As a Texas transplant, I do love my Whataburger. It's always fresh and hot and the employees are usually pleasant and reasonably fast. I've had a couple problems with them being out of a couple items so four stars instead of five, but it's fairly rare so I'll go whenever I crave a patty melt or some chicken strips with xtra gravy! read more

The food was inexpensive and they had a unique menu compared to other traditional burger chains. We tried their patty melt and it was quite delicious. I don't understand the low recent reviews. I just had the Hatch double cheese burger, adding diced onion and mustard. What a great burger! Good beef flavor, could taste the slightly hot green chile and the onions/mustard thing is a must for me - it sets off all the flavors perfectly. Service was quick and friendly, place looked clean. Restaurant was half full at 4pm on a Saturday. If I have a meal to spare this trip, I'm going back for another. read more

This place is difficult to get into and then their policy is to take you out of the drive thru line and make you wait in the blazing g sun. No one else in line but pull into the sun and wait in the heat. Burger was good, not wrapped that well fell out of all the wrapping. I won't be back unless it's early in the morning or late at night. She was a joy to watch: a perpetual motion machine without a wasted motion, always smiling and offering a greeting (not the kind that is read from a training script, but a genuine welcome). She served me and asked if I would please inspect the order as correct and presentable. I walk in with the coupon posted, and the cashier puts in my order as a sandwich, a medium fry, and a medium Dr. Pepper shake. When I asked him whether I can have the medium soft drink instead (notice that nowhere on the coupon does it say it must be a shake), he tells me it has to be a shake but he can give me a soft drink instead. In other words, he can give me a soft drink for the same price as a shake (a shake costs $4.79, a soft drink costs $2.19). Good chain location. Very slow in the evening and quiet. No internet, no tv, and no places to plug in (that I saw), BUT if you want a quiet place with pleasant employees this is it. There is usually a bit of turnover but the staff are often cleaning everything, yesterday they were on the floor scrubbing, that is so refreshing from the nasty floors at other fast food places. The staff always welcome and say good night. Only problems I have are related to staff learning how to use the register when I bring a coupon in. But nothing really difficult. Called to get the delivery corrected, was told that was not possible because the delivery is done by a third party (this is indicated nowhere on the Whataburger website). Also told that is not possible to get money credited back to my card. They were willing to correct the error but I had to go pick up the items. Kind of ruins the concept of delivery. First & last time I will order from Whataburger. Couple more thoughts on this: 1) I should not be responsible to correct their mistake. 2) This is a corporate issue, the local store was just implementing company policy. I do not hold the local employees responsible for this. I'm sure they are decent folk just trying to make a living. 3) What if I was a shut-in or otherwise could not drive or did not have a car? Then there would be no way to resolve this. For those dependent on reliable (or at least correctable) food delivery this is a huge issue. My order was only missing two minor items and I chose not to go pick them up. What if the order was missing the burgers or some other major item and I had no way to get to the store? This is unacceptable. If Whataburger is going to offer delivery then the corporate policy should be to stand by that commitment. read more

We don't really eat too much fast food these days, but this Whataburger is our go to if we're on the go or too lazy to cook. They offer what you would expect from a fast food place: plain burgers, specialty burgers, chicken and fish sandwiches, fries, onion rings, etc... I've become a fan of their patty melt. Glorious in it's simplicity of meat, cheese, grilled onions (they dice the onions so you're not pulling strings of onions out with your first bite) and sauce between two pieces of grilled Texas toast. We usually just hit the drive through and, sometimes, you end up waiting a little bit. This has always been the case with Whataburger and I don't really mind because that tells me they are making your burger fresh and it's not been sitting under a heat lamp or in a warming bin. Their menu is not exactly calorie friendly, but then again, if you're at a fast food restaurant that may not be your chief concern. read more
