We had their delicious turkey burgers and the view of the lake was magnificent. All around the restaurant were beautiful flowering trees.

I spent the day hyping up this restaurant, to my visiting relatives expecting the same great meal we had a year ago, only to be completely let down and have the rumors I refused to believe be confirmed. From the moment we arrived, our waitress seemed in no hurry and was forgetful to say the least. It took multiple requests just to get a kids' menu, and our drinks sat empty for nearly 30+minutes. She never cleared our table of bread, salad, or soup plates, so we ended up stacking them on the concrete wall beside us as we finished each course--simply because we couldn't stand the clutter anymore. About 10 minutes before the main course was served, she returned to tell me they had run out of filets and asked what I'd like instead. I switched to a ribeye. Our food finally arrived around 8:30, even though we were seated at 6:45--an hour and forty-five minutes later. During that time, I spoke with Leroy, the owner, more than I did with our waitress the entire evening. To top it off, she added an automatic 20% gratuity for our table of seven--four adults and three children. We're generous tippers, but jt was blatantly obvious she was coasting through the night knowing the tip was guaranteed. When the ribeye finally arrived, it was one of the toughest cuts I've ever been served--full of tendons and gristle, and certainly not worth the $40+ price tag. Honestly, I could have picked up a pack of two better ribeyes at Walmart for the price I paid for the one I didn't even eat tonight. When I mentioned my disappointment with the steak, she seemed unfazed. The only redeeming parts of the evening were the view, a cup of soup, and the vanilla crème brûlée. I made an effort to express my disappointment before leaving with zero effort on her part to engage in a solution. So I tried calling on the way home to speak with someone--no answer. So here we are..... our entire table left disappointed! It was especially embarrassing after I'd talked the place up so much--only to end the night with a $320 bill and a thoroughly underwhelming experience. read more

The Whispering Woods signature burger wasn't like the time we ate there before. The meat was dry and the blue cheese on it didn't taste like real blue cheese, it didn't even look like blue cheese. Very disappointed. read more

We always enjoy eating here when in the vicinity. You can't beat the view and the food has always been delicious! We happened in on a Saturday afternoon around 2. The outside patio was perfect! The adjustable umbrellas are very nice! There were several other diners but it wasn't overly crowded. Our waitress was great! Drinks delivered promptly, order taken and delivered in a very timely manner. Everything was correct and delicious!! The sandwiches are huge, French fries fresh and hot and the sangria was refreshing. I've never had anything here that disappointed me. Hope to plan a visit to include a stay at the cabins sometime! read more

Enjoyed an amazing lunch at Whispering Woods. Forgot to take a picture. It is under new ownership. Our food was delicious. I had breaded or crispy cod. My husband enjoyed a pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries. Completed our meal with key lime pie. Server was excellent. Restaurant was clean. Always love the lake view. Front of the house service for lunch was great! As for dinner it was horrible! The food is delicious, to bad the hostess for the evening meal was such a bitch. We were staying there and didn't know you had to have reservations for the evening meal ! We were treated like nobody's. Told to step back into the hallway and set on the bench while she consulted with the server to see if he could serve us . Your in the middle of nowhere so they can treat you this way. We came before dinner and an off hour but sat quickly. If you come here, make your reservation. If we had been a little bit later, we would not have been so lucky. Such a wonderful spot! All of the locals in Mountain Home, Arkansas recommended the Whispering Woods Grill for a nice dinner. It was about a 20 minute drive from down town Mountain Home but was definitely worth it! I had a truffle Mac and cheese and my mom had a steak. We then got an amaretto crème brûlée at the end of the night to finish it off and it was by far the best crème brûlée I have ever had! Traveling from Texas to visit friends in Mountain View and Mountain Home, this restaurant in between the two towns was recommended. We had a reservation for 8:15 (only choice available) for a party of six a plus a service dog, and the staff was happy to seat us early as a table became available. Allison was our server. She was very attentive without being intrusive, and she was delightful. I got the Parmesan crusted halibut with a baked potato and steamed broccoli. I enjoyed it, but my husband said it wasn't the freshest halibut he'd had. Hubs got the shrimp and scallop Alfredo. He enjoyed it except for the garlic cooked with the pasta. A little too much garlic. One friend got the roasted chicken with rosemary and thyme sauce. He said it was good. His wife got the walleye. She did not enjoy it at all. She was not specific, but said it was not good. Another friend got the sea bass and loved it. Her husband got the pork tenderloin medallions, and he liked it very much. The ambience is pleasant with simple decor. We enjoyed the evening overall due to great service and pretty good food. We'd certainly eat there again, but probably try steaks and burgers and stay away from the fish. read more

