Disappointing Curbside Experience - Not Worth the Wait I placed a curbside order at 8:13 PM and didn't leave until 8:56 PM--a 43-minute wait for a to-go meal. I even called the store at 8:45 and was told my food would be brought out. It wasn't. Another customer who arrived after me got their food first. Only then did a staff member ask if I was still waiting and finally brought my order. Turns out my food had been sitting under the heat lamp the entire time. The Dr Pepper Blackberry Shake had to be remade on the spot because it was no longer presentable (on the plus side, my wife loved the shake). Unfortunately, the rest was a mess: Cold burgers Terrible fries (I had to reheat them in my air fryer) One burger was supposed to have everything except mustard, but came completely plain A manager (I believe named Dan) spoke with me but said there was nothing they could do about a refund because it was an online order. I spent $44 for what was supposed to be a quick meal. For that price and time, I could've sat down at Applebee's, ordered three full-size burgers with drinks and fries, tipped 20%, and still spent less money for better service and food. I'm from the PNW, so have always considered Whataburger a treat when in vicinity. Have been to three locations total. Arizona, Oklahoma, and now here. Food was still great. Absolutely terrible experience with customer wait time and prioritization at 10pm at night. Dropped in for a single hamburger order. Placed order at counter at 22:11. Second person in line inside. Maybe one or two other orders inside waiting, having already ordered. Drive-thru was, as expected long, so decided to come in. Did not receive food until 22:36 (25 minutes) after having to ask for it to be prioritized multiple times. People kept coming in, so was getting busy. There was a heating cabinet that they were filling orders with that they kept filling up with no one claiming anything in it. Presumably, and based off what they were saying, someone somewhere had put in a big order. I get that. That's chill. But my expectation is that, as someone who is there, present in the moment, in-person at the restaurant, ordering at the counter, I am not having to be a Karen to fight my way to get a single hamburger after 25 minutes at 10 o'clock at night. (Can confidently say I would've been waiting closer to 45 had I not been "that guy.") IMO, need to evaluate how you prioritize orders from your three sources (mobile, counter, drive-thru), with an increased emphasis on dining room clientele. read more

I've eaten Whataburger my whole life. This is by far the worst one I've ever been to. Fries were not hot and the patty on my junior burger was literally ice cold to the touch as though it was taken out of the fridge and slapped on some bread along with some very under-ripe tomatoes. I'm not exaggerating when I say there were maybe three teaspoons of sauce across six wings. They were bland, sticky, and underwhelming. I politely brought the issue to the staff's attention, only to be met with open hostility. One employee actually called me a "jackass" and told me to "sit down and deal with it." I was shocked. I've never been treated so rudely in a place of business. Still trying to salvage something from the visit, I asked if I could get a chocolate milkshake, only to be told they were out of both chocolate and milk. At that point, I just gave up. This was my first time having Whataburger in my life but I heard it's a popular fast food joint. We came here for breakfast and had it on the road to our next destination. The line was a little bit longer since I wouldn't think anyone want to eat a burger for breakfast. It took us about 15 minutes to get our order ready and we had to wait on the side while they were making it. The thing is some of our fries were super hot and the other fries were cold as a cucumber. This was so inconsistent and it was all in the same order. That was a little bit sad. The burger itself didn't taste as good as other fast food places. I would even say Mc Donald's for sure has this place beat. The bread itself wasn't warm and didn't taste good to me and overall it was not a pleasing first time for me. What a welcoming sight!! We were looking for a place to eat lunch so when my wife and I spotted this Whataburger our friends immediately pulled over. I thought that Whataburger was a fast food chain only found in Texas so when we ran across this one in Roswell, New Mexico we were ecstatic!! Our good friends had never heard of this chain so they were looking forward to trying their food. The dining area was not open so we could not eat inside. Only the drive thru was open, but we had an RV so we could not use that option. We ordered our food, and took them to the vehicle to eat. The Patty Melts are Yummytastic!! The BEST Patty Melts are made by Whataburger!! I'm not so crazy about their other food. Grill Cheese sandwich is very ordinary. Burgers are alright, but not one of my favorite fast food burgers. So unfortunately I had to give Whataburger a bad review. It's for two reasons. 1) extremely dirty restaurant. Amazing that people don't get sick from the filth in this restaurant. 2) bad food. Traveling through, making a bit out of the way trip to hit Whataburger since they don't exist in our state. Especially went inside to make sure they get the order right! First, hard to ignore the buzzing flies around. Second, we ordered and found out 10min down the road that part of order was missing and they asked us to come back. I planned a lunch stop during a recent road trip in Roswell specifically to eat at Whataburger. I don't live near one and was so excited because I grew up in the hometown of Whataburger and miss it. I don't see what all the fuss is about. Went there with a family of six. Kids had a grilled cheese and chicken strips. DIL had a chicken sandwich. Hub and son had green chili burgers. I would have gotten that except I didn't want two patties of meat. Didn't ask if there were alternatives. I had an Itsa burger. Beef tasted like it was steamed.
