This shares the same building that houses Heritage bar and kitchen. Go left for heritage and right for brewery. I thought it was odd the Heritage bar did not serve the brewery beer. Had dinner at Heritage and decided to come here for a beer. Asked for their IPA, hoppiest IPA. Service: very good, attentive, helpful, and good sense of humor Beer: got IPA and it was not very hoppy with hardly any body and flavor and after trying a sip of my husband beer decided to not get anything

Flight, great selections

Atmosphere was pretty cool. The bartender was awesome. We were able to relate to Tacoma, so definitely made a personal connection. Got a flight of beer, he was able to guide through many choices they had on tap. I sat at one the high top tables and did homework. His conversation with everybody else around the bar and people coming was great. Definitely a person who understands people.

Whistle Punk is my 267th brewery visit. The location, with a door right off an alley which leads into a warm and inviting space with brick and rock walls reminds me of pubs in Scotland. The homeless guy who was hanging out right in front of the door much less so. Once we got past him though all was good. As I said it's a very comfortable space and Dutch working the bar helped us out. I picked up a flight of 6 while SWPFTD got a pint of the doppelbock. The apricot crumble had a lot of apricot aroma and flavor with some sourness and a touch of sweetness. Really good. I could sit out on my deck and drink this on a summer afternoon. Tmave' Pivo is a Czech lager but the style is dark compared to your typical Czech lager. It had a nice light coffee aroma which continued on the tongue but was not overpowering at all. This was excellent. Fernhopper IPA had good hop aroma and flavor but didn't stand out for me. London porter is a really smooth and excellent porter. This is good stuff! Cask mild ale is really good. I do love a cask ale and this just adds to the "pub feel" that the brewery has. The only other place I know that has cask ales on regularly is Crown & Thistle pub in CDA so I was happy to find this very good one in Spokane. The Chocolate coconut stout was good although I didn't really pick up the coconut in it. Whistle Punk is a solid brewery. Great beers, Dutch was cool, and the ambience was perfect. If anyone is a glutton for punishment, please, follow my brewery, and distillery, reviews from across the U.S. and beyond! https://www.yelp.com/collection/-8iscFkpiiCI563-FDfwGg and if anyone is wondering who SWPFTD is you will have to check out my review of Black Market Brewing Co in Temecula, CA to understand. Yes, you will need to read into it a little to get the joke but I have confidence in you! I hope my confidence is not misplaced.

I believe we went to the second location in Millwood, but I would imagine applies to both locations. I really enjoyed the beer and the man behind the bar. He was super nice and we had a fun chat about local breweries. Like I said the beer was solid. The merch is cool and the location is chill as hell. I would recommend a stop by for sure..

"Bottomless" Sour

Whistle Punk is located in a quaint, cozy building. They have a pretty extensive on-tap menu - I wasn't sure what I was in the mood for, but the bartender was more than happy to pour me a couple of tasters to help me decide. I ended up with a sour that will live in my head forever as I will compare all other sours to it moving forward. I'm not usually a huge fan of sour beers, but my friend ordered their "Bottomless" sour (mimosa flavor) so I gave it a try and I was so impressed. They're next door to a restaurant, so you can order food there and they'll bring it over. Rosemary curly fries? Yes, please. The staff was so friendly and engaging, which made my experience even better!

Lester Cup Pilsner, Distant Light

Tasty beer, great service and cool ambiance in this historic downtown building. We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. It was too smoky to be outside and this was a perfect time to try them out. We chose the Lester Cup Pilsner, Distant Light. Clean and refreshing for a hot day. While there we also tried the Tmave Pimo. A Czech style of dark beer off of their side pull taps. Smooth and creamy with a hint of chocolate. It's a big space, but split into smaller spaces with plenty of seating. They are in a somewhat funky location in an Alley, street parking at both ends of the alley, but it could be sketchy getting closer on a busy day/night. Just another little gem in the brewery community of Spokane. Stop in and try their different options.

