We visited this taproom while we were spending a week in Spokane. Friends had recommended it and said the place was dog-friendly. As it turned out, we came back three times after that first visit! We'd be there tonight, except we had to head home. The beer is amazing. Good variety and just really well made (in my humble opinion). Plus, they have homemade dog treats and great people food (I've heard - didn't go at dinner time yet). And games! We were playing cribbage, and several people came up and asked if we wanted to join the brewery's cribbage tournament! How fun. The owner, the beertenders, and the customers were all friendly and welcoming. The space itself is cute, with great music and plenty of seating at picnic tables and high tops. Humble Abode was yet another brewery where we had drinks, samples and an all around shopping spree for canned beer(to take home and enjoy) on a recent trip to Spokane. For this brewery Steve and I had a very tasty Berlinerweise Beer. These types of beers are in the sour beer category but are often on the lighter side compared to like a fruited sour which has a lot more body to it. Almost always I like the lighter beers so I enjoyed this one more compared to a fruited one. Lots of other promising beer options here as well and well worth returning to for more exploration of those other beers! read more

Ladies and gentlemen, Peggy is in Spokane, doing what she loves best; providing information about the eating establishments with an objective perspective. My friend spoke of this place with fondness, and is always willing to indulge my food porn fetish. He mentioned their Jalepeno Pale Ale, and I was just intrigued enough to try it. But, first I had a taste of 2 other varieties; the Peanut butter porter, and a Mocha Milk Stout. Both were outstanding, but I decided on the Mocha. I loved the layers of flavor in the beer. The coffee and chocolate notes mixed together perfectly. It was a hell of a lot of yum! But, the Jalapeño Pale ale was a true Fiesta on my tongue. When I walked through the open garage door, I was overcome with awesome vibes. Some lively music was playing, and my friend who brought me was kinda like Norm from Cheers. I enjoyed conversations with the very friendly gentleman serving up the awesome beverages. Oh, wait -- stop the presses -- my friend also recommended the root beer, and it was quite good. It's not too bubbly, and perfectly sweet. Having a good root beer is so important, because it placates the kiddos, and gives the adults something non-alcoholic and oh so tasty. The is just the cutest little nanobrewery in town! Super chill staff, delicious small batch beers with a great variety, and food trucks come hang out front. We had the Berliner Weiss, the Peanut Butter Stout, a mocha Porter of some kind and a Dreamsicle cider. They come in 5oz little guys, 16oz and Growlers - I went with the little guys so I could try a few. It was all really good!! Don't be discouraged by it being in a little bit of an industrial area, most great places are hidden - go on in, and check out what awesome stuff they are making! read more

Like a lot of many breweries, this place is found in a industrial area. Don't let that fool you, they are the real deal. - Friendly service - Dog friendly - Family friendly - good beer First time there and I was greeted like I was a regular, and the bartenders even remembered my name after initial introductions. Appeared there were plenty of regulars. There are a couple of TV's to watch and games to play. Big tables, so plenty of room for groups. Decent mix of beer. I'm not an IPA fan, and while they seemed to lean towards IPA's, they had a very good Peanut Butter Stout. No other brewery in the area has one, as far as I know. It was tasty as well. It was well worth the trip just for that. They even made my dog feel at home and brought over a treat I could give him. We were in Spokane for the weekend to attend a family wedding, and decided to check out the beer scene. We came with my in-laws and toddler, and had a good time trying different beers and playing board games. The menu was best for me, as an IPA fan, and there was a stout on there for my husband as well. I had three tasters and loved them all, but particularly liked the hazy. Owner was friendly and helpful. I love this type of operation - low key, quality beers, unique, and fun. We all enjoyed ourselves here. If we lived close by, we'd be here regularly. read more

Humble Abode is a small brewery on the north side of town, near where you usually find other great breweries: mixed in between manufacturing and storage warehouses. Breweries are the first and still the only food and beverage industry to appreciate this area of town. First, the land is cheap compared to the restaurant district. Breweries need space to stack their big fermenters and other brewing equipment. Second, the area is quiet. When I am enjoying a beer outside, I don't want to see mobs of people walking by me in the street or to hear cars whizzing by. I want peace and quiet. Lastly, for my list but I'm sure there are many more reasons, there is plenty of parking. How many times have you wanted to go somewhere but decided against it because the parking would be difficult? When the competition around your business is industrial storage, you are not competing with anyone for parking. When we went to Humble there was construction blocking off most of the entrances yet there were still people enjoying the brewery, both inside and out. It was a great sign to see a vibrant brewery even though there were many road signs essentially telling to turn around and go elsewhere. If you make it there, you will be delighted. The beer is good and they have nice seating indoors and out. read more
