The male helping us with our flights of wine did a great job informing us of the various qualities inherent in each wine, and even treated us to a couple of gratis samples of a hot beverage and lemonade-style beverage. Had a lovely time: we bought cheese next door and left an ID for a knife and cutting board (jerks apparently steal those) and sat outside to listen to the live music at the winery. And we (was with my sister) got paddled (4 wine samples). We walked in the "boss" said "ugh it looks like there is 7 of them." Then as soon as we walked up to the counter she said "if you want service you better order now because we have a group of 40 coming in 2 seconds." Unsure why she was so rude off the bat. I understand that a big group was coming in soon, but that should not have affected our service as there was no one at the counter to order when we arrived. This was a great little find that wasn't on our radar until an employee at a different winery recommended we stop there. (Also how cool is it that one winery is telling you to go visit another?) You can get four samples for $10 and the pour sizes are generous. There is plenty of seating both outside and upstairs, and they do very often have live music. While we didn't personally fall in love with any of the wines it was still worth a stop as they have a fun and unique way of naming their wines, and honestly it was entertaining just reading those and the descriptions. Another bonus is that it doesn't seem like it ever gets super busy here since it's a little off the beaten path, so when all the other wineries in the area have a line out the door and nowhere to sit, I bet you'd still be able to find a place here. read more

This place had a great atmosphere with a beautiful upstairs loft. The live music was great, and overall it was a good time. Live music is every Saturday from 1pm to 4pm. That being said, we just don't love the wines. We each tried a flight and were unimpressed. A nice stop if you're going on a winery crawl, but overall nothing too exciting. They have live music sometimes which is fun to just hang out and have some wine samples or by the glass. Our wine tastings came with a pretty heavy pour so they don't skimp on the samples. All the wine I liked was 40 or more from grapes imported from California. Next time we are just bringing our own wine. We experienced terrible customer service. Upon selecting our choices for wine sampling we were mocked for having the same selection samples between myself and wife. Furthermore this old guy shared his ridicule with a coworker who shamed us as well. I was humiliated in front of friends at his/ her actions. Outdoor live music and heaters seem to be the big draw here. A flight of fixe wines for $10 is their wine tasting. Not a large variety for this price but it was ok. Staff wasn't very welcoming and it felt like they needed a break or something. Outdoor heaters not very powerful. This is #3 of our winery visits while in Wisconsin. This one may be our favorite as it not only had great wine, but also very cool ambiance. Very home feeling with great employees helping us through our tastings and offering a lot of info. I didn't get the girls name but she's was super cool. Just moved here from California and was very nice. She even went outside and gave our friends dog water while they're waiting for us on the patio. We tried a few different cab's a merlot and a zin. We enjoyed it all. They also have a pretty big gift shop attached that has a lot to offer and sells local brewers beer too. read more

Went in for a tasting and we left with 6 bottles. Cherry-osity, their Rosè, two Rows make a white. We basically got doubles of it all. Pretty reasonable prices. Finally! Dry reds in Door County! Granted, the grapes are sourced from California and Walla Walla, but I don't care. They're good! There's still lots of opportunities here for the sweet wine lover, but there is a list of reserve wines that will appeal to those lean towards dark red deliciousness. A must visit! One note, however, there's a check-in deal on Yelp for a buy one, get one free glass of wine that isn't recognized by the winery, so don't bank on using it! read more

THE OWNER MADE MY DAUGHTER CRY. She accused my 10 year old daughter of shoplifting a wine topper. My wife emptied my daughter's pockets to prove she didn't but the owner didn't back down insisting "I know what I saw!" Then the owner said my daughter probably handed it off to me in the parking lot when I was taking my son out to the car. They are not affiliated with the cheese shop next store which is amazing! We will continue to stop in for cheese ever time we come up but will never stop in the neighboring wine shop. read more

I will begin this with stating that we do love their Carmen's Last Dance wine, it's really a great wine!! That's where everything end's regarding this winery, do not go unless you are prepared to follow more rules than I had during my childhood In Catholic school!!! We were here in January and they had nice little igloos to sit in and enjoy their wine, we were however kicked out because we had an eight month old baby sleeping in a car seat, he was not able to walk or crawl at this point but they said they had a child do some damage to an igloo so now they do not allow children in the igloos. Which I understand it's sad that parents allow their children to do damage, however this was a SLEEPING INFANT!!! It didn't matter so we bought a case and left. Fast Forward to August, we were back and we bought multiple bottles of wine and three rather large orders of cheese from the neighboring cheese shop. We again had the baby with us and we had a baggie of popcorn, a baggie of cherry tomatoes for him and we brought our own crackers because the crackers they sell are VILE and we were told to leave because we couldn't have food for the baby they considered it "carry-ins". They don't have tomatoes and the popcorn they did have was jalapeño, which was not appropriate for a one year old. It was absolutely ridiculous apparently they do not need business. Mary Jo Gustafson is the manager and she absolutely refused to to give me the name of the owner, as if I am unable to do a google search, she was quite elderly and perhaps should retire if she has so little tolerance for customers who patronize her employers establishment!!! read more

