This place really is disgusting. I've eaten here twice. Both times were horrible. The wait is never short. The times I've been here I've gotten hamburgers and or corndogs, they've always been burnt on the outside, and cold or raw in the middle. Adjust your temp, learn how to cook. I also deliver DoorDash. Every time I come here, it is an exercise and frustration. They are very rarely ever ready, and the people are just disgusting. It is not a clean establishment. My husband had a keto style cheeseburger and chicken strips were ordered ( mainly for our 3 dogs we had in tow) I had the long hot dog with mustard ( my personal favorite) and a lemon milkshake. Everything was delicious, from the chicken strips ( 3 barks per the dogs hehe) to the keto burger ( juicy and flavorful beef with all the fixings, minus the bun) the hot dog was split then it then grilled(can I get an amen?) and the shake was creamy, thick and the lemon flavor was just right. I bought a Mushroom & Swiss burger. The burger itself was great. The fires all of them are crispy golden brown, the fry sauce is a plus! If you're looking for a place that is simple. Here from Colorado and WOW, this place is delicious! I got the bacon avocado burger, the patty has an amazing flavor. 10/10! Service was good also! Greeted me and said good morning. Not sure why I tried it out after reading the negative reviews. I guess I'm a sucker for giving chances and high hopes. I love old school drive-thrus and their classic greasy burgers, less-than-unhealthy milkshakes and nostalgic ambiance. You don't visit these places with high expectations, and that's what typically makes them okay. Not with Wheeler's, I am very sad to say. I'm waiting for my husband while he does his engineering magic and whatnot off Caldwell Blvd when all the sudden I get a craving for a burger. Wheeler's is 6 minutes down the road so away I go. The line is long, as expected. I order the Wheeler's Special (hand patted long burger served with special sauce, lettuce, onion, pickle, tomato, and American cheese with choice of french fries, tator tots or homemade onion rings & fountain drink, $8.75). This is their signature item. It's basically a burger in a hot dog bun. Nicely put, I was not impressed. My already low expectations were not met. First off, there was hardly ANY meat! For $8.75 you'd think I'd get a decent amount. Or enough so I could tell it was there. The patty was smashed down so thin, I could hardly taste it while being overwhelmed by bread and whatever the heck their burger sauce is made out of (it's really nothing special, just fry sauce). It was also so small! The tots and fry sauce were good but that alone doesn't warrant the ridiculous price for this abomination. I used to be a regular here, but when I had arrived a few days ago, I saw a lady that seemed like the manager yelling at the only young man on shift. He looked to be only about a teenager. It seemed unwarranted for and made my dining experience not as enjoyable and easygoing as previous times. I felt so bad for the young man, it's hard to keep supporting this establishment. read more

If you are looking for a greasy burger and tots (or fries), then a greasy burger and tots you shall get. I have come here when I need something "quick" and I don't have to battle a cross traffic turn, cool, it is on my right. Their long burger is something that makes them standout. I don't think it is a bad burger at all. Do I have my favorites, yes, but this wasn't my worst by far. My burger was fresh with some sauce and a warm bun with fixings. Tots were hots! Fries were Nies! (Nice, get it?! I am being funny.) The couple of young ladies that have helped me are so friendly! One of them I asked what color are your onions and she got a good giggle out that question and told me she had never heard that one before. (Red/purple onions stay with me for days!) She is obviously young and has never had indigestion. They are white onions for the record. She is a funny one. The wait for food can be a bit long but I am glad my food isn't sitting under a heat lamp for hours, silver lining. Those fries and tots are spot on hot! I don't go here for award winning food. I go to places like these for the experience. To pretend I am back in the day. I love how Idaho has tried to preserve the old drive-thru. Tried this for dinner tonight. Wasn't impressed at all. My burger was soaked in Mayo and soggy and couldn't enjoy it. I only asked for it on it just not so much I didn't need the whole tub. I've lived in nampa for 5 years and drive by wheelers almost daily. tonight, we wanted to try it but i looked at the reviews and got SUPER skeptical. i ended up asking my friends on facebook how they liked it and everyone said it was good, so we have it a shot! Surprised by the negative reviews here. Bobby Flay quality it's not, but we both liked our juicy and tasty burgers. And my wife isn't a burger fan. I had a single burger on a longish bun, meat was cooked medium but still juicy, pairing nicely with the soft, Hawaiian-style bun. Loaded, it came with good shredded lettuce/onion mixture, flavorful tomato, pickles, and a special sauce that wasn't too sweet. Everything worked together, both texture-wise and flavor. It was a memorable burger that we'll go back for. The onion rings are batter-style, very good. The only negative were the dated tablecloths, but at least the outdoor dining was in the shade, unlike Blazen Burgers down the street where if you want to eat on-site, it's in the full sun. Next time, we'll probably do what others do, and eat in the car. read more

This is a proper old-school burger joint that knows how to make the best malts in the county. Seriously, they blow Dairy Queen out of the water. Their burgers, tots, and other offerings are also quite good (not gourmet, but a solid meal with plenty of greasy finger-licking goodness). The prices are slightly higher than expected from a drive-through, and the service can take a while (don't feel rushed if you want to order). WHY! Been eating here since the 70's. Why change a classic that made you stand out and be different from all the other fast food restaurants?! The long bun burger with a toasted bun was the best! Before the change I would have gladly given Wheelers a 5 star review. Now it is just a heavy greasy doorstop of a burger that you can get anywhere else in town. Tried the long burger and a side of onion rings. The burger is on a hoagie style bun and not shaped like your traditional circular hamburger patty (it's rectangular). I had mine with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles. The beef itself didn't have much going for flavor, and the bread to beef ratio was off (far too much bread for a thin patty). This is the absolute worst place I've ever been to Nampa so far and I've been going to places for 27 years. Eating this food was like being thrown back into Vietnam. The smell of rotten flesh like eating a steak Mre dropping it on the ground picking it back up and eating that would taste better than this food. If you want to know what a prisoner at Gautonomo Bay eats try this food. I don't know if you ever had to eat a steak mre out of a dead body before but you don't want to you don't want to try this food.
