect. The owners were over the top sweet and even texted us pics of the kids playing in the creek. Of course we did the Fossil Rim trip and Dinosaur Valley stop while we were here. We will 100% make this an annual visit. read more

We have stayed at these cabins for years now and never had any issues. However, we stayed last weekend and there was a terrible storm Sunday night that knocked out power to the entire town overnight.We spent an uncomfortable night without power (hot) and being woken by the beds creaking loudly every time someone moved (bathroom door squeaked as well). The storm damaged the roof and shingles were everywhere the next morning. I filled out and left a comment card the next morning letting them know that the night was not the best due to no electricity, etc and also mentioned my frustration with being charged extra for the kids (which had not occurred the last few years). I did suggest they add a backup generator. I was a little irritated as we spent $191 a night to be super uncomfortable and not sleep. However, I did not ask for a refund, include anything personal in my comments, or post anything online. We left the cabin that morning after making sure (by flashlight) that it was clean and we had all our belongings. As always, I made sure the dishes were done, trash taken out, and bundled all used linen in one spot. We left the cabin in good condition. At 3 that afternoon, I received an extremely disrespectful message stating that my comments on the card were "irrelevant" and that they had people waiting in line to book their cabins. The owners went on to state that I was being put on a list of people not to rent to ("...which only includes scammers and those who abuse our property"). Then they stated that the main mattress was ruined and soaked with urine. As we do have a 5 year old (who doesn't wet the bed at all usually, but hey I guess it could happen), I stated that we had no idea the mattress was wet but I did not argue and was willing to pay for mattress cleaning. HOWEVER, they went on to say that the cabin was left in "atrocious" condition and that they had to pay their cleaning lady 3x the normal cleaning cost due to the need for "heavy duty cleaning". This is when I realized something was terribly wrong. We left the cabin in very good condition with no known issues. I queried as to what was wrong with the cabin and was told that there were "stains everywhere, pee all over the bathroom, and then the soaked mattress". They even went on to say they had "never had a cabin left in this condition". I knew at this point that something was off. I asked for specifics on stains and the "liquid in the bathroom" and asked for pictures. I received no response. When we got home, I checked my 5 year old's pajamas and there was no urine or urine smell on them. I texted the owners back and inquired as to whether the damage sustained to the roof (shingles were everywhere!!) might have caused a leak which led to the ruined mattress, stains(??), and the liquid in the bathroom which they claimed was urine. I again received no response. I then stated that they make sure to charge my credit card for the damages separately as I would be disputing them...which I currently am. This is the most bizarre situation I have ever experienced. I can't decide if this is retaliation for the negative comment card or if they really did experience roof leakage (which they think is pee??!!). Not to mention the extreme rudeness and I professionalism of the texts zi was sent. Needless to say, this is our very last stay here. read more

Thank you so much... we had an absolute wonderful time in Glen Rose this weekend and the Waterfall cabin at Anderson Creek Cabins was the icing to the trip. Our family of four, including our 7 year old daughter and 10 year old son, was perfectly comfortable and had endless fun things to do - most of all, just relaxing and enjoying ourselves. We enjoyed every sunset from the back porch and each night with some charades by the fire, and we finally had the courage to go adventure in the creek on Sunday morning. It was perfect and we can't wait to visit again. I could see this as a perfect couples retreat, too... it is comfy, nicely appointed, clean, and secluded. The location was perfect for our Glen Rose stay - a short drive to anywhere and everywhere we wanted to visit - including Fossil Rim and Dinosaur Valley State Park... read more

