Located in Southern Door County, I always feel like this a perfect stop on the way to other places. They open at 10 AM, making it a perfect first stop in Door County. We stopped for a breakfast Bloody Mary and of course to sample some of their other spirits. The outdoor deck is a beautiful place to enjoy a drink or two! It would be nice to spend the whole day there, but there are so many other things to do while in Door County. We enjoyed some sunshine and a drink. I think the early morning visit made it less busy and much more enjoyable!

We had a chance to visit again on our mid-September 2021 trip and so it's time for an update! Please also see my previous review. We did the sprits tasting last time, but the cocktails looked so good we said we'd have to come back for those next time...who knew a global pandemic would mean "next time" was 2 years later?! Anyway, we finally came back for those cocktails! I had a gin mojito that was amazing! I had always just done rum mojitos, but gin works amazingly well. These are large, strong cocktails at an incredibly reasonable price. We took them out on the upstairs patio and enjoyed them at a leisurely pace. I bought another bottle of the barrel aged gin that I had enjoyed on my 2019 visit and am looking forward to enjoying that at home. The tasting bar area was crowded on a weekday afternoon during what is usually off peak season, but this year seemed to be an extended peak all over Door County. They handled the crowds well, and there was plenty of room to sit outside. We noticed there was also a tent off the parking lot that seemed to be serving beverages as well; that would definitely be worth checking out if you want to avoid an indoor bar area for ordering.

One of the best places we visited during our week in door county. Unlike some of the tourist traps catering to the tour bus riding groups, this was an elegant, higher-end experience on par with some of the nicer wine tasting rooms in Napa Valley. Note: the spirits tasting is separate from the wine tasting and located just across the hall. We stopped in specifically to try the spirits. Micro distilleries are popping up all over the place these days and we were excited to find this one in door county. Unlike many that just have gin and vodka (no aging requirement so good for cash flow), this very well funded place offers bourbon, whisky, bitters and more. Step in to the brand new tasting bar to try the booze. $6 gets you tastes (just a couple of tablespoons) of three spirits server elegantly on aged wooden barrel staves and $12 gets you six. I tried and enjoyed the whisky, bourbon and cherry brandy and my wife had the cherry vodka, bitters and another vodka. Quality of their product is top notch and the bartender friendly and helpful. After your tasting step into the shop and stock up. While the products aren't cheap, they are unique and very good tasting. I ended up leaving with 4 bottles -just under$100.

I've visited this distillery a few times. It's pretty popular, always jam packed, I've never gotten close enough to do a wine tasting, also food tasting, come on people share! LOL Dang vultures. So usually when I come here I just shop, they have great gift ideas. This time husband & I did some alcohol taste testing, not for me. But right up his alley! They used to have a restaurant, that is now closed and temporary housing beer for a local brewery that burned down, so that is very nice of them.Nice location and building.

The lounge you cat chill for a while.

Nice place. A little too crowded at the wine sampling but that was due to the weather. Sampled oils and balsamic vinegars and purchased some as well.

The bourbon is only aged 2 years in the barrel and is not good. The wine didn't taste good either.

Poor customer service and the cocktails left a lot to be desired so much that we tossed out almost 4 full drinks. I would not recommend.

A scant 56 miles south of Michigan, you can't get much more north of here…read more Having been the only person who signed up for a tour of Paradise North on a Thursday night, I had owner and distiller Tom Feld all to myself. The distillery is his retirement passion project after beginning grown up life as an environmental scientist prior to transitioning to accounting and finance. I learned about his love of Barbados rum, his Portuguese alembic still, and how he's experimenting with rum using a solera aging process. Limited by only his imagination, Tom has several small batch test runs available in the tasting room, under the Boiler Room Series label. Tom has honored his childhood in his spirits, sourcing local grain from the same farmer his father used on their farm. A forager at heart, he uses spruce tips, prickly ash berries, and birch bark in his gin and sources Puerto Rican cocoa bean husks for his chocolate vodka. While I came for the rum and whiskey, I stayed for the Cherry Bounce. Cherry Bounce is pretty common in Wisconsin, usually made at home in a Mason jar with those famous Door County cherries, a neutral spirit, and sugar. Tom puts his own spin on this tradition by aging it in his bourbon barrels. While currently available in the tasting room, this is unfortunately a seasonal spirit that won't be for sale again until later this summer. Looks like there will be a return trip in my future!

This business makes there own Beer, wine and alcohol products where the diversity of what they make is kind of amazing considering the footprint/size of their facility. Relative to the tastings, these are free of charge where customers are encouraged to tip instead to show their appreciation for what they have been served. Duriing our trip here we tasted numerous spirits to include their house made gin, rum, vodka, Brandy, Bourbon and various flavored moonshines. I thought the liquors with the exception of the Moonshines were just OK but the moonshines were surprisingly quite good. These 60 proof drinks come across like a liquor based on the alcohol by volume content with a similar creamy texture. The flavor profiles are quite unique to anything I have ever tasted before where their flavors include Grandma's Apple Pie, Salted Caramel, Orange Slice and Lemon Drop shine to name just some of them. Every Moonshine bottle we tasted was so tasty where I was really enamored with all of them and at the end of the day ended up buying the Lemon Drop and salted Caramel although it was hard to stop at just these two. Relative to the facility it has a non descript outer view where the inside comes across more of a typical bar venue more so than a winery/distillery which is a bit deceiving in my mind considering how much product they make here. No stacked wine barrels or a sneak peak of the Distillery or Barrel rooms to reinforce what this business is and add the cute ambiance you get at many of the wineries I visit. Relative to Staff, They were exceptionally friendly and good on the repours for our free tasting which definately added a lot to our tasting event. Overall a very pleasant time was had by our group where I see myself returning again in the future and sampling their other ware's and probably buying more moonshine!