Decided to come to this winery because it was open later than the other local ones by an hour so it was convenient. The woman pouring wines was friendly and helpful with recommendations. We arrived just after 515 and overheard that we were the last tasting group of the day (open until 6pm). We spent nearly $100 all together and really enjoyed our different wines. We purchased a variety of flights for five people as well as cheese from a neighboring shop. While I would've given 4 or 5 stars, unfortunately the experience was a bit gruff. I had my certified animal with me and he made no noise and was in a bag and unnoticed, but while we were leaving, a man went out of his way to say he wasn't allowed, despite the fact that we were literally walking out, which is just a strange thing to do. On top of that, it was 6:20, we'd paid nearly $100 and one would think that, like most all places like this, the last customers would be allowed to finish their purchases, given they were obviously allowed to make them with clear awareness of the time. Well, this wasn't the case. We were rushed several times by the same man and ended up having to chug our wines instead of finishing them up reasonably. Again, it was 620 when we left. The outdoor seating is great. There's a ramp for strollers etc. which is hard to find in door co. My husband and I went and it wasn't very busy. I was looking for the Wisconsin Cheese Masters shop on my GPS when I fortuitously noticed another winery so conveniently located it'd just be silly not to check it out. The cabin-looking building is filled with funny and kitschy wooden signs for sale, and Door County Soaps are also inside. You're even allowed to take a glass of wine next door to the cheese shop! You can choose 5 (or 6?, I forget) tastes for free, with a taste of one of their chocovines at the end. The woman helping us was so funny and outgoing, I wish I caught her name, with the brunette bob hairstyle. "I notice you didn't select any of our Reds," she says to me. "I don't like the bitter, tannin aftertaste of most reds," I replied. "You'll try this," she says to me as she pours me a taste of their Carmen's Last Dance concord grape wine. "I'm very bossy, you'll see, but I think you'll love this one. It has a cult following!" Well, sign me up for the cult. That wine tastes just like grape juice. Then she added a splash of the Tinseltown sparkling to make a little spritzer, and gave us copies of their Sangria recipe on a printed postcard, which calls for multiple bottles of their wine, naturally. The chocovine, she tells us as we sip our final taste, keeps in the refrigerator for six months once you open it. This woman is a sneaky sales beast and I love her. Pass on the Pumpkin-spice chocovine, the raspberry is where it's at! Here I am, dragging my basket of wines I'm pretending are going to be gifts for other people to the register, and of course the gentleman there reminds us if we get just one more bottle, we get a $3 discount. Obviously spending $15 more to save $3 works out in my bargain-hunting math, so we add another, why not. Now I have a case of wine and I still haven't even spent $100, I dig it. This was not a pleasant wine tasting. When we entered we were brought over to an area. Instead of being welcomed we were asked if we had been here before. Let's just assume that we are visitors and we haven't been. Let us know what's going on and what to expect, where to go, etc. Instead we were shown the sign with four different flights to chose. They pour the wine in plastic cups and put them on a numbered plate. If you want to know anything more than the name of the wine, this is not the place for you. Then we take our cups on the plate out to a freezing cold tent with lots of wind. Maybe a heater or two? No. We were sooooo cold. We drank fast, no enjoyment here, tossed our cups and left. read more

This was our first winery stop in Door County and they set the bar pretty high. The tasting was free and fun. They have a nice variety of wines to chose from, including a cherry flavored one. We loved the names of their wines. We purchased two bottles and then headed next door to try some cheese. It's located right off one of the main roads, so it's very easy to find. A really fun place! You can try 6 different wines for $4 or 5 premium wines for $6. We went with the first option. Our server was knowledgeable but came off as unapproachable. I'm not sure if it was because of us being younger, but it was a bit uncomfortable. The wines were great - my favorites were the blueberry and Carmen's Last Dance. They seem to source a lot of their wine from other wineries, which is fine as it gives you more to choose from.
