First, we waited nearly 20 minutes after our server brought our drinks before she even came back to take our order. Then we waited over an hour for our food. When it finally arrived, two of our plates were nachos absolutely smothered in onions. The problem? Onions were not listed as an ingredient on the menu. Had they been listed, we would have ordered something else or asked for them to be left off. And as if the entire experience wasn't already disappointing enough, as we were leaving, the owner/manager actually told us to "have a mediocre night." Well... mission accomplished. After waiting nearly 20 minutes just to order, more than an hour for food, receiving food that wasn't prepared as described on the menu, and then being sent off with that kind of attitude, I can confidently say we won't be making that stop again. Sometimes it's not the food that ruins the experience--it's the complete lack of service and customer appreciation.

Ordered a pizza, wingdings which I was informed was supposed to be whole wings which they were not, and a chicken wrap. Pizza and wings were good. Slightly disappointed with the chicken wrap. Maybe you have to eat it as soon as you get it because I waited the next day to eat it. Overall it wasn't a bad place. A bar type vibe. The owner was behind the bar, and his wife Rene' behind the scenes. Had a few beverages and each ordered a beef tenderloin sandwich and shared fried cheese curds. The curds were crispy and everything a good fried curd should be. The beef tenderloin was juicy, fork tender and delicious. Nicely served on a sizzling platter and perfectly cooked. Mentioned our difficulty in finding a campground that wasn't full, and were immediately introduced to a couple that was staying nearby in a local campground. Conversation led us to a website and we were booked into a very nice site. ( On an August weekend, an open site is hard to find anywhere.) We were aware of that but just wandering and hoping. Anyway Rene's was a stroke of luck. Excellent food, really nice folks, and a score on a campsite. When she took a dinner order from a table seated fully 10-15 minutes AFTER us, my husband, who had the patience of a saint, decided it was time to leave. We have never been treated like that, and certainly have never left a restaurant after being seated. I'm still shocked. The food may be delicious--it certainly smelled good--but we never got to try it!

What even is this place? I walked into a nostalgic wonderland of vinyl records, a jukebox, buckets…read morefull of giant dice, walls of vintage beer cans, a mini Ms. PacMan game, a Ray Charles image in the window, a plastic reindeer suspended on the ceiling and lots more tchotchkes and pop culture ephemera. I loved Bridge Up Brewing even before I tasted their beer. This is a little local Wisconsin brewery located on the basement-level of the building that houses Sonny's Italian Kitchen. When you walk into the lobby, instead of walking up the steps to Sonny's, take the ramp down below to Bridge Up and enjoy a beer or a flight of beers. They have a small menu of appetizers, mostly wings and fried things, but if you want a full meal, you should probably go upstairs to Sonny's. I didn't want a full meal, so I stayed at Bridge Up and ordered a flight of beers. One of them was a sour (I love sours), and the others were some of the more popular beer flavors. I picked the U-Pick, which is a flavored with Door County cherries, and was one of my favorites. The others were the higher ABV beers: Flip Flops and Bikini Tops (an imperial IPA) and Stubborn Sturgeon (a New England hazy IPA). I loved all of the beers I chose, but the cherry-flavored U-Pick was my favorite. When in Door County, always choose the cherry-flavored thing! If Bridge Up has U-Pick available when you visit, I highly suggest trying it. The people who work here are very friendly but also stay out of your way, which I appreciated. They encourage you to play something on the jukebox, so go ahead and put on your favorite songs.
