He came and apologized stating he had a disaster. He took or order. After another 40 mins, we had not been served. No waiter came by to say anything. We got up and left. Very poor service. We went last night, Friday. My husband had Fish and Chips....he was it was good. I had grilled salmon, mix veggies and mashed potatos. It was a 7! Incomparsion to Millers and Longhorn, they need to have fresh brocolli, definitely a baked potato and work on their grilled samon. I guess the chefs are not as experienced. My family and I visit the whisky kitchen about a week ago and would never recommend this place, especially for families. The worst of it feeling threatened by the manager Juan in front of our 1 year old child. We arrived at whisky kitchen and were seated quickly by a very sweet hostess, however it just went downhill from there. We immediately ordered an entree for our 1 year old daughter, an appetizer, and a drink from the bar. We then proceeded to wait 20 plus minutes to see our waitress again and had not even received the beverage which we later learned had sat up at the bar for over 20 minutes and had to flag someone down to get it and was watered down due to ice melting. When our daughter's food and the appetizer finally arrived our waitress finally came back to take our order, which would be the last time we would see our waitress for over 45 minutes. The appetizer we received was cold and lacked any flavor. After waiting over 45 minutes without seeing our waitress, or receiving an updates on food or a refill on drinks and being in the establishment for over an hour and a half we flagged down the hostess again to see if she could find someone to get us the check as our one year old was now restless and tired of sitting in a high chair for so long. When we did so the manager came out and rudely stated - "so do you want the food or not" to which we indicated that we needed to leave at this point because it had been so long and we asked for the check for the food we did receive. He walked off and it took an additional 10-15 minutes for our waitress to come out to bring us the check. The manager then came out again began yelling and berating my husband in front of our daughter my husband was upset and annoyed at this point but at no point raised his voice. He then began abrasively asking where we were from to which I stated that it was inappropriate and to please stop yelling. We paid our bill and got up to leave, upon doing so the manager sat and stared me the baby down as we walked out of the establishment making me very uncomfortable and uneasy with my child in my arms. read more

It was raining so live music was cancelled It was my first time there and had heard good things about it before. I can't say that if recommend it at all. If someone wanted to meet there I would not say no but at the same time I'd never suggest it either. All things combined, I'm gonna say 2.5 stars. If the food had been worth the wait I would've given them a 4 probably. The hours are pretty good. I had the salmon. It came with some lima beans and corn, which was, not the best combination. In my opinion I did have the cherry ricotta cheesecake for dessert. First let me say that I know the restaurant is brand new and there is a learning curve. Our server Dani was so friendly and so attentive. That being said, we were disappointed in the food. I had a bacon cheeseburger; something simple. The meat was overcooked and had zero seasoning. I even pulled out a piece of bacon and ate it by itself, you could barely taste it. My friend had the orange chicken sandwich and mashed potatoes. There was zero orange flavor in the chicken. No orange sauce, no orange anything. The chicken was overcooked and tough. The mashed potatoes tasted like potatoes. No seasoning or flavor at all. We were disappointed to say the least. I'm hoping they take constructive criticism and make some changes. My husband and I decided to try Whiskey Kitchen for the second time. It was not a good experience the first or second time. When we got there we were the only ones there except one other couple. We ordered a scotch and water and the waitress had no clue what that was. So my husband walked up to the bar to show her. When we got our scotch and water it was all water. So not to complain we ordered a glass of wine. We ordered a pizza that could have been cooked a little longer and had to ask for parm cheese and hot peppers. Meanwhile the waitress Brynna never checks back with us. Still only four people in there. Instead she stays at the bar area on her phone chit chatting with 2 other waitresses. I had to ask another waitress to tell Brynna we wanted our check. When she brought the check I told her that the drink was all water. So bottom line....we won't be back. Hidden gem!!! Amazing food, service and vibe! All food is FRESH not frozen and great qulaity! Backyard is beautiful and dog friendly too!

