Well I wouldn't recommend Whiskey Hollow, the owner of it left quite a few people high and dry. However there is now a bar called The 1845 in the same location that is a great place to go. The friendly staff, the great bartender Josh, its like the show Cheers. I highly recommend The 1845, it's way better than the overpriced liquor that the "master distiller" Les use to boast about. read more

I love Texas! We have the best Whiskey Spotted a billboard off I-35 on the way to Winstar and had to stop. This very little spot has a great vibe. Everyone was so nice, and felt like family the min we walked in. Stranger sharing their drink, guiding us on what to try. Grabbed a pickle moonshine & a Painkiller for the road (Got our To-Go for Winstar) Can't wait to go back when we can spend more time checking out the little town square. read more

My husband and I were driving through town, and I wanted to stop at a winery on the square, but they were closed, and now I'm glad they were. We saw this place was open so popped in here instead. We tasted some moonshine and whiskeys and had a couple of cocktails, and now I'm headed home with a big ole bottle of watermelon moonshine. Open for 10 years, they distill all of the liquor they sell. Josh and Trevor are the best. It's in a historic bank building on the square in Valley View. No food, but you can bring it in from the neighboring Restaraunts. Offering high end Rum, whiskey, bourbon Vodka and moonshine, it does no disappoint! read more

BEST KEPT SECRET IN TEXAS! Love, Love, Love this place! The Gentleman who took care of us and educated us on the Whiskey was Outstanding! The Whiskey at $150 a Bottle was "maybe next time" but enjoyed drinking some at the Distillery! Also enjoyed a Sample of Moonshine and Bought a Bottle of the Regular Moonshine to take Home! Wife ordered a Mojito and he had to go back into the Garden behind the Distillery to pick fresh MINT. That was it for my wife. She just loved that part. Don't miss this place if Traveling up North from Dallas to Oklahoma. read more

This place has a small tasting room with a variety of things to taste. They experiment a lot with flavored moonshine. They also make a few rums. The silver rum has some whisky notes to it since they age in the same barrels. The 15 was quite potent and I couldn't drink it. They also had a bourbon but the cost was quite high at $150 / bottle. However they will give you a sample of the three rums and the bourbon for just $5. read more

Located in the tiny tiny tiny town of Valley view, there's not much else in the town except this little distillery. It is very plain from the front, and not much on the inside either. Whiskey tastings were only five dollars though so it was a pretty good deal. The rum and vodka were not that great, but the moonshine and bourbon were. read more

Yesterday was our first visit to this awesome location. Josh was the bartender, server and was very informative about all they made and served. We had the sampler of rum, bourbon and moonshine. All was good. Josh gave us his recommendations and made us feel very welcomed. A great little surprise stop on our way to Oklahoma. Great moonshine tasting. Les was very informative and he was funny. He had lots of stories to tell us. We got a chance to taste rum, bourbon and moonshine. I can't remember how many different tastings we got but it was good. They even have a pickle juice flavor moonshine. I believe the tasting was only $10 but it's definitely worth it. We came here after visiting Winstar, and this was a rustic, quaint distillery. The whiskey is great and reasonably priced. We had the flight (2 oz for $5). You'll pay over $5 for a shot anywhere. Also, the guys there were really nice. Stop by, you won't be disappointed! Oh and make sure to visit the bathroom. I felt like a queen walking to the toilet. read more

Apparently it's a well designed advertisement with eloquent details about Whiskey Hollow Distillery. At 80 mph, in my just-lost-money state of agitation, all I saw were 3 magical words. Whiskey. Next. Exit. Best tire screeching, three lane change, downshift move I've ever made. NASCAR afficianados would have been cheering. We pulled into the tiny square of Valley View, tires still smoking. There, on the corner, stands a monument to American greed and romantic criminal folklore, the First National Bank of Valley View. Bonny and Clyde made a withdrawal here, guns blazing, many years before the first drops of whiskey filtered through the charred white oak barrels that adorn the old bank lobby now. Stop in.
