    Tomato basil soup

We really enjoyed our meal out on the patio at Lockwood. They were able to confirm that the tomato basil soup and dirty south tots were vegetarian, and both were delicious! The salad was underwhelming for the price, but my family really enjoyed the fried chicken sandwich and shrimp and grits. Both items were very rich but delicious. I would love to see an additional vegetarian entree or sandwich on the menu since options were a bit limited.

Service was great from start to finish. Devil eggs were very good and I can be pretty picky on my devil eggs. We could have skipped on the pork rinds, they were very crunchy with no fatty parts and also lacked any flavor. I got the flight which I enjoyed sipping on. Really liked the Single Barrel. Tots were very good.

Had a great experience at Lockwood Distilling when visiting the Dallas area. Came right before 5pm and they had happy hour going. Our server was friendly and the place had plenty of seating to pick from. We got to try multiple flights on their spirits. I tried their Lockwood flights which came with vodka, hibiscus vodka, gin and cream bourbon. I enjoyed the vodka and gin. The hibiscus vodka was sweeter than I thought but ended up tasting like NyQuil and the bourbon cream was too sweet for me. All interesting and would be great in cocktails so don't be afraid to try! For food, I got the tomato basil soup and half grilled cheese sandwich which was fantastic. I devoured the whole thing. My party also ordered the shrimp and grits which they enjoyed very much. Another person got the tender plate which was huge : came with 4 tenders (more like cutlets), Mac and cheese and a container of tots. The tots were terribly overfried. Hard as a rock! Otherwise, we enjoyed our evening of drinks, good food and great vibes. Would highly recommend.

9/18/25: This was our first visit. My neighbor and I stopped by for lunch, and sat by the bar. The bartender was very friendly and she went over the drink and food menu with us. There was plenty of seating and the areas looked very clean. I had their Hibiscus vodka with lemonade, and my neighbor had an Old Fashioned. The pastrami sandwich was very good. I highly recommend it. Their tater tots dish was also good, and shareable. We would definitely stop by again. There was plenty of parking available.

I've been here several times (as well as the Downtown McKinney location) and will be back for their next Get Lit book fair! Once our reservation was cancelled due to a private event conflict and we were offered a round of free drinks and an appetizer. We shared their wonderful charcuterie board and I had their dirty turbo vodka martini (so good I have a bottle at home.) I've also enjoyed several entrées here like the pastrami sandwich and the chicken tender dinner with gouda mac and cheese. Just thinking about them has me salivating!

The food here is always really good as well as the drinks. I love sitting outside but I do remember at one point, the owner said they were going to install fans in the patio. It's been two years and still no fans. Our server forgot about us three times this last visit. "Would you like another drink?" And then when she finally came back the next time to see how we were doing, we had to remind her about our drinks. With all of that said, we didn't get to spend as much money there as we wanted to because our drinks were empty for most of the time. No biggy. My wallet is thankful.

I was craving something warm and boozy so my friend and I decided to check this place out and had the best time! This distillery and restaurant was super clean and had such a comfortable family atmosphere and a nice sized patio. I especially loved the live music being played on the patio. The manager Tony was so nice and welcoming and gave us a complete run down of the distillery, cocktails and the stories behind them, which made the experience that much better. Every cocktail we tried was spectacular ! My friend started with the Rosemary Lavendar Gimlet and I had the seasonal Gingerbread Hot Toddy which was SOOOO good! We a tried the Lockwood Sazerac, Black Currant Hibiscus Froze, and the Little Red Corvette . As a person who typically doesn't order frozen drinks the Little Red Corvette was definitely one of the best frozen drinks I've ever had, it had such a unique and balanced taste and it was not overbearingly sweet. Just when you thought it couldn't get any better, they've also got great food! I enjoyed the Vegan Bahn and tater tots and my friend enjoyed the Dirty South Tots and Tomato Basil Soup! Everything was delicious! It's safe to say we LOVED IT and had such an amazing time. We will definitely be back sooner rather than later!!

Came to do a vendor fair on Sunday afternoon. Met lots of great new folks and the staff at Lockwood are the nicest. Great service and cocktails- it was so hot we did not try any food but will be back.

This place got on my radar because it was voted among the best spots for pastrami in the metroplex. I looked at the other reviews, and I see other Yelpers photos of bright red, thick hand sliced pastrami. It looks great. But take a look at what I was served. It was machine sliced thin and brown, like it had been sitting so long it turned colors. It was dry and honestly didn't taste like pastrami, more like dry thin sliced smoked brisket. Yes, I know pastrami is brisket but this tasted more like the brisket you get at Dickeys. I tasted no pastrami seasoning. I mean just look at it. My server was so nice and friendly, and if it were not for that I would give this one star. She asked if the food was good, and I said it was good, because I don't like to make a fuss while I am there and I don't like to send food back. Maybe I should have said something but I just don't like confrontations. Make it right the first time. The kitchen knows what it is serving.

