Duck Creek Vineyard and Winery - Great way to warm up this week with some wine, bourbon, or our craft beer!

This business makes there own Beer, wine and alcohol products where the diversity of what they make is kind of amazing considering the footprint/size of their facility. Relative to the tastings, these are free of charge where customers are encouraged to tip instead to show their appreciation for what they have been served. Duriing our trip here we tasted numerous spirits to include their house made gin, rum, vodka, Brandy, Bourbon and various flavored moonshines. I thought the liquors with the exception of the Moonshines were just OK but the moonshines were surprisingly quite good. These 60 proof drinks come across like a liquor based on the alcohol by volume content with a similar creamy texture. The flavor profiles are quite unique to anything I have ever tasted before where their flavors include Grandma's Apple Pie, Salted Caramel, Orange Slice and Lemon Drop shine to name just some of them. Every Moonshine bottle we tasted was so tasty where I was really enamored with all of them and at the end of the day ended up buying the Lemon Drop and salted Caramel although it was hard to stop at just these two. Relative to the facility it has a non descript outer view where the inside comes across more of a typical bar venue more so than a winery/distillery which is a bit deceiving in my mind considering how much product they make here. No stacked wine barrels or a sneak peak of the Distillery or Barrel rooms to reinforce what this business is and add the cute ambiance you get at many of the wineries I visit. Relative to Staff, They were exceptionally friendly and good on the repours for our free tasting which definately added a lot to our tasting event. Overall a very pleasant time was had by our group where I see myself returning again in the future and sampling their other ware's and probably buying more moonshine!

The distillery is his retirement passion project after beginning grown up life as an environmental scientist prior to transitioning to accounting and finance. I learned about his love of Barbados rum, his Portuguese alembic still, and how he's experimenting with rum using a solera aging process. Limited by only his imagination, Tom has several small batch test runs available in the tasting room, under the Boiler Room Series label. Tom has honored his childhood in his spirits, sourcing local grain from the same farmer his father used on their farm. A forager at heart, he uses spruce tips, prickly ash berries, and birch bark in his gin and sources Puerto Rican cocoa bean husks for his chocolate vodka. While I came for the rum and whiskey, I stayed for the Cherry Bounce. Cherry Bounce is pretty common in Wisconsin, usually made at home in a Mason jar with those famous Door County cherries, a neutral spirit, and sugar. Tom puts his own spin on this tradition by aging it in his bourbon barrels. While currently available in the tasting room, this is unfortunately a seasonal spirit that won't be for sale again until later this summer. Looks like there will be a return trip in my future!

Very relaxing vibe when you step in with hanging plants. The bar area has exposed pipes to lend an industrial feel. We got a table right away in a booth next to the bar. We ordered biscuits and gravy, kids waffles, avocado toast and warm donuts. The donuts are deep fried coated in generous amounts of sugar. While it's good but felt like the large amount of sugar is very overpowering. The berry mascarpone cheese is really delicious! Loved the homemade biscuits topped with just the right amount of gravy. The waffles were light and fluffy, the whipped cream was to die for according to my kids :) I loved all the greens on my avo toast especially the sprouts. However, I found the toast to be on the bland side with not much flavor. Needed some hot sauce to spice it up. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our brunch and the service was great as well! Highly recommend this restaurant/distillery for casual as well as a fancy night out! They also have good vegetarian options (hello falafels!).

After the market we stopped in to check things out and wow it was crowded at 10am on a Sunday morning. The place is rather large, we ended up at the bar as the dining room had quite a wait. The bar was delightful. We didn't eat but we'd like to next time. Drinks were good as was the atmosphere and staff. We'd def come back again. Prices fair and ample parking.