Oh my goodness!!!! Where do I start!?! Imagine a spa like cabin! This is an amazing hidden gem. Less than an hour away from Dallas you will find the most relaxing, absolutely adorable little cabins in Glen Rose. Anderson Creek Cabins have the perfect location for a quiet and serene getaway! Very clean, the most comfortable accommodations, and the most adorable patios makes for a perfect whimsical getaway. Did I mention the beautiful waterfall? This is going to be a rather long review but I feel it is important to share all details. We stayed at Anderson Creek a few years back and loved it! When we were talking with family about booking cabins for the Thanksgiving holiday we decided on coming back here. On October 5th we reserved our cabins, we rented 3 out of the 4 cabins for 2 nights. At the beginning of November I realized I forgot to ask about pets as all of us had a small dog. I looked online and reviewed the policies at the cabins. It showed pets were not allowed and we had to give a 14 days notice if we were to cancel. I called and spoke with Mrs. Shirley and explained the situation. She agreed to let the animals come for a fee and we had to make sure we cleaned up after the animals. We all agreed this was reasonable. Our first night there I was bitten by something in the middle of the night twice. Since I am a property manager and have had previous issues with bed bugs at work I know that I have an allergic reaction to their bites. The next morning I text and ask if they had had previous issues with bed bugs because I was bitten in the middle of the night. They responded with they have "waterproof liners" that seal out all of these issues and sent me a picture of a mattress cover, this didn't really answer my question but I am going to assume at this point maybe it was a mosquito and I am being paranoid. The next night I got absolutely no sleep due to several bites ( at least 12). I actually found 2 bed bugs on my bed that I am sleeping in. I take pictures and send all of this to the owners. Also, my dogs are sleeping in their portable kennel that stays in my car most of the time. The owner responds with I am so sorry this has happened, we will call pest control and aggressively treat this issue. In the meantime we clean the cabin, all lines are left on the bed, all towels in the bathroom in a pile, dishes were done and put away, all trash was taken out, counters were all wiped down. I made sure everything was back in its place. I text the owner on the day we leave and request they refund half of my money due to the bed bugs and not getting any sleep. On top of that all of my items I took into the cabin could not go back into my house until it had all been wash, dried, or sprayed with bed bug spray. The owner never responds, I wait 3 days and ask if she is going to respond to my previous text she does finally reply with this; Penny, this is the first time we have ever had an issue of this sort...we Certainly appreciate the information, and are having all that addressed...but for all we know having an animal in the cabin could have been the source- we felt we accommodated your request and went the extra mile- as we normally not even allowing pets in the first place but made an exception- although our cleaning gal spent twice as long with issues related to dog hair etc...we trusted that you would make sure there would be careful clean up after - we did not charge for extra cleaning even though we head to pay her accordingly for her extra time. We are sorry for any inconvenience whatsoever, but it's not confirmed At this time that it was a bed bug- but will be in touch if we do get a confirmation from our pesticide guy. Thanks so much Really? This is 4 days later and you still haven't addressed this? I left a bed bug in a water bottle for them to show the pest control person. My concern is even though I let her know there were bed bugs in the cabin she still allowed people in the cabin without treating it. Bed bugs do not come from pets, we don't have bed bugs at home so I'm pretty sure my dogs didn't carry these into the cabin. Cleaning fee? Really? The cabin was clean, there was no extra dog hair. I am more upset with the how this issue was handled then the bed bugs. I feel like instead of dealing with the issue and trying to retain customers they attacked me and my pets. I will absolutely never rent here again or recommend it to anyone I know due to the unprofessional manner the owners handled this situation. read more

Our family of 4 (our girls are 3 and 6) enjoyed the weekend in the Bluff Creek Cabin. The pictures available on the Internet are accurate but don't really give a good sense of the cabin or the surrounding grounds. We had a wonderful time "roughing it" here in the woods. Everything you need is in the cabin (except a good can opener) and the cabin is so cute and very comfortable. We sat by the campfire both nights and enjoyed exploring the beautiful grounds and Fossil Rim during the day. Definitely recommend a relaxing family weekend here. read more

I brought my son and husband here for a quick getaway. Tha cabin was so relaxing with the most amazing views. We enjoyed playing on the waterfall although it was dry, exactly what we were looking for this time of year. Will be coming back this summer! This is our special place to go for our weekend getaways. . .to be still and relax from the busyness of life. We have stayed in both cabins and the decor is so inviting and comfortable with a large deck and bar-b-que to enjoy the outdoors too! The ranch and the creek are wonderful to hike and very beautiful! I loved our visit to the Bluff Creek cabin! They have everything you need in the cabin for a quiet weekend! Tons of outdoor exploring in the creek, and the kids loved it! Very close to all the major attractions...Dino World and State Park to the right, Fossil Rim to the left and the downtown square was fun to visit also. This is a great place for a weekend getaway...very secluded and rustic. The cabins are fully outfitted with full kitchen, breakfast, coffee and juice included, cable tv, linens, towels, fire pit, propane grill, seasonal waterfall in spring fed creek. With a pull out bed on the couch, cabins can sleep 4 comfortably. All you need to bring is clothes and food (you don't have to cook, there are several iconic restaurants nearby in Glen Rose!) Other attractions nearby are Dinosaur Valley State Park, Glen Rose Golf Course, Fossil Rim Wildlife Center and The Promise (live musical about the Passion of Christ) read more
