I tried Whataburger for the first time yesterday. I have lived in Jacksonville for nearly 11 years and have driven past this location many times. I was headed for my massage, I was hungry and it was across the street from my appointment. I hopped in the drive-thru line and was waited on pretty quickly. I ordered the Whataburger with cheese which came with lettuce, tomato, onions and mustard. Compared to other fast food burger spots their burger was huge. It reminded me of a smashburger because it was thin but it was a lot a burger. The burger was hot and the ingredients were mostly fresh except for a green tomato which fell off while I was eating. I am not much of a fast food eater except when I'm starving and there's no other option but fast because I have no time to sit down at a restaurant. Now that I have tried it I would eat here again if the situation arises as described above. Bonus, service was fast and friendly. read more

I have been to Whataburger one other time in Tennessee, it was 1 day after they opened and I was not impressed as I waited over an hour for 2 meals. I always hear how yummy Whataburger is so I decided to give this location a try. Entirely new state, can't shun all locations forever, right? I got into the drive thru behind 1 car. They ordered a good amount of food, maybe 4 meals. They sat at the window for about 4 minutes after paying before the employees had them scoot up to wait. I got to the window, after ordering 1 simple jalapeño & cheese whataburger and waited another 3 minutes before an employee even opened the window to give my total. Then she crumpled up the receipt then handed it out the window. Got the burger and it was cold. Whataburgers are now shunned from my life forreal. read more

Terrible in just about every way. The food is almost always old and dry, and the service, while inconsistent, is almost always even worse. There is one manager there who does much better than the rest, which is the only reason they get a second star. By the way, they have an app that literally doesn't work at this location. I ordered the biscuit cheese and egg sandwich combo with coffee. Wife ordered biscuits and gravy with sausage and a Dr Pepper. The Dr Pepper was off, so one of the employees changed the syrup/carbonation and made it right. The coffee brew was slightly off as well, but that didn't matter as Ms. Joyce was serving up good old fashioned hospitality. She quickly brought us our food and asked if we needed spicy or regular ketchup. I'm thinking that when she's working, no number is needed, as she practically knows her regulars by name! read more

What could be more American than a warm and juicy burger fresh of the grill to celebrate July 4th? - Well, my wife and I thought Whataburger would be a great alternative. This one is about 15 mins from the house and about 5 mins from Atlantic Beach, Fl. - The location is perfect, closed enough for tourist and local residents as well. We come here about once a month and later enjoy a stroll by the beach. - Sadly, today we had the worst burger we ever had. The meat was cold, the cheese was not melted and bread was dried, the lettuce was not fresh and the Mayo looked watery. And on top of the the meat was over seasoned. I'm writing this review not to discourage anyone from stopping by, but for you to be aware and check your food before you leave the building. - Management should take a closer look at the quality of the food is being serve here. I bet not one of them would eat the burger in these photos. - If we come back here again I hope the quality of food is improved, that is if we ever come back. - It has been over 5 years since we had a burger from McDonalds, and 3 years for Burger King and Wendy's. We take our food seriously. M Shack had advertised, since the TPC was cancelled and they were a food vendor-their regular burgers were going to be $3 Friday- Sunday. We went after 1 pm, Atlantic Bch location on Sat. for a take out and the line out the door! (Also not taking phone calls or on-line orders) I mean a hour wait ....guess what the plain burger regularly ($5.39) is not worth my time so Whataburger to the rescue! Food was not worth what I had to witness and endure there. Service was nearly non-existent and some customers left angry because the front counter was being blocked by a group of punk kids who were only there to hang out with an employee who was really not doing much but eating food in the back of house/food prep area. (This is a critical food safety violation). The manager(?) didn't care about the violation and was oblivious and made excuses for the lack of service. The real customers had to deal with the extended wait and the distractions of employees flirting with non-paying friends. I'll never eat there again. FIVE GUYS vs. IN N' OUT vs. WHATBURGER. Who do you got??? Finally tried Whatburger and my ranking is. . . Ill do this in reverse order of how I usually rank. 4). Others. Lots of parking in this location. No worries about that. 3). Atmosphere. Nothing special or out of the ordinary. This place is kept clean. No issues but In N Out I think has a leg up I think. I didnt get any vibe out of this location. Five Guys has a certain vibe as well. 2). Customer Service. Okay, bear with me here. I noticed one server working hard. The other one was busy handing out condiments. Not used to the condiment server but ok. The rest of the staff were just goofing around. They had personal stuff on several tables and chairs. Not sure why the duty manager would allow this. The two hardworkers were single handedly doing majority of the work. Agree with my fellow Yelpers on this. You dont get that at Five Guys or In N Out. One up for Whataburger. 1). Food. I just cant see what the fuss is about. The burgers are just average. Similar to what you would find at BK, McDonalds, or Wendy's. Nothing wrong with those 3 establishments as I go to those spots very frequently but I just dont see anything special with the burgers here. - the fries are average. Nothing to rave about. - nuggets. These were freshly fried. Happy about that. - lots of sauce options. Enjoyed the spicy ketchup though. I think most folks like this place because its nostalgic for them. Visited Atlantic Beach for the weekend as Atlanta natives with the family. My dad was rather adamant about us trying Whataburger after eating it so often during business trips in Texas. We decided to get three meals and extra large fries. I didn't have high expectations but I'll try Whataburger just so I can say I had it. Not too sure how long we waited in line (maybe 15? 20 minutes?) but I passed the time by reading Whataburger's Wikipedia article and Twitter. By the time we got our order, the guy at the window said that it was on the house because it took so long. I was genuinely surprised; you don't really hear that often and we weren't inconvenienced at all with the wait. You also normally don't get that kind of good service in Atlanta during rush hour at 2 AM on a Saturday night at a McDonald's after waiting for 30+ minutes and they'll STILL get your order wrong. Thank you for the sincere thoughtfulness to everyone who worked morning shift on July 20. Our order was perfect although I wish I got the famed spicy ketchup. Waited in the drive thru line for 15 minutes and we moved 1 car length! They had us blocked in with traffic cones, I got mad and drove over them. When I drove by the drive-thru window, the same car was waiting on their food, as was there when I first arrived!! We don't have a Whattaburger where I'm from and I've heard such good things about them. I was disappointed that I didn't get a chance to see for myself. read more