Went to WW for Thanksgiving dinner. I have eaten here many times over the years but this was my first visit since ownership has changed. Dinner was not as expected. Lamb was tough. Green bean casserole was not good at all. Dressing has black olives in it which was just strange. Creme bruele was odd as it was fruit flavored and the consistency was off. This has been a favorite restaurant for years but it seems that with change in ownership the quality of the food preparation has declined. read more

Excellent menu options, fantastic food, service and a view! The cabins on property are also comfy with a nice patio and view of the lake. Great for anyone visiting the area! Went to whispering woods grill for birthday dinner with wife. We both ordered burgers. Waitress took the order, but instead of running the order to the kitchen so they could get going on it she went to the table of 4 next to us for their order and few minutes for small talk. After that she went to another table. Thus slamming the kitchen with multiple orders. Finally our burgers came. I ordered mine medium well it was cooked on the outside but so raw on the inside I could not eat it. The hostess offered to have another burger made but I did not want to sit and watch my wife eat, then when I get served she can watch me eat. I'm not going for that. I'm not liking this place with the new owners. Food should leave the kitchen until it's right. Waitress's should not take multiple orders to the kitchen at one time. read more

The wife and i have eaten here over a dozen times and brought our friends and family here as well. Used to be our favorite place but it has turned here lately. Ive brought it to the owners attentiin before but not at the time we were there because they were busy. Emailed and Kim was not helpful that time. But we decided to try more times and were disappointed more. I left a polite comment on their Facebook page, where i have been very generous to them before, and they blocked me from their page. Without ever contacting me and trying to resolve my issues. Thats not what i expected but after seeing other reviews i guess i was just wrong about them. No loyalty to good customers and poor customer service and declining food quality. Oh well. We were driving an hour and a half ti eat there but now we can save that time and eat somewhere better. read more

In general food is very good, but not their seafood! Sea bass was overcooked! The scallop and shrimp linguini is a family favorite of ours! The crab and lobster ravioli may be my new favorite! The deserts are excellent!!! But please stop messing with the bread pudding! I lived the original bread pudding with rum sauce, but Oreo bread pudding!! The cheesecake and all other desserts as they say, "are to die for!" Service is always excellent! We enjoy a crafe of house wine with our meals and the wine is excellent!, they also have an excellent wine list! My friends and I enjoy a late lunch, and prefer to order from diner menu! They have excellent vegetables! The sweet potato fries are superior! The crab cakes are also excellent, but contain green peppers, which I cannot eat! The cod stick appetizer is also a favorite of many of our family! The setting overlooking the lake is one of the best in our area! We always take guests from out of town there if we can! read more

I'm not from around here and was looking for a new restaurant to discover with my fiancé. we shared the roasted chicken noodles with a side of potatoes and it just - Melted - it was so good. We went to Whispering Woods on a recommendation from friends. It was about an hours drive for us and it was worth it. The facility is nice and was hopping when we were there. We started with the bacon wrapped dates and the hummus both were very nice. We liked how they grilled the pita to give it a little smoky flavor and char. My wife had filet with spaghetti squash both were cooked perfect with nice flavor. I had the scallops and shrimp pasta which was exactly what I was craving and did not disappoint. Absolutely perfect meal! The lobster was cooked perfectly and sooo tender, the filet grilled to a perfect medium rare with the truffle butter that took it to another level, I used one of the pats of butter in my potato which was divine! (Anything with truffle is so decadent!) I've had the pesto ravioli in the past and would highly recommend that as well. In addition to my entree I subbed a house salad with the Caesar salad as my other side and really enjoyed it. It was a little heavy on the dressing for me so I might ask to lighten that up the next time I visit. The strawberry peach sangria special was quite refreshing and thoroughly enjoyed. Don't miss the warm chocolate chip cookie with ice cream for dessert even if you split it with others and at least have a bite! read more

Our server, Luke, was exceptional. The food was excellent. The dining area was spacious, with most tables having a view of the lake. The patio was inviting, but not with the temp 90+. Went there recently for our anniversary and must say this place rocks. We had flowers on our table and card from the staff recognizing our anniversary. Staff was professional and courteous.