I highly recommend this place. We've been here three times now in the last week and I'm super excited that we have such a great restaurant with great food to come too daily. From the moment we walk in from the hostesses who were super bubbly and friendly to the bar who makes absolutely amazing martinis to the great servers to the cooks and delicious quality of food. Everything has exceeded our expectations. Love the outdoor patio with outside heaters. Everything we've had so far has been so good. You guys have earned a regular and super excited for you guys. I am visiting family here in Mount Dora and while looking for a restaurant for dinner came across the Whiskey Kitchen. So happy I did!! Everyone had a fabulous dinner. I had the blackened salmon on a garden salad. Salmon was good perfectly. We also had a great dessert. I really think our waitress, Brooke really made our night special. I was very excited to try the newly opened Whiskey Kitchen. The first time I attempted to go to this restaurant, I was turned away due to them running out of gas. Given this is a new restaurant, I figured I would give them another chance and let it slide... I went back for lunch and all I can say is I was taken back how unaware the staff is about everything regarding the restaurant. There is a sea of staff, however, I was completely ignored and treated with disrespect. We ordered the loaded fries (both kind) and spring rolls to start. The fries were good, but the portion size verses the price was insane to me. The spring rolls well, you can buy the exact brand at Trader Joe's for a third of the price. I ordered the kale and arugula blacked salmon salad... the salad had no kale, no arugula, just spring mix, chopped celery (random), tomatoes, and onions. The kicker is they don't have salad dressing... I was told there was a "house dressing"... instead I was met by surprise when I learned their house dressing is actually just balsamic vinegar glaze.. when I asked if there was like... actually salad dressing, the extremely RUDE server/ bartender with blonde hair and the tattoo on the back of her neck said "THIS IS JUST WHAT WE HAVE!!" Then rolled her eyes and walked away. After eating what was easily the saddest, overpriced salad of my life, I was given the bill which was on a portable credit card reader and the server didn't even know how to use the machine and they all complained about it (it's the easiest machine). The cherry on top is they charge a 4% service charge on credit card transactions. So if you want to be ignored, treated like garbage by staff, and have overpriced das food, I highly recommend. read more

First visit, enjoyed meal, only problem we had was credit card surcharge, when we got our bill the numbers didn't match menu prices, server said the difference was processing surcharge 4%, problem was that my beer was 7 dollars and on the bill the beer was 7.50, 7% not 4%, talked to the manager and she wasn't a mathematician, didn't understand my complaint. We arrived party of 4 and were ignored at the hostess stand. A server came over and started yelling at hostess for seating too many people. It was very uncomfortable because we were all just standing there not knowing what to do. After the server yelled at hostess we were still ignored. The server came back and told us to sit down and wait. We all sat down and waited yet was still not acknowledged by hostess as to how long we had to wait for table or what was happening. My sister approached hostess to ask and that same server came running over and told her to hold us there to wait longer without any explanation as to whether we would be able to eat there or not. It was very unprofessional of the staff to treat us this way. We left and went somewhere else. Also the parking lot is very dark and you can hardly see where you are walking even though it appears there are lights that for some reason are not turned on or who knows may not have light bulbs in them. We waited a few weeks after the opening to try out this restaurant. We visited on Saturday around 12:30 pm and were seated indoors promptly. We were provided a breakfast/"brunch" menu and thought it was a mistake but soon learned, that lunch is not served until 2:00 PM. We weren't too happy about the limited menu options considering our lunch mindset and neither were customers seated around us (3 tables seated near us, complained and one table of 4 walked out after learning the limited menu lunch option.) The waitress was nice but she had no control over the situation, this is a management decision. We had a glass of wine, no wine/beer menu provided, and the pour was about 3-4 oz. for $12. All in all clean, nice staff, poor menu choices for lunch and stingy wine pours. We won't be back....would not recommend. read more

the owner is ripping people off by charging a 4% surcharge for not just credit cards, but also debit cards, which is the same as cash. i have owned a retail business before and realize that credit card companies charge a fee but not for debit cards. why should the residents of mt dora have to pay for his fees he has the unmitigated audacity to attempt to steal another 4 % for you if you use your debit card, which is the same as cash. terrible policy, and i realize why he wants you to pay cash to avoid the ripoff as it is not traceable. stay away from this place. tom mt dora read more

We keep trying this restaurant as we like to support local businesses. Today was our last visit. We waited for an hour for our food. My husband's meal was cold and his English muffin was untoasted with no butter. I ordered the corned beef hash omelet and received an omelet with crispy hash brown potatoes, absolutely no corned beef hash. I heard another diner tell the waitress she received only potatoe omelet also. I felt bad for the wait staff, there was only 2 of them. This restaurant obviously has management problems. They denied me service when i went in to eat breakfast. Online it says they serve breakfast until 2, however this is false advertisement, I went in at 1pm and was handed a breakfast menu and had ordered just 10 minutes later, our server came back and had informed us they were no longer serving breakfast. I had drove 45 minutes to try their breakfast pizza and was very disappointed in their service. After being told this and then given their lunch menu it took over an hour to finally get 2 chicken Cesar salads. The restaurant was not busy and many tables were empty at this time. This place is better for couples or adult gatherings as the menu is a little more pricey than traditional family style restaurants. Had pizza and a burger. Pizza was good but a little overdone and burned on edges, toppings sparse. Burger ordered medium, but served rare. Kitchen still learning. they were out of a few cocktails and wine, so still figuring out ordering, which for a new place makes sense. no mention of happy hour specials on drinks or appetizers, would be a good addition.
