I was mainly looking for an apple orchard but I won't turn down a winery/cidery/meadery option as well. This place isn't very big but they really pack in a lot of product in such a small footprint. Cheese, apples, honey, soap, syrup, etc. A great place to do some holiday shopping for the foodie in your family. Daily tastings are offered for only $6 for 5 samples and you pick from grape wine, fruit wine, cider and mead all produced onsite. We enjoyed all of the samplings we tried and ended up buying a few bottles of wine and mead to take back home with us. Prices are very reasonable and comparable, especially with their products being made with local, fresh ingredients. But back to the main reason why I had come to this place, apples. I was on the lookout for one of my favorite heirloom apples (Jonathans) while in Wisconsin and with Hammen's offering 250 varieties of apple varieties, I was sure to have luck on finding them. And I did! It was fun to walk the aisles of fresh apples and see what other unique varieties teased my interest. And at an affordable price point (I think it was only a couple dollars per pound), it was really easy to be adventurous and try out a few new to me types. I'm dropping a pin on the map - this place will definitely be a fresh apple pickup destination for me and the family seasonally. Well worth the road trip!

We just visited Stone's Throw and had a great experience!…read more We intended to just have a glass of wine but decided to have the charcuterie board. The meats and cheeses all were delicious. Our party of 3 all had different wines, I had a Cabernet and it was one of the most delicious wines I've had in recent memory. I also tried a sparkling wine my wife was having and the essence of almond made it even better. In addition the setting outside was very relaxing. They have some oak casks in a display surrounded by flowers and grasses, so you are surrounded by nature along with music that enhances the atmosphere. Our server did a great job taking care of us. We were able to really enjoy the service and relax. We definitely will be returning on our next visit to Door County!

She did a wonderful job guiding us through the tasting and was one of the highlights of our visit. However, I was surprised that there weren't any plain crackers, bread, or even pretzels available to cleanse our palates between tastings. After sampling several wines, the flavors begin to blend together, making it difficult to fully appreciate each wine on its own. I understand not every winery provides palate cleansers, but many do, and it's a simple touch that really enhances the tasting experience. Even plain crackers or slices of bread would make a noticeable difference. Despite that, we enjoyed the wines enough that we joined the wine club and spent over $400 on wine before leaving. That alone should show how much we liked what Stone's Throw has to offer. Because of that, I hope this feedback is taken in the spirit it's intended--not as criticism for the sake of criticizing, but as a suggestion from customers who supported the winery and would love to see an already enjoyable experience become even better.

The atmosphere is excellent because it is right on Lake Michigan outside of the harbor. It has a lake view in the backyard and plenty of seating as well as yard games to keep it fun and entertaining, especially if you had kids. This is a beloved spot for us because it used to be Yum Yum tree, our favorite candy shop! The man working was relatively helpful and efficient. We were able to choose a variety of wines based on flavor, profiles, reds, and white, sparkling, flat dry and sweet. They also had other cocktails and a beer list available as far as bites. It is small bites, like cheeseboard charcuterie, and I believe soft pretzels when the cheeseboard came out, it was locally sourced cheeses from door County Wisconsin, and that was definitely the highlight. the crackers were club, Ritz and the dollar multigrain crackers you can buy at a regular grocery store so nothing to write home about, but it was at least nice to have local cheeses. We weren't completely sold on the wine but that might be due to our own choices from the flight. Overall, if you're looking for a place to kill some time or have a quick glass of wine or a flight, this is a good stop if it is open!

If I could give Lake Fire Winery more than five stars, I absolutely would!…read more From the moment we walked in, Austin made the experience exceptional. His wine recommendations and tasting guidance were spot-on, but what truly impressed me was how he explained why I disliked dry wines. He took the time to teach us about wine in a way that was engaging, approachable, and incredibly informative. I even found myself fact-checking a few of the things he shared afterward--and he was absolutely right! I left with a much better understanding of wine and a completely different appreciation for it. The wines themselves were outstanding. Every sample was thoughtfully selected, and we loved them so much that we ended up taking home three bottles. It's rare to find a winery where every recommendation feels like a winner, but Lake Fire nailed it. The winery itself is just as memorable as the wine. The atmosphere is trendy, upscale, elegant, and welcoming all at the same time. My favorite spot was the charming outdoor garden tucked behind the tasting room. Sitting in the sunshine with a glass of incredible wine while overlooking the water felt absolutely magical. Lake Fire Winery has created something truly special. Between the knowledgeable and passionate staff, award-winning wines, and one of the most beautiful waterfront settings in Door County, this was easily one of the highlights of our trip. We can't wait to come back--and we'll definitely be recommending it to everyone we know!

This business makes there own Beer, wine and alcohol products where the diversity of what they make is kind of amazing considering the footprint/size of their facility. Relative to the tastings, these are free of charge where customers are encouraged to tip instead to show their appreciation for what they have been served. Duriing our trip here we tasted numerous spirits to include their house made gin, rum, vodka, Brandy, Bourbon and various flavored moonshines. I thought the liquors with the exception of the Moonshines were just OK but the moonshines were surprisingly quite good. These 60 proof drinks come across like a liquor based on the alcohol by volume content with a similar creamy texture. The flavor profiles are quite unique to anything I have ever tasted before where their flavors include Grandma's Apple Pie, Salted Caramel, Orange Slice and Lemon Drop shine to name just some of them. Every Moonshine bottle we tasted was so tasty where I was really enamored with all of them and at the end of the day ended up buying the Lemon Drop and salted Caramel although it was hard to stop at just these two. Relative to the facility it has a non descript outer view where the inside comes across more of a typical bar venue more so than a winery/distillery which is a bit deceiving in my mind considering how much product they make here. No stacked wine barrels or a sneak peak of the Distillery or Barrel rooms to reinforce what this business is and add the cute ambiance you get at many of the wineries I visit. Relative to Staff, They were exceptionally friendly and good on the repours for our free tasting which definately added a lot to our tasting event. Overall a very pleasant time was had by our group where I see myself returning again in the future and sampling their other ware's and probably buying more moonshine!
