Ordered double burger with hatch chili peppers, onion rings an medium iced teas for 2 people. It came to $28. The burgers were flat, tasteless with cheese that tasted and felt like glue. The buns flat and doughy. The onion rings were real but looked and tasted like frozen food. Never again. This place sucks, asked for Buffalo and ranch and Mayo at the machine, then asked again for Buffalo and ranch and Mayo at the window. We got home and there was STILL no sauces. The Powerade was completely watered down. Drove all the way back and they would NOT give us the sauces without returning the food I left at home. My goal being in Phoenix, AZ for 3 weeks was to try all the burger places I don't have in the Northeast. Whataburger was on that list. I ordered the single burger meal with coke and fries. I Also tried the grilled chicken green hatch chili burger, fries and garden salad. The meat patty is very disappointing. Not like eating a real burger from smashburger or shake Shack. Just very average. The fries are pretty tasteless. The salad was tossed. No dressing provided and it just tasted nasty. I'm not a fan. There are so many different places to get a burger. Had to repeat my order multiple times at the speaker, employee kept getting it wrong, like she was distracted or something. Waited over 15 min at window for food, which they got wrong, missing our back double cheeseburger, our milkshakes were melted, or burgers fries and onion rings were cold. The 15 minutes we waited, we watched employees goofing off, grabbing the headphones from each other , laughing and running around, chatting , and generally acting unprofessional. I think this explains why the person on speaker was distracted. At the wi Dow they didn't know what my order was, after about 10 minutes they asked what the name on the order was, I said they never asked my name. They then took y receipt and spent another 5 minutes finding my order which was already cold and gave it to me that way. Then I pointed out it was frustrating they were goofing off while we were waiting so long for our food, and she said "ok" and slammed the window. Driving away, I realized they didn't give me straws for my drink and milkshakes. When I got home I realized I was missing the bacon double cheeseburger. Not to mention, I told them they had the sizes wrong on the milkshakes, and that I ordered a small raspberry chocolate shake not a large. Got home and they corrected it and gave me the right size, but still charged me for the large. Officially the worst fast food customer service I've ever received. This is one of our favorite Whataburger locations. We have a tradition of going here after every home Cardinals football game. All of the employees are polite and genuinely happy to see you when you come in the door. The food is always hot and just like you ordered it. Best Green Chile Double I've ever found (seems to be made a little differently depending on the location). Love getting a side of their gravy for our fries, in addition to regular or spicy ketchup. Probably the best Whataburger in the Phoenix area! The food actually tastes like it was made to order and wasn't sitting around for hours before I ate it. The employees were in really good spirits and the service was top notch! They regularly came around to ask if we needed everything and if the food was to our liking. Drove 6 hours from California to eat here. Specifically chose this restaurant because they had the highest reviews of all the local Whataburgers. First off let me say... I love Whataburger's burgers. However, there lines are always so long! They must have like 1 dozen people working there but it's so hard and so slow to get a meal. Today I purchased a burger meal not only was it lukewarm but my cheese wasn't even melted onto my burger. It looked like it had just been slapped in there last minute! The flavor was good but cold. The fries were about the same room temp and without flavor or seasonings. We walked in at a busy time and they were going down in flames ,,, every order seemed to be coming back to the counter with some sort of complaint that needed "fixed" .Despite our misgivings , we ordered . Our order came out perfectly prepared , so we were lucky . I tried the Sweet & Spicy bacon cheese burger... it was huge & double cheese but had a fistful of coarse diced raw onions that I thought was a bit excessive. My husband like his mushroom Swiss burger , he said it tasted like "beef stroganoff" in burger form. We also sampled a fish sandwich. Hello yelpers ! I finally got to try Whataburger after several years ! Why I took so long ? I'm Californian ! I heard about this burger joint from my friends who lives Texas. So, why not give this a bite ! 1. Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit - This little dude here was delicious ! The combination of the biscuit and chicken tender clashes so well together. The chicken tender in the sandwich has that soft crunch and it taste so delicious each time I took a whomp ! It's not heavy on the sweet although it may load up that honey. It really taste like a well rounded sandwich. 2. Patty Melt - Woah. It's so melty ! The cheese and patty just literally soften as it touches my palate. It wasn't dry but quite the opposite. It was moisturizer by that cheese. I just wish the beard was crispy !! Personally I was try to request for extra toasty if can ! Doesn't hurt to try. 3. Sweet Tea - It's just like McDonald's but less sweet. This is preferable if your not in a high demand on sugary drinks. I came on my lunch and ordered a cheeseburger meal. Fransico who took my order had THE WORST customer service. When I said thank you he ignored me, when I placed my order he acted annoyed. When I got to the window and asked for jalapeño ranch, he said "No." then said "Well we do but it's $.43" I said okay and handed him the money. Whataburger was on our food list from our drive from CA to AZ as someone told me it rivaled In&Out. I liked how the menu had a variety of choices and opted for a Patty Melt, which was really good. It's a beef patty/cheese/sauce between toasted sandwich bread. My friends compared it with their Whataburger and they definitely liked the Patty Melt more. Staff was friendly. They give you a number at the register and bring the food to where your sitting. Overall I still like In&Out more but Whataburger is worth trying if you're on a road trip. Update 2/17/19 - this is still one of my favorite places but coming during the day compared to at night is literally Night & Day. At night they are so inconsistent with there food I don't get it. I have to stop visiting this location at night, you never know what you will end up with. This l to be my favorite burger place out of all the fast food chains. This is a go to fast food for the guys at work that work overnight. We can call in their order ahead of time and they do a great job. 4 stars because they can be slow but can you blame them at 2am. It's pretty noticeable that they use fresh ingredients, but honestly the only reason why I made my friends stop and eat here was because of all the hype of it supposedly being better than In n Out.
