This winery has it all. Tastings for Wine, Booze, Olive Oils and Vinegars. That also have samples of some foods such as mustards and jellies. With the wine, you can taste up to 5 wines for free. (They have a huge list to chose from). The people offering the samples were awesome. Friendly, fun and informative. They do lose a star from me because I was upset the pricing of some items. I like something called Corsica Bread, which is made locally in Door County. I bought a bag for the price of $15.99. I found these exact same bags at 3 other locations (one right across the street at Door County Coffee) for $11.99. Yeah, it was only $4... but that's a pretty severe mark up! Made me wonder how much higher every thing else is marked up at this store? But we did get some free samples so I guess we did end up paying for them!

Our Airbnb host recommended this winery for wine tasting when we were in Door County and I'm so glad for it! Once we got there we found out we get 5 free samples each and their wine menu has 70+ wines including reds, whites, blends, dries, sweets, themed, and everything in between. The staff was super sweet and checked in with us regularly without making us feel rushed. There were also pretzel sticks to munch on during the wine tastings. I do kind of wish there were seats around the bar so we didn't have to stand the entire time, but still a good experience! In addition to the free wine sampling, they also had free samples of other things including fudge, olive oil and balsamic vinegar with little cubes of bread, mustards, and salsas. They also have a distillery! We took a free tour that was very intimate (six of us with a tour guide) and good enough for a free tour. There were tons of shopping options in the store on top of the alcohol. The only regret I have is not trying any of their liquors or cocktails on the distillery side of things. I would definitely come back to try some of the other wines and spend more time at the distillery!

This winery is also a distillery with 2 different tasting rooms. Tasting rooms and retail upstairs. Downstairs is the bathroom and barrel. Our bartender was very nice and knowledgeable of the different wines. The list is huge to choose from. They also have a covered patio area in the back you can order drinks and live singer during the weekend. Huge parking lot in the back.

Door Peninsula winery was by far our favorite winery we visited on our small self-led winery tour. It had the widest selection and had free tastings- you can't beat that! You walk into the winery and you're met with a large room full of some sample of oil, vinegar, and mustard. They also have various spreads, cheeses, and snacks available to purchase. Then, you walk up a short staircase into the wine room, and to the left is the tasting room. They offer 5 free samples of any of the wines on their menu, and man it is expansive! You can find something for just about everyone!! Some of the favorites to call out are the cherry port, the cherry mead, maple frost, plum loco, and frostline. But all were very good! They had pretzels for you to snack on, which was a nice touch. They had a very large selection, and you can purchase a bottle when you're done! The staff was so helpful and very attentive. It felt fun, casual, and relaxed! I noticed they also have a wine bar and distillery, so they really have it all! This is definitely the place to be, it was super fun! We left with a few bottles :)

This was our favorite winery we stopped at in Door County!! The tasting was actually free, and the guy pouring the wine was outstanding, very talkative and knew a lot about the products. The place is HUGE. It is connected to the distillery and there is ton to shop from. The wine list was also massive. Something for everyone. They sold cute clothing, gift items, spices, olive oil, fudge, the works! We highly recommend their famed cherry mimosa. It will not disappoint. We ended up driving home with four bottles of wine and a hoodie! We would definitely come back and spend more time here. The wine was great and the staff were very friendly.

This was our first Door County winery visit, and it was a treat. Here you get 5 complimentary wine samples per person, which was quite nice. Daniel and Alicia were the friendly, welcoming, and energetic hosts on duty today. There was a pretty big mid-afternoon retirees-looking gathering for the freebies. We all just happily stood around the wine bar, and it looked like there were two wine bars actually. I had a sampling of 5 reds and the wife settled on a couple of white ones. This winery is prominently advertised on the main Highway 42 and I have a feeling it may be the biggest and maybe the most touristy one on the peninsula. I also mean touristy here in a nice way in that it's set up for big crowds, has a big parking lot, has a lot of kick-knacks, wine products, and souvenirs on display in stylish, modern, and well-kept showrooms. They are also co-located with Door County Distillery where you can pay for liquor samples, which we'll try some other time. I honestly never noticed this big winery in the past because I always had my eye on Door County Coffee right across the street when in this Carlsville area. Great first visit for us, and it sets us up for some benchmarking of this popular Door County activity. I'm not sure if many of the wineries offer complimentary tastings. I didn't buy any wine this time. Everything I tasted was in the "drinkable" range though, ha. I did particularly like the oaked cabernet sauvignon. I also thought a blackberry merlot was an interesting taste in that it was a flavored wine instead of say a flavored water or soft drink. I would add that if you're from Chicagoland like many visitors are, that you don't visit here and plan on making the drive back that evening. Though they are just samples, you are putting them away pretty quickly. I was anyway duh and lol.

