I usually order the sirloin dinner, which is always a reliably good option, as well as the ribeye and local fish.

We stayed in the Landmark Resort- Egg Harbor, Wi - and while it has some charm, the overall…read moreexperience was more "meh" than memorable. The property is surrounded by woods, which gives it a peaceful, cabin in the north-woods kind of vibe. The lake views are really gorgeous but good luck getting one... By the time we checked in all those rooms were taken, so we ended up with a stunning view of a parking lot and some trees. Postcard material, if the postcard is from a rest stop! Walking into the room, the first thing that hit us was this strong, leftover food smell - like someone had just cooked something super spicy and the scent decided to stay for the weekend. It wasn't exactly the fresh, clean place we were hoping for. And to top it off the other side of the building had its own thing going on - its own kind of funky, musty odor that hung in the air. Not AWFUL, but noticeable. Not the kind of scent that says "welcome" more like "something weird went in the walls". The room did not do itself any favors either, there were dust, and dirt in random spots, and when we made the mistake of checking under the couch and cushions, we discovered a little time capsule of old food crumbs and debris. Cozy! It looked like the furniture had not been updated in a while - unless " 1990s cabin chic" is making a comeback. On the bright side, the shower actually worked pretty well - hot water, great pressure. Honestly that was probably the highlight of the room. Outside there is some tennis courts , and a basketball hoop. Which is a nice touch if you are into that kind of thing, ( or if you need to burn off frustration from your room situation.) Overall the Landmark has potential - the location is solid and the grounds are peaceful - but the rooms REALLY need more attention and care. If they put in the effort to clean better and refresh the interiors, this could be a great spot. Until then, maybe bring some freshener, and DO NOT look under the cushions, and keep your expectations in check!

Overall this is a good resort in a beautiful location.  Rooms here are centrally managed but…read moreprivately owned so there will be some variation in decor and condition although most of the furnishings look similar.  There are 16 room types ranging from 1-3 bedrooms with king/queen bed variations and all have full kitchens which is convenient.  However because there are so many room types it's very important to know what you are getting or you could end up being really disappointed - Having stayed in 4 room types here this would be my general advice in choosing a room: Lake view is better than "woods" view ("woods" view one bedrooms are on the parking lot level (2nd floor) looking out at the parking lot through some trees). Lake view on 2nd and 3rd floor is preferable than the lower level (1st floor) which may not have much of a view but more natural light than woods view "Premier" rooms come with a much larger living room area so much better for extended stays (if I were to stay here again the lake view premier one bedroom will definitely be my first choice). If lake view rooms are not available and you have to book a woods view room - go for a two bedroom suite with loft which is located on the 3rd floor (one level up from the parking lot).  These rooms have much higher ceilings (due to the loft) and more natural light than the rooms below.  Even if you don't need the second bedroom it's fun to sleep in the loft. Now in case you have to book a one bedroom woods view room, don't get one that is right next to an entrance.  Being on the ground floor these rooms are already super dark and cave like, but if it's also right next to an entrance you won't even be able to keep the blinds open as there will be no privacy.  All rooms have a patio but the patio right next to an entrance and walkway is practically useless (we stayed in this room for one night and it was miserable). If you like your room here, you'll have a great time.  Room decor a bit old fashioned - lots of brown colors, and the beds tend to be too soft, but clean and comfortable enough and the showers are hot and strong. There are several buildings and each has its own pool (to splash in but not really for swimming). There is a pretty walking trail on the grounds and tennis courts. The restaurant is good with a nice outdoor deck with sunset views. Downtown Egg Harbor is a short drive or a  medium walk away.   Service is excellent - we had to change rooms a few times (had to get out of the first one and the place was full with no other rooms available for more than one to two nights) and staff was really helpful in making sure the changeover went smoothly.