We ordered through the mobile app on the hour. it was our first time to Whataburger, so we were excited. We got 2 burgers, a water, and a chocolate malt. Our order was estimated for 20 minutes. Seemed a little excessive for fast food, but we waited it out. There was only 1 other person in the mobile pickup area. 9+ cars went through the drive thru and we hadn't gotten any notification yet. After waiting for our food for 45 minutes, I sent my husband in to check on it. They didn't have anything ready yet, so we went back to the car. Almost an hour after ordering, parched and starving, they brought our burgers out but no drinks. The burgers weren't even slightly warm, definitely not freshly cooked. The buns were squished in a way that meant they'd been that way for at least a few days. Doesn't-bounce-back, wrinkled from the squish, etc. I didn't care to complain and wait another hour, so I just ate it as is. When he came back out with our shake, he brought a cookie as an apology for the wait, but walked away before we could ask for our water. We gave up and drove 20 minutes home. If it's going to be a 30+ wait for fast food, at least bring out the drinks while your customers are waiting, or maybe actually make fresh food? Gotta say, this was an awful first impression of Whataburger... I only liked the chocolate malt shake. [The 1 star reflects the kitchen staff and this particular store. I frequent this location every so often and have not had any complaints until now. On this particular visit, our burgers came back less than desirable. I have never had a Whataburger this poorly made. It was so flat and lacking of the usual amount of ingredients. If I hadn't already left, I would have taken the food back. I also had to go back inside to her the fries that they forgot to give me. I do have to say that the staff was friendly. Hello! Yesterday I visited store #865 in Neptune Beach. I placed two orders (one to eat-in and one for take-out) with the same gentleman. I forgot to look at his name tag or save the sale receipts, but I have info from the to-go order receipt on the bag. Date: 10/6/2020; Time: 2:09:09 PM; Order: 187355; Cashier: Lc R. This young gentleman was *VERY* friendly. I could see a smile even with his mask on. I was also very impressed with him and the company as I saw him sanitizing tables when customers left as well as sanitizing trays (very carefully, I would like to add). I was in the drive thru at 10ish and it was PACKED. This was my first time here so I was unfamiliar whether they require you to order at window or by the menus. I sat outside by the menu and no one ever took our order so I assumed I would need to order at window. Once I got to window the rep stated I should have order by the menu. I asked if I could place my order and stated I would be fine waiting in the parking lot. The drive thru line was about 20-30 min long so I didn't not want to go back around. She begrudgingly took my order and had a very bad attitude. I pulled away from the window to wait for my order and she came to my window and asked what I ordered. I began to start telling her what I ordered and she said "oh you're the one that ordered all the burgers??" But in a condescending tone. (I ordered 3 burgers lol). This is slowest, unfriendly and unmanaged business I have experienced in a long time. seemed to have plenty of staff, just untrained and unsupervised. No tea available when ordered and had to ask for my drink after finished eating. They kept saying they were waiting on the tea to finish making. Drive-thru, about 11 pm, and not many cars in front of me. My turn finally comes, and it takes forever for them to get on the intercom only to tell me to drive up to the window to place my order. Okay. Maybe there's something wrong with the intercom. Drive up to the window. Again, they make me wait a long time before taking my order. Finally, somebody takes my order and tells me to pull up; they'll bring my order out. Again, it takes them an inordinately long time to get my food out to me. Well, the fries were old, wilted, and so oversalted that any chance of possibly saving them in the air fryer went out the window. I get home; maybe I can enjoy my sandwich. Only it's not my sandwich. It's somebody else's order entirely. And from the looks of it, it has so much grease dripping from it that it could easily have supported an oil rig. I was never a big fan of Whataburger burgers and sandwiches. Just not a huge fan of the flavor profile. But during Covid, they won me over because their drive-thru was open nearly 24/7, and their fries were excellent. Always wonderfully crispy. And the spicy ketchup was great, too. A while back I ordered a burger from this place and ended up choking on several small pieces of black plastic in the sandwich. When I figured out what it was, I called the store and asked to speak to a manager. When the manager picked up the phone I told her about what I found in my food, and she tried to laugh it off. A little pissed off, I ended the conversation by saying I was just calling to warn her and her staff about it and that I would be reporting the restaurant the following morning. Curious about what would happen if I confronted a manager in person, I recently went back and told him about my experience and showed him the pictures. Whataburger is the gold standard for fast food breakfast. Their food always tastes fresh and delicious and they have great breakfast options. The breakfast taquitos are amazing. They are filled with eggs, cheese, and your choice of hash browns or breakfast meats. They also have great biscuits with your choice of either plain or jalapeño cheddar. The coffee and grits are both good as well. The hot cinnamon buns are fluffy and chewy and taste fresh out of the oven. The staff here are outstanding. They are attentive, polite, and they go out of their way to serve you at your table, ask what sauces you need, and keep the place clean and tidy. If you are in the market for fast food, Whataburger stands out as the best option for fresh and original food. You can't go wrong with Whataburger breakfast. read more