Libations options galore from all the colors of the rainbow of flavors in wines, hard ciders and spirits. This is a must see in the door! 5 free samples per person. Excellent gift shop with very special varieties of anything special you're looking or not looking for.

Decent wines, especially friendly staff, and best of all, free tasting (at least in 2019). Theirs are the mass appeal wines that this area is known for, along with low prices and an almost ridiculously large selection. This is a must-taste winery, even if you're a wine snob, just don't come here expecting 95 point fine varietals.

I do not like this place…read more Ordered a $15 flight of wine, which included a free sample of the Oompa Blue. The Blue was tasty, and one other wine was acceptable, but the other wine offerings were downright bad. One even tasted and smelled like cleaning solution. Each glass had the same dusty smell to it, so I question the cleanliness of the establishment. Also, the seating area by the bar had decent music playing but the staff also had a television running at the same time, and this created a terrible cacophony. Thankfully, the staff muted the television when requested. Ordered some garlic cheese bread, too. The bread itself was flavorful, and well seasoned, but it was served with a small bowl of ice-cold marinara sauce. The hot food and cold sauce did not pair well together at all. Note on the staff: the kitchen staff were seated at the bar when I arrived, and I could hear their loud, curse-word laden conversations. That's not cool at all. Additionally, not a single staff member was personable; they seemed to barely tolerate my presence. Don't go here. There are many, many other better wineries nearby.

This is a great winery that happens to be in Door County. However, it is NOT a 'Door County…read morewinery'! Don't come here if you're hopping from winery to winery (you will be sorely disappointed when faced with real wine). If you've never heard of vitis vinifera, this winery is NOT for you. It IS, however, for those who appreciate fine wines (as opposed to the alcoholic fruit beverages served at most Wisconsin wineries). Stone's Throw appears to be one of only three Wisconsin wineries producing truly fine wines (along with Blind Horse Winery in Kohler and Von Stiehl Winery in Algoma). Yes, the atmosphere is pretentious. But that pairs well with their fine Zinfandel. I was so impressed, I joined their wine club. Cheers! I will work on getting them to provide palate cleansing crackers and water with their tastings, but the lack thereof is a minor weakness.

Once we did eat it, we liked everything! Our main complaint was that we felt like the staff was annoyed that we were there. We came in with a reservation for 7 people and when we told the hostess they said "seven?" with a bit of a tone. We were met with several eye rolls throughout our experience, like when we asked for an extra plate, napkin, fork, and our bill (they did not bring enough for our whole party). There was nice live music being played and it's beautiful outside. There was a nail sticking out of the table and we mentioned it and they just said "okay" with no apology or solution which I also thought was odd. The stools were also pretty high up for the table, so we could not fit our legs underneath. I think our server was very stressed because it seemed to be fairly understaffed and I think that dipped into the level of service. Management or ownership definitely needs to find more staff or step in as servers, because it seemed like 3 servers were responsible for the entire place. I wouldn't be back, but I could guess the service would be better if they had more staff, which I know can be tricky toward the end of summer. It's a beautiful place in a great location, they just could use more staff so they are not so overwhelmed.

This business makes there own Beer, wine and alcohol products where the diversity of what they make is kind of amazing considering the footprint/size of their facility. Relative to the tastings, these are free of charge where customers are encouraged to tip instead to show their appreciation for what they have been served. Duriing our trip here we tasted numerous spirits to include their house made gin, rum, vodka, Brandy, Bourbon and various flavored moonshines. I thought the liquors with the exception of the Moonshines were just OK but the moonshines were surprisingly quite good. These 60 proof drinks come across like a liquor based on the alcohol by volume content with a similar creamy texture. The flavor profiles are quite unique to anything I have ever tasted before where their flavors include Grandma's Apple Pie, Salted Caramel, Orange Slice and Lemon Drop shine to name just some of them. Every Moonshine bottle we tasted was so tasty where I was really enamored with all of them and at the end of the day ended up buying the Lemon Drop and salted Caramel although it was hard to stop at just these two. Relative to the facility it has a non descript outer view where the inside comes across more of a typical bar venue more so than a winery/distillery which is a bit deceiving in my mind considering how much product they make here. No stacked wine barrels or a sneak peak of the Distillery or Barrel rooms to reinforce what this business is and add the cute ambiance you get at many of the wineries I visit. Relative to Staff, They were exceptionally friendly and good on the repours for our free tasting which definately added a lot to our tasting event. Overall a very pleasant time was had by our group where I see myself returning again in the future and sampling their other ware's and probably buying more moonshine!
