What even is this place? I walked into a nostalgic wonderland of vinyl records, a jukebox, buckets full of giant dice, walls of vintage beer cans, a mini Ms. PacMan game, a Ray Charles image in the window, a plastic reindeer suspended on the ceiling and lots more tchotchkes and pop culture ephemera. I loved Bridge Up Brewing even before I tasted their beer. This is a little local Wisconsin brewery located on the basement-level of the building that houses Sonny's Italian Kitchen. When you walk into the lobby, instead of walking up the steps to Sonny's, take the ramp down below to Bridge Up and enjoy a beer or a flight of beers. They have a small menu of appetizers, mostly wings and fried things, but if you want a full meal, you should probably go upstairs to Sonny's. I didn't want a full meal, so I stayed at Bridge Up and ordered a flight of beers. One of them was a sour (I love sours), and the others were some of the more popular beer flavors. I picked the U-Pick, which is a flavored with Door County cherries, and was one of my favorites. The others were the higher ABV beers: Flip Flops and Bikini Tops (an imperial IPA) and Stubborn Sturgeon (a New England hazy IPA). I loved all of the beers I chose, but the cherry-flavored U-Pick was my favorite. When in Door County, always choose the cherry-flavored thing! If Bridge Up has U-Pick available when you visit, I highly suggest trying it. The people who work here are very friendly but also stay out of your way, which I appreciated. They encourage you to play something on the jukebox, so go ahead and put on your favorite songs. read more

Went here to pick up some beer on a Saturday night after seeing that it was the newer brewery in town and it was pretty close to our Airbnb. The parking lot was packed, which we were kind of worried about with social distancing, but luckily for us, the tap room wasn't that full and people were spaced. Everyone seemed to be at the restaurant upstairs. They have a cooler with packs of beer that you can purchase, and then they also do crowlers from the tap. We ended up going with a crowler of the chocolate peanut butter banana beer, which was one of their new beers, and then two cans of some of their standards, the 1851 lager and the knee high cream ale. Oddly the 1851 had a more creamy taste to us than the cream ale. The highlight was the chocolate peanut butter banana. You could definitely get the notes of peanut butter as it sat in your mouth, and the banana came in the afternotes almost in a hefeweizen style. We are fans! It almost reminded us of the peanut butter porter from Dangerous Man Brewing in Minneapolis, which is definitely a favorite. The atmosphere is also very fun with the walls covered in beer memorabilia complete with bottle cap art! They also have a pretty solid record collection. When the weather warms up a bit more I could see this being a packed tap room as its right on the water. We'll be sure to stop back next time we're up to see what new brews there are! read more

Great stop on a cold winter day. Good selection of beer-especially if you like stout/porter (and it is winter). Cool decor and setting/location. Would love to come back in nicer weather to enjoy the outdoor space. Worth the trip. read more

Really good beer especially if you like hazy ipa, huge sift pretzel seriously huge. beautiful view. That's the big draw the view. I'd definitely skip the pizza from Sonny's it's pretty bad. Get a pretzel drink a brew and watch the sunset. read more

Bridge Up Brewing is a very small brewing in the lower level of Sonny's Pizzeria. They've been open since January 2019, and Sonny's is the only place that you can try their beer as they will have three or four beers on tap. As I was having lunch I tried their IPA which was great! It was crisp with a nice amount of hops, making it a pretty solid IPA. Later I sampled the Mexican Hot Chocolate Stout. That was decent too, but wasn't as exciting. After my meal, I went to check out their space. It's small as they have few small tanks and I saw the owner working. The owner, Trent, came out and started talking to me. It was neat to hear about the different beers he's had and been working on. The plan is to make part of the lower level a tap room and to have four to six beers on tap, plus a couple of guest taps. It sounds like it will be a great space especially if you have to wait for a table when going to Sonny's. Trent was very nice and down to earth and excited to come back next March when they plan on having the tap room done. read more

Excellent small, quirky, comfortable, friendly taproom. A portion with couches that felt like a basement rec room. Great and fairly large outdoor pati with wonderful views of sunset over harbor. Very good beer - previous review mentioned stouts in the winter( but their IPA's (multiple hazy choices) were also great in early summer. read more
