I don't hand out compliments easily. Usually I walk into places ready to snort, judge everyone silently, and knock over patio furniture if the vibe is weak. But Badass Backyard Brewing? Absolute pasture-approved excellence. First off, the name says 'Badass,' and for once it's not false advertising. Most places slap edgy words on the sign and then serve beer that tastes like somebody filtered rainwater through a flip-flop. Not here. The beer actually has personality. Bold flavors, small-batch attitude, and enough variety that even a 2,000-pound bovine with anger issues can find a favorite. The atmosphere? Perfect. Cozy, chill, unapologetically local, and zero pretentious craft beer nonsense. Nobody in there is trying to explain 'notes of elderberry with a whisper of regret.' They just hand you a great beer and let you enjoy life like civilized savages. Also, respect to the fact this place started as an actual backyard brewing operation. That's the kind of origin story I can get behind. No corporate boardroom. No focus-grouped IPA names. Just straight-up badass energy and good beer. Hundreds of Hops self-guided US Hop Passport Brewery Tour Stop #13 (3rd stop for Washington) This is a quaint & comfortable brewery, from the hand sewn coasters to the homemade dog beds, this place screams welcome home. Even if the beer was bad, you might still come here just for the vibe. Added bonus is that the beer IS good. We had a very solid IPA & coffee stout There was an odd experience of someone pulling into the parking lot, coming inside to use the restroom, then proceeding to cordially ask each table if they could spare $10 for gas money. Badass Backyard Brewing is brewery #318 for me. And luckily it's local so I'll definitely be back. For those of you with a short attention span I'll summarize this for you...BBB is legit! STFU and go drink beer there! Every beer we had a BBB was good. The brewer/owner was there so we got to talk with her awhile. Because I was lazy and didn't get this review done earlier I'm not giving a lot of detail. She did have a habanero beer, which was too spicy for me to drink a pint of but it's going to be perfect in some three meat brisket chili I'll be cooking up soon. I usually don't give 5 starts. But we noticed that the sign at the front said closed at 8:00pm and we walked in at 8:15 .. and asked if they were still open? But obviously they weren't lol but the girl working was super down to stay open lol. Thank youuuu!! We came just to grab a drink before picking our friends at the airport. I had the bartender surprise me with a beer I got a stout wich I loved. But forgot to ask her what it was. My partner got a Pilsner beer (also forgot to ask what it was) We both enjoyed the two beers both had a good taste. The place is super cute! The plants , and since it's spooky season their decor is really nice. They also have a popcorn machine, lots of board games you can choose from and stickers. My favorite part I do have to say was Mr. copper (DOG) not sure if he's always there but he's the goodest boy. makes the place even better. I'll for sure have to come back here at some point. Very, very cool place. We stopped by on an early Saturday afternoon. There were only a few people there, but it was still loads of fun. Lots of good conversation (with the people and the bartender) and even more good beer. Great quality beer with everything I had -- I had to drive home later, so I couldn't just sit around and swill beer, though I would certainly like to. This place is the most dynamically inclusive brewery we've experienced in the area. Ambiance is consistently chill & friendly. Extra badass is that (as of present time), this is the only brewery in PNW with a SOLO female owner & brewer. When I think of the term "Badass" my mind often drifts to Uma Thurman (The Bride) prowling into O-Ren Ishii's lair to seize her revenge with the musical piece Battle Without Honor Or Humanity blaring from Kill Bill Vol. 1. OR The film made decades earlier than Kill Bill, Faster Pussycat, Kill, Kill in which Varla (played by Tura Satana) takes a desert by storm as a fearsome trio taking the desert by storm with various types of locals getting in their way. So the fact that I saw a brewery with "Badass" in it not only seized those fond cinematic outings but it's also something you rarely see with business names. So to make it quite simple when I saw the name of this brewery I knew I had to stop by. A few years earlier I thought I had a pretty good hold on visiting breweries in Spokane but quite a few sprung up over a short period of time which made this trip to stay on top of it a priority. We tried two beers here which we really enjoyed. We got a pumpkin beer which had a good spice profile to it and wasn't too sweet. We usually get one pumpkin spice beer each Autumn to avoid overkill on pumpkin beer and I was glad that this will probably be the one for this year. The other was a coffee stout which had a great flavor to it. The coffee aspect was well balanced and was really enjoyable to drink. Of course I had to get swag here! I got a fun truckers style cap with "Badass Brewing " on the front of it making the visit here complete! read more

So a few friends wanted to take me to this beer yoga (BOGA) place they've been going to every time they are in Spokane. I will say that enjoyed my time and enjoyed the drinks! Boga happens every Sunday from 12:30pm-1:30pm. And it's only $12/pint for beer and yoga. The yoga instructor and the attendees to BOGO is a blast to hang with each other. The atmosphere is great and fitting for a taproom too. If you are just looking for a chill bar, this is a great place to be at too! By the way, this place is LGBT friendly as well! A welcome addition to the growing microbrew scene in the Spokane area. Good beer and I have been a fan since their tasting room was actually in their backyard. While they have very good beer, what really makes Badass unique are the owners. Charlene and Kendra are very personable. It is just a friendly atmosphere where you can sit and have a drink or two, or however many you want..... They have a list of regular beer they make and then a list of small batch beer that rotates. They will also take requests on what to brew next. They have had a Habanero Blond that is really tasty. Last time I was there they recommended I try it mixed with Clamato?? It was excellent !! They also have a brown and porter I find tasty. They have some IPA's that I hear are tasty. I am not much of an IPA fan. read more

Amazing! Yeah, my thing is to taste beers at microbreweries....and this one does not disappoint! I went two days in a row and tasted 5 beers each time. 90% approval rate on the beers, almost a first for me. I don't really like "blondes" (no reflection on real blondes) but the Blonde beer is amazing. Then, go down the line. Not a one of the regular beers on tap is not a winner! I was never a fan of beer. My husband however, is. My first visit to Badass was actually in their backyard. These ladies have made me a huge beer fan. I love their Raspberry Wheat.