I have been wanting to try out this distillery for years, as I have heard so many great things about the food!!! I have had their vodka and rum in prior years and new they were a great brand, so I just knew hearing of all the good food, that it was a must to and visit! I came in town to celebrate Father's Day, so this was the time now to try, as our family loves trying out locally owned, and Texas grown places! Reservations were easy to make through the Resy app, and easy to update as well. We had a change in headcount and called morning of and they were super helpful to update the change for us. We arrived and it's nestled away into Richardson, not too far off the beaten path, but feels like it. When you walk in, we were immediately greeted by some smiling hosts that whisked us right away to our table. On our way, we saw the gorgeous bar, outfitted in Lockwood deco/bottles!!! We were sat in front of some of the big distillers and facing into one of the tasting rooms as well, as they do tours here! We were greeted by our fabulous waiter Katie, who was just awesome! She held her own with our table, filling waters throughout the course of our dining experience, and I must say, the water is 10 out of 10 because they distill it also. I think they need to bottle that up and sell it as well!!! We ordered a few rounds of appetizers, the deviled eggs, pork rinds and truffle tots! Everything was delicious, the eggs (top notch!!!), I love anything truffle, so that was definitely a win win. We all ordered a variety of entrees and drinks throughout our stay, and nothing came out short of perfection. Every drink was well thought out and perfect to taste, just as well as the food. Everything was hot and fresh and you knew it was good when you could get the Tillman's to be quiet!! Hah! IYKYK!! Anywho, my parents have already gone back for another visit since, so I'd say this was a way to represent TX with good food, drinks, and Katie, our amazing server!

This distillery has a lot of fun things going on. They have an easy parking lot with plenty of parking. You can host events in their back brewing area. They have live music from time to time which is a great scene. I really liked that they had a bologna on their menu and tons of eclectic items on their menu& Their espresso martini was tasty.

We had a great experience at Lockwood Distilling today! For starters, the decor, merch, ambiance and food presentation were all very intentional and well done. More importantly, the service, food and spirits were exceptional. Gigi, our server, was fantastic and very knowledgeable about their menu and spirits. I had the Roasted Poblano soup and a Pastrami (homemade) sandwich (on Gluten Free bread, which as a celiac I appreciate the option). Both were delicious! Will definitely return next time I'm in Richardson area!

I had an amazing time at the Lockwood Whiskey Tasting and Touring! Our tour guide Jake (not from State Farm) went above & beyond for me when he found it was my birthday! The staff as a whole were all super sweet and friendly! Definitely worth the visit!

Tucked away in the cooling shade of a pecan orchard, this distillery is a hidden gem just outside of Dallas that deserves a spot on every whiskey lover's map. If you're traveling the Lonestar Whiskey Trail, make sure 1845 is on your itinerary--you'll be glad you did. Bob's Southern hospitality made us feel right at home. He gave us a personal tour of their still house, bottling facility, and beautiful rickhouse, sharing their vision for future expansion along the way. You can feel the pride, purpose, and family spirit in every detail of the operation. After the tour, we settled into their cozy tasting room and recorded an episode of The Whiskey Trip--surrounded by great whiskey, good conversation, and genuine Texas charm. And then there's the whiskey. Their rye bourbon absolutely blew my mind. It had every note and nuance I look for--bold, balanced, and beautifully crafted. Maybe it's the influence of those pecan trees, their precision German stills, or Miguel's talent behind the spirit--whatever the magic is, I was hooked from the first sip. 1845 Distilling is more than worth the trip--it's a shining example of craftsmanship, family, and true Texas hospitality. But from the very first phone call, Sophie at Blackland Distillery showed nothing but grace and patience. She allowed us to keep pushing back our reservation without a hint of frustration, and that alone deserves a standing ovation. When we finally arrived, what could've been a ruined evening turned into one of the most memorable nights we've had. Every single person we encountered at Blackland was incredibly kind and welcoming. Marshall greeted us with warmth, and Jeremy? He's not just a bartender--he's a cocktail artist. The drinks he crafted for us were next-level, easily some of the best we've ever had. He truly understands spirits and how to elevate them. We were genuinely torn when it was time to leave for our dinner reservation at Wicked Butcher--honestly, we could've stayed sipping Jeremy's creations all night. He told us about the beginnings of the distillery, how he and his partner got started, and how they have continued to evolve. Their attention to details are unmatched. I stumbled across this spot from Yelp and when I drove up, I thought there was no way this was a bar we wanted to be at. When I arrived, I was kindly greeted a worker named Ray. New Artisan Distillery obviously distills their own liquor - vodka, gin and bourbon - and they have a tasting room/bar where you can test this liquor out. The gin was our favorite because of how smooth it was. What was neat was after we tasted each of the liquors, Ray then made us custom drinks from herbiage in their front gardens. Each drink was handmade and only $12/each. He did a tremendous job explaining how this liquor company came to be, how their logo/bottle was designed and the background of their spot. Ray made the experience very fun and it was a great spot to stumble on. Highly recommend.
