THEY ROCK! Work so hard when it's literally always busy. I mentioned it was my boyfriend's birthday and they gave him a chocolate shake. I know it was something simple, but it really made his day (as out of anywhere in Bastrop he could go he chose Whataburger). Currently 103 degrees and the employee who was running back and fourth from the second line had a huge smile on her face and was very pleasant. I waited for the deliciousness we see on TV... what I got was a grid burger, I didn't order, THAT WAS FREAKING COLD!!! It was busy and I get it. But people work too f-ing hard for their money to spend it on CRAP!! Seemed as if the people working there were having a hard time figuring out how to fill all the orders inside and outside. We orders onion rings and they were cooking them in old brown grease that was SMOKING!! For God's sake, if your hungry as I am right now, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT go to this Whataburger... just keep going to another place unless you have time to negotiate whether or not you receive fresh food (or not) for your money!! I have never been wowed by an experience at whataburger but today was NOTHING but disappointment from this place. My husband is obsessed with whataburger so I figured i'll try it again. It was about 10:20 in the morning and we pulled up to the drive through. There were maybe 7 cars in front of us which didn't seem like many. FOURTY FIVE minutes later we get our food. FOURTY FIVE MINUTES!!!!! That's insane. We dig into our bags and the fries are cold. And by cold I mean not an ounce or warmth. They were disgusting. The burger was luke warm and very tough. My husband had a similar experience with his food. Unless whataburger steps up their game, I will for sure not be returning. Do better whataburger. read more

WORST WHATABURGER EVER!!!!!! Sat in the drive thru line for 45 minutes, not even moving for more than 10 minutes at one point. When I did reach the window and the girl handed me my bag, I checked it. Not only was the order wrong, it was missing a sandwich from what they rang up. I ordered a Whatachicken meal and just a grilled chicken sandwich. They rang up a Whatafish, which isn't even on the menu at this time and the only thing in the bag was the grilled chicken sandwich and fries. I told the girl I had been there 45 minutes and the order was wrong. I told her I was pulling around and I wanted to speak to the manager. I went inside and someone got the manager. His name was Jeff, and he had an attitude problem from the very beginning. My voice was slightly raised (whose wouldn't be after that ordeal), and he told me to stop yelling at him. I told him I wanted a refund and he asked me to leave. I said I wasn't leaving without a refund. After telling him this about 6 or 7 times, he finally went to a register and started my refund. While he was doing that, someone came in behind me and asked if I was in line. I told the lady, no, I've been here for 45 minutes, they got my order wrong and I'm waiting on a refund. The guy with her, goes OMG, you've been here 45 minutes? I said yep! The manager looks at me and tells me that I don't need to be telling them that! So now I can't even tell other customers the truth about their crappy service? The manager told me to come get my refund and he literally tossed the money on the counter at me, he didn't even put it in my hand. This manager had the WORST attitude I have ever seen in any establishment. He needs to be fired. I will be staying FAR away from this Whataburger. read more

Bastrop Whataburgers new manager Nathan is doing an amazing job. When the previous manager Alvin left a few months ago the service, food and cleanliness went completely down hill. We previously used to go there at least once a week. After going a couple of times and dealing with rude employees, and poor quality food we stopped going. Today we went in for the first time in 60 days and were very pleasantly surprised. Everything was clean and the cleanliness was maintained by employees while we were there. The staff was friendly, accommodating and seemed happy in their work. Once my order was completely wrong and cold, the other two my orders were also cold like it was just left out on a counter under the AC all day. Brought out of state family in for a quick meal to show off what a burger. Thoroughly disappointed. Myself and other customers all had to ask where our food was. My family's order completely disappeared and had to be remade. The food that was remade was wrong in top of it all. This is my second time giving this location a chance and it is by far the worst Whataburger I've ever been to. I did not realize it took that long to make burgers and fries.. I'm a patient person but my gawd get it together. Beyond that you'd think waiting so long for your food would be hot but nope barely warm patty on the burgers, fries tasted like they weren't fully cooked and soggy, forgot condiments we specifically asked for. It doesn't matter if there are 5 people or 15 people in line, you will be waiting in their drive thru for a MINIMUM of 20 minutes. My son who is deathly allergic to mushrooms but ironically like the mushroom Swiss burger without the mushrooms and add beacon. The old methed, snaggle tooth lady who took the order repeated the order the wrong way . So I reiterated how my son wanted it. She then said and I quote,"really, Really! You're going to go there , really " I explained again to this lady about my son's order. Then with hesitation I ordered my meal. Again I attempted to explained how and what I wanted for the meal. Again she repeated it the wrong way. Giving her the benefit of doubt I wait for my order. And low and behold... it was completely not what I ordered. I asked to speak with management. I explained how his employee was being when I created my order. The manager stated he would correct the order. Aa I waited another high school aged girl expressed to me in a threatening tone how I need to learn how I talk with people. Be a Combat search and rescue veteran with the United States Navy I explained to her that I have plenty of life experiences to be talked to like that. She I insisted that she was better than I and had more life experiences than me. So again I was told by management that it was a family establishment and I need to watch it. As if he was Threatening me. Then he brought out my replaced order, and threw it in a bag right in front of me. This was no, I'll place the meal in the bag for you. No it was literally thrown in a bag and then thrown towards me. Trust me corporate has been notified. But I raise the concern. Am I wrong? Or are others receiving the same treatment. Again you have choices in life. Make the best what is given to you at the time. Or find so something else that suits your expertise. Oh and lets not forget about the time the rat decided to commit suicide by jumping into the French Fry, frying grease. My son is safe and did not have to go to the ER because he was able to have a meal that wouldn't close his throat .
