Moo. This cow enjoys grazing at Bardic Brewing. It's a family-friendly brewpub in Spokane Valley with thoughtful craft drinks, good food, and a calm pasture where conversations don't have to compete with loud music or glowing TV screens. When this cow wanders in, there might be stouts being slowly savored near the fireplace, humans discussing ancient literature, a family laughing over a half-finished pizza, or a nearby table deep into a heated game of Magic the Gathering with ESBs and cider in hoof. It's cozy, communal, and usually feels just right. One thing this cow respects -- the beer here is strong, and it's not brewed for the weak. There's nothing on tap that isn't unique or intentional. That said, this also means Bardic isn't for everyone. The average beer drinker looking for a simple, easy-drinking West Coast IPA that isn't pushing 9% ABV may leave unsatisfied, and that likely eliminates a large portion of beer drinkers in the area. For adventurous palates, though, this place is a treat. Lately, this cow has noticed the welcome hasn't been quite as warm as it used to be. The beer and food remain excellent, but the last few visits felt a bit less friendly. A smile or a greeting would go a long way in restoring the inviting feel this pasture is known for. Nothing has soured, and this cow will return. I just hope the hospitality rises to match the boldness of the beer and the heart of the space -- because when it does, Bardic Brewing is a fantastic place to graze. Moo. read more

Good drinks at decent prices. Ambience is nice and funny. The food is TERRIBLE bordering on disgusting and ridiculously overpriced for what you get, both quantity and quality. If they upped the quality of the food my review would be higher. read more

We were running about town and decided to stop in at Bardic Brewing. This was brewery #283 for me. It's a small taproom with a cozy feel to it. Lots of games available and clearly that is what it's aimed at. There was a group of four playing some game they brought with them when we walked in. Stupid Sexy Flanders ale didn't grab me that much and I generally like Flanders ales. I didn't hate it, just didn't love it. Singularity Russian imperial stout had a nice balance of coffee and chocolate flavor. SWPFTD ordered a pint of ISH Irish red ale, which was really good. The Waves of Grain amber ale was solid. I would definitely order this again. Mr Fancy Pants English golden wasn't loved by SWPFTD but I thought it was pretty good. I enjoyed Kane Madness India red ale. Decent hop flavor and a good beer. Epilogue rum barrel fig porter had a whole lot going on. I couldn't decide if I like it or not really. There was a lot of flavor but it worked. It just might have been the fig flavor that had me off a little bit. Bardic is a cool spot. The people were friendly and it would be a fun place to hang out, enjoy a beer, and play a couple games with friends. Yay! Bardic is a brewery that makes it's own beer and cider! So Steve and I can try some craft beer and cider all in one stop! Always a good thing there! For Bardic on the beer end we got the Ravenmaster which was a biter beer. It was okay but a type of beer I don't get very often. I thought it was decent but it wasn't exactly up my alley. Things really turned around with cider and I felt it was refreshing, tasty and unique! The Sudden But Inevitable is a herbed spice cider with a hint of bourbon flavor to it. Highly enjoyable and a bit unusual moves Bardic into four star territory. Would love to try more of their ciders! read more

Okay sooooo the place is super cute. Games and whatnot for families which we enjoy as we have kiddos. I didn't love most of the drinks BUT their oatmeal stout was amazing. However, we did order food and the pizza took one HOUR... and it was super greasy and had a weird sauce.. we were already beyond done with our drinks by then and so hungry so it was a bummer. read more

Cannot speak highly enough about this place! The cider is incredible; easily the best I've had as far as I can remember. Tried both the Strawberry Hibiscus and the Vanilla Coconut and found them both light, refreshing, with the perfect amount of kick... Not too strong/weak. The Cayenne Watermelon was also delicious but I highly recommend you get a taster before getting a pint unless you have a stomach that can handle the spice. The pizza was also delicious, *much* higher quality than typical "pub food." The staff are amazingly warm and friendly and spent extra time explaining their wares and the history of the business. The overall vibe feels like if a bookstore met a cidery... Warm, inviting, no TVs. This is a place to have some drinks and food with friends over a game of cards or board game. (We actually made some friends while hanging out who taught us a brand new card game we fell in love with.) Prices are also very reasonable and there is plenty of parking. read more
