    Chicken fried steak

Well, let's begin with it's been open less than a month. Does this change the expected service of the Texas Roadhouse? That's yet to be determined. We checked in online and only waited about 10 minutes for seats in a booked house. Hostess sat us at wrong table and in process of moving, dropped the butter from the badass rolls and never returned with more, thus allowing the well known rolls to get cold and uneaten. Next, I ordered a "dressed" beer because I need the salt and high blood pressure. It arrived with nothing. No salt, lime etc. they did offer to take it back, but had already waited for just a draft beer. And finally, food comes. My chicken fried steak was so cold, it was inedible. The gravy had congealed. So, they made it as they were still cooking wife's steak. And the noise. Lord Jesus. Bring earplugs and expect to text your friends or spouses in order to just hear them!! Hopefully, after settling down, it'll get better and I'll absolutely update my review!

A couple of weeks ago I ordered food to go from the new Texas Roadhouse in Bastrop. I was very pleased when my food was ready on time and they made sure I had everything I needed. When I got home, I was happy to see they included some dinner rolls and some of their delicious butter. We went back last Sunday for my husband's birthday and we all had a great time. It was my fault for not getting us on the waitlist on their app sooner, so we did have to wait, but not long. We enjoyed some peanuts while we waited and they have a nice room to the side where people can sit and wait. I got the 6 ounce sirloin and they cooked it exactly how I like it, the green beans were excellent and the side salad was good too. We all got their happy hour drinks and my strawberry margarita was very tasty. My husband even got to ride on the saddle while they sang happy birthday to him. It was a really fun evening! This restaurant is much needed in Bastrop and we will definitely be back! Plenty of parking.

Went here for the grand opening and would highly recommend- Elise was attentive and was friendly. The food was phenomenal and she even brought us extra rolls for the road. Road rolls, if you will. While walking to our table, definitely felt like a celebrity because there was an army of Texas Roadhouse employees greeting us from the door to our table. Very friendly and welcoming. Music was a nice volume and playlist was on par. Well done, Texas Roadhouse of Bastrop ‍

The food is really salty, starting grom the appetizer are all salty we had the pickle chips, twisted mozarella and potato skin the first two are really salty. The steaks are very salty as well the mac and cheese have no taste and like instant max n cheese the corn seemed to be from frozen or can. The country chicken my aunt cannot even continue eating because its super salty we ended up takimg it home. The staff and fhe servo e are prettt awesome though we like our server. The ambiance is good they are playing country songs which make it feels country Texas.

I loved the whole experience. It's such a cute space and has that elevated feel without feeling overly fancy or uncomfortable. We started with the grilled focaccia and Watermelon on Fire, and both were excellent. The watermelon was one of those dishes that sounds a little questionable on paper but completely works once you taste it. Sweet, savory, a little spicy and really fresh. We also had the Texas quail, which was beautifully cooked and full of flavor. I had the blackberry bourbon cocktail and loved that too. What really stood out during dinner though was how personable the service was. We never felt rushed and our server actually engaged with us, which made an already good dinner feel even better. I went back this past Saturday for brunch with my sister, her husband and my fiancé. It was definitely a livelier experience with more people around, but still a really nice atmosphere for a Saturday brunch. The service was good and everything came out as expected, although it didn't have quite the same personal touch that I experienced during my first visit. Between the four of us we got to try quite a bit. The shrimp and grits were rich, buttery and seasoned really well. The smoky pork tostada was packed with flavor and the potatoes on the side were honestly some of my favorite bites on the table. The French toast and fried chicken was as good as it looked, with crispy chicken, fruit and just enough sweetness. The only thing I wasn't completely sold on was the biscuits and gravy. The gravy was brown, which threw me off because that's not what I normally expect from sausage gravy, and the biscuits were a little too dense for my preference. The flavor wasn't bad at all, it just wouldn't be my first choice the next time I go. Other than that, Store House has been a hit for me on both visits. The food feels thoughtful without trying too hard, the plates are beautiful, and the restaurant works just as well for a dinner with your sister as it does for brunch with a group. I'll definitely be back.

Trogging through paperwork and the sloth paced management team we were looking for both a change in scenery and pace and we found it at Barstop Roadhouse. Upon entry you're greeted by the crooning of Johnny Cash and the bustling kitchen working with precision accuracy to deliver and create meals worthy of the title "best burger in Barstop county for 18 consecutive years." We sat down and within seconds a server appeared with menus and a friendly smile. We scrounged the menu looking for a burger that would appease a hunger only equal to that of a Lovecraftian god. I chose the swiss mushroom burger an exception had to be made because as you all know I am deathly afraid of lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and onions. I feared that taking these items off of the swiss mushroom burger would sully the appeal and flavor profile. Upon arrival of the burger all doubts where cast aside. THE BURGER The burger arrived bathed in a golden glow. Covered in button mushrooms and layered with delectable Swiss cheese these two ingredients elevated the burgers taste profile. The mushrooms added a deep umami flavor that was perfectly paired with the sweet tasting swiss. The buns where the ribbon in top, sweet sourdough bread conformed to the burger creating a warm pillow separating fingers and patty. To summarize this single mushroom Swiss burger turned a travesty into a celebration of life.
