The owner just said it's because your nail is not smooth and that was the end of it. No suggestion to correct or even sorry. Said next time use a different colour (not metallic). Two people came out and it was so strange as there wasn't an uplifting feeling or they just didn't care. The owner kept grabbing things for my nail tech like towels for my hand and let's and water for my mani. The service itself was nice and thorough and their shellac pedicure included a short hot stone massage and paraffin wax treatment. My sister originally asked for a fingernail to be fixed as the shellac polish had peeled off. She decided to get a polish change instead after staff upsold her that service. She had gotten a manicure elsewhere and picked a different colour polish during this service. Prices are not posted in the store. You have to find the prices online. Also, you need to look thoroughly at the bill. My sister was charged $5 for shellac removal, $25 for the polish change and $10 for nail fix which never happened. We only noticed that after we had left the store and finally had the chance to look over the bill. The nail tech showed the bill on the iPad in store with a quick scroll down the screen. There were so many charges that it got confusing. We basically were charged $10 extra for a service we did not receive. Prices were average for the North Burnaby area. The store itself is modern and trendy. Pedicure stations had massage chairs. Their nail polish selection was great. They do have a loyalty program if you plan to visit them regularly. Points collected will earn you a discount on a future service. Overall, 3.5 star experience because of the billing hiccup.

One of the girls was giving me a pedicure and Anna (the owner) was giving me a manicure at the same time. The girl was scraping the dead skin off my foot and wasn't paying attention and scraped the side of my foot. Realizing what she'd done, she immediately dropped my foot in the water to hide the cut, which stung so fcking bad. I pulled my foot out of the water and blood was gushing out. Anna said something to her in Vietnamese and the girl ran to grab ointment and bandages. I'm not impressed that she didn't acknowledge her mistake right away, but I didn't make a fuss. The girl was so embarrassed, she didn't look at me for the rest of the time so Anna ended up taking my payment. It's surprising that she charged me full price and I'm an idiot for tipping on top of that. They will text you the check in procedure -- call to let them know you have arrived and remain in your car till the nail technician is ready for you. What about those who do not drive? And I saw other customers who came in later who definitely did not call ahead to announce their arrival. Street parking is available though it can be tricky to get a spot during popular hours. Capacity has been halved as only alternate station is used and they are fitted with plexiglass. They should not be using the first station near the door as it was next to the nail polish display case. I could tell the customer in that chair was uncomfortable when I had to go to the case to pick out the color. And I was told to go pick out what I wanted. Definitely no social distancing for that. They did a double booking when I was there and the other client had to come back at a later time. This was quite the fastest pedicure I ever had. It was done in 20-30 minutes. As it was winter and cold out there and I did not manage to get "Rock star" parking aka right in front of the shop, I did not want to wear my flip flops out. So I waited for another 15 minutes for the nails to dry. Another thing to note was how the purpose of mask wearing was defeated when the nail tech pulled down her mask to blow on my toes to dry them faster. I was stunned but just prayed for the best. I also did not like the fact there was a $1 service charge added to the bill when it was not stated anywhere in the price list etc. Be upfront about all charges so customers can make informed decisions. Maybe it was due to covid, but there was no toe separator being used while painting the nails. Other places would use tissue paper wound around the toes instead of the usual sponge separators. While the pedicure itself is ok, I am not sure if I will return again. I have been avoiding nail salons due to covid and this was my first pedicure in about a year and the blowing on my toes really shook me.

It was only about 65 minutes not 90 minutes as they said. Cost $110 plus tax and tips $130. 50.
