We came in right before the restaurant filled out at 10am and got the shakshuka along with a burger and fries. Everything was made perfectly and so flavorful. The chefs certainly have a skill for optimal taste and cooking as that was the best meal of the weekend. The server was so attentive and sweet too! It was not busy only two other couples eating when we arrived. We sat at our usual table And noted service was a bit slow right off the bat. When I received my Pho, which I thought was a longer wait than usual, it was luke warm if that. The Korean ribs and chicken wings arrived temperature appropriate. I pushed my soup aside but no one checked back until my lunch mate finished. When the waiter came to clear the table I asked for a to go and thought he would ask if there was anything wrong. He did not so I told him the Pho was served luke warm so I did not eat it and that no one had checked back or even passed by us or I would have sent it back to heat it up. We were done now so I'd just take it to go. Our waiter apologized and when he brought the bill said The Pho was comped and apologized again for the breakdown in service. When I dine I like to relax and enjoy a meal With who I came with. So receiving temperature appropriate food is important. The KD does a good job. They have a diverse menu with flavorful food and great cocktails. When there is a hiccup in service or the food there is a genuine concern. Sometimes it's caught by them and others it's brought to their attention. It's how things are dealt with when those mishaps happen. The KD addresses your concerns with sincerity and want their diner to have an all around great experience. If you have not been give KD a try when in downtown Napa.

I have my list from them and was excited to use one of the best excuses ever to go-my mother-in-law's 75th birthday and flying in to town to see us. We got a sitter and reserved a table weeks ahead. Entering in to the restaurant, it has a cool vibe as it's also a hotel. We got there before the dinner rush, so it was relaxed when we arrived. We were seated at a table; the staff knew ahead it was my MILs bday, and they kindly wished her happy birthday several times in our time. We ordered the mushrooms for appetizer; a generous portion, but not too big to ruin dinner. It was an unusual dish we hadn't had before; beautifully plated with arugula and a slightly spicy purée. I would order it again. I got a glass of Walt Chardonnay and my MIL a sparkling wine, which she and my husband really liked. For entrees, I got the Petaluma Chicken-which was crispy outside and tender on the inside. Polenta (very creamy) and broccolini. I would say my dish was light on salt, so I added some to taste, and all was good. My husband got the vegan plate with salmon, and it looked so healthy and fresh. The tofu was crispy too, even for my hubby that doesn't eat tofu. My mother in law got the flat iron steak and frites. The steak was cooked to her liking and looked delicious. The fries were ok--I thought they were a bit under-whelming (like them piping hot) but that can't always be achieved in a busy restaurant. After we left, we received an email saying we had been refunded and at the bottom of the receipt it said "We apologize as this order did not show up on our calendar until today. We look forward to hosting you in the future. Thank you, Sheana" (see attached screenshot). I think this is deeply unprofessional on so many levels. Even if the reservation had only shown up today on their calendar (despite us booking it several weeks prior) and they weren't prepared, they had all the time before 3pm to reach out via email or phonecall to say they couldn't make the class. They didn't even try reaching out and instead we received a refund after the scheduled class time. Lack of communication is such a bummer considering we set aside a couple hours for this and we were so excited. Also, this is located in Sonoma which means it's out of the way for people who are visiting Napa and its vineyards. That's typically not an issue but considering we had to drive out the way and we got cancelled on after we waited for them is where it is an issue. Deeply unprofessional situation and hope they improve on communication soon.

I had a trip planned and needed a meal prep service, so I decided to give Spicy Girl Meal Prep a try. Despite seeing some negative reviews, I thought it couldn't be that bad. Unfortunately, my experience was a total disappointment. I paid $205 for the service to be delivered and was very clear about when I needed the food by. However, the food was never delivered, and I was given the runaround when I tried to contact the company. They claimed that the food was not delivered because of the holiday, which was unacceptable. When I finally got a response from them, an assistant named Dana texted me to say that they were closed that day. This was after I had called repeatedly and left several messages. It was clear that they had no intention of delivering the food. At this point, I had to come up with another solution for my meal prep needs, which was a huge inconvenience. My wife called the company from a different phone number and was told that we would receive a refund. However, we never received any refund despite reaching out to them through email. In the end, I had to dispute the entire process with Venmo to get my money back. Overall, I had a terrible experience with Spicy Girl Meal Prep, and I would advise anyone to stay away from them. They are unprofessional, unreliable, and clearly do not care about their customers. Update: I find it outrageous that I had to resort to contacting several mutual friends on Instagram just to reach her. Finally, one of her friends came forward and told me that she had mentioned my experience to Jade. I was very clear with her that Jade was lying about the situation, and that I intended to leave a review about it a year later. It's interesting that Jade has just reached out to me with an invitation to have lunch and fix the situation, which seems shady and as if she's trying to cover herself. The truth is, she should have done this a year ago when I had a terrible experience.