Fantastic Espresso Milk Stout! Five stars all the way on this beer!

After a recent trip to Spokane and getting samples, cans and bottles of breweries I had on my "to try" list Whistle Punk came in as one of favorite breweries. They make a fantastic Espresso Milk Stout! So smooth, rich and the vanilla notes just gave it a touch of the magical. Stouts are great as the weather gets colder and this stout is just perfect! I just had the stout but I was so impressed with it I have a feeling that their other beers are promising as well! And I suppose it shows. This was one of the more crowded breweries I went to on my whirlwind tour and it was very clear everyone was enjoying their libations here!

Cool sign

Had a great time here and the bartender is a nice guy. There is a lot of space and the beer was really good (see below). As a bonus, the restaurant next door delivers to the brewery and they have good food. Tmave' Pivo Dark lager (great) Bavarian Hefeweizen (great) Cream Ale (good) Irish Red (great) Altbier (very good) Cask Best Bitter (great)

COVID review: We took a road trip to Spokane around August 2020. Whistle Punk brewing was around the corner from the hotel we were staying, so it was very convenient to drink here and stumble back to our hotel. We tried a wide variety of their beers and all of them were really good. The outdoor seating is dog-friendly in a brick alley way and all of the tables were very spread out. Overall, I enjoyed Whistle Punk a lot and it was definitely my favorite brewery in Spokane.

Literally have drove 5 hours to eastern Washington because I had such a good experience at Whistle Punk. Chris is one of my favorite bartenders of all time. HIGHLY recommend.

I'm excited to get back in here. When I lived in Wisconsin this was one of the breweries in Spokane I had heard the most about. Now that I live here this place is becoming a regular after-work hang. It's got a bright and inviting vibe. The barkeep makes you feel instantly welcome and will answer all your beer questions or just recommend you a delightful pour to get your relaxation started. He not only brings beer but brings smiles too. The music is just right and you can bring a group or belly up to the bar to show yourself a good time. There is a beer for everyone here. Stouts, Lagers, Sour, and IPAs..oh my. I'm dreaming of another glass already. It's also a great idea to order food from Heritage next door and they will bring it to you in the bar. Those rosemary curly fries do not disappoint; especially when dipped in that pesto ranch. Come support local beer with a smile. I also love their merch. My hoodie gets lots of compliments, and you can get glassware and beer to go too. Do yourself a favor and get in here.

The service was good and the patrons friendly. The only down check for me was the atmosphere. It felt bland and industrial.

I was recommended to try this place by a co-worker and decided to order two of their sandwiches…read morewhich was talked up by several reviews here on Yelp. I ordered the Fig Sandwich and the Fancy Pants Sando because I could not decide between the two as they both sounded very unique in different ways. I called the place up and arranged to come pick the food up. The person on the phone was very thoughtful in keeping in mind at what time I would arrive so he could arrange for the sandwich to be toasted at the right time. I appreciate small details like that. When I arrived, I noticed there were several tables and a bar where you can essentially get brews and food. I noticed they had several beers on tap which I was very curious about, but unfortunately did not have time to sit down and eat at this establishment. The person at the bar was extremely friendly and made me feel very welcome. The two sandwiches came up to $40ish. I brought the sandwiches home and first tried a few bites of the Fancy Pants Sando. I will have to say it was the better of the two sandwiches. I appreciated the goat cheese in the sandwich and the mix of different ingredients, but it was not something I would consider to be a great sandwich, at least not for me. Others might find it pleasant, but I did not care for it much. The fig sandwich was the one I was more excited about and expected some sweetness to be cut down by the bacon. I don't think it was a perfect balance between the two, and I got a tad much of the overwhelming sweetness of the figs in this sandwich. Again, others might enjoy it, but I didn't care for it. I really wanted to give this place a great review, but unfortunately it did not meet my expectations. The beer looks fun though and might be a good reason to give this place a try, and you may enjoy their sandwiches and many people have. For me, that's a no-go.
