Pesto chicken sandwich - A meal featuring a croissant sandwich filled with cheese, vegetables, and onions, placed on a white rectangular plate. Accompanying the sandwich is a small white bowl of tomato soup garnished with three croutons. The plate is set on a dark surface with a fork and spoon nearby, suggesting a casual dining setting.

I forgave this place and have been back now 6 times and I love the Philly roll I love the special world famous sauce and fries and I'm trying the tacos today I had a great burger last time I was here and the ingredients are always fresh! The servers are good too.. it's always tasty and clean !

Best Philly Cheese Steak I've had since Philly! And the fig jam...OMG!!!!! Can't say enough! Gotta just go try it!!

Salad - A large salad featuring mixed leafy greens, including red and green lettuce, topped with crumbled white cheese, chopped nuts, and dried cranberries. A small metal container of dressing is placed on the side of the plate. The salad is served on a white square plate, with a dark table surface visible in the background.

I just happened upon this place at lunch time on the way to Fredericksburg and yum!! I had loaded fries with pulled pork and a spring salad with strawberry vinaigrette. The fries were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside and covered with a delicious creamy queso. Absolutely delicious! The salad was equally delicious with fresh ingredients, creamy feta, and addictive dressing. I would come back and get exactly the same thing! It's a cute place to enjoy a nice meal. Service was definitely efficient- our server seemed rushed and in a hurry the whole time but brought out everything we needed.

A dark table holds a charcuterie board with sliced cheeses, cured meats, and three small bowls containing jams or spreads. Two glasses of white wine and a glass of water are also on the table. A wooden serving board with sliced bread is visible in the background. The setting appears to be a restaurant or cafe with chairs and a red wall in the background.

We went over to Stem & Stone this evening for an early date night. I have really enjoyed their food on previous occasions. Tonight we had the meat and cheese charcuterie board and we really liked everything on it and the price was reasonable. We did have to ask for some additional bread because it didn't come with quite enough. The waitstaff was very friendly and attentive. We both had a glass of wine and probably should've gotten a bottle because it was a little pricey. They have a small dining area but it's normally not very crowded. They do have a bar area but we have always utilize the dining area. I would definitely recommend stem and stone but if you want any of their charcuterie boards, they only offer them on Friday and Saturday!

It was quiet inside on a Friday evening, but the food was great! I don't know how the restaurant wasn't packed. The cheesesteak sandwich was rich and delicious. The wine was crisp and paired perfectly with a charcuterie board. There were three different cheeses, two different meats, and three different spreads. We loved trying a variety of everything. Definitely recommend!

First time at this local restaurant. The food was good. Staff was very pleasant. It wasn't super busy and it was nice and spacious. However, the most impressive thing for me was that the waiter got my 2.5 year olds order and put it in before we finished ordering. So it was out fast. For those who have young kiddos know how awesome this was. This was the first time anyone has ever done this for us and I was very impressed. I will be recommending this spot to my local friends for sure. Oh and they have alcohol options. That's just not my thing so I came for the food. Their bathrooms were clean and they have multiple seating options: regular tables, tall tables, and bar seating. Come try the local eats!

This spot was on point, I was nervous when I pulled up the menu on the website, it definitely was things I didn't want for breakfast. But walking in u get a menu and it was some good breakfast that Butterscotch Pecan Pancake was pretty darn good. Shout out to the young lady who works there, she ran outside to give me my car keys. I appreciate that!!! Keep your amazing spirit!! This place is a hidden gem in Bastrop TX

My husband and I came to Stem & Stone for our anniversary. We arrived at 5 pm when they open. We ordered a bottle of wine, and some festa fries. They were absolutely delicious! We split a steak panini and the buffalo chicken salad. My husband said the panini was delicious and the buffalo chicken salad was one of the best tasting salads I've had in the Bastrop area. We loved the restaurant so much I have a special order pending for charcuterie boards pending as a to go order for a trip.

Beautiful Brunch -- and no waiting! New brunch menu items include Cajun Latkes. They're hot, crispy, TONS of flavor (not too spicy) and be sure to get the remoulade sauce instead of sour cream. Perfect for sharing! Pan sausage is finished on a grill for the bbq flavor. These guys just love the details. Thanks for another yummy time!!

Pulling up to Roadhouse felt like I was about to film a low-budget country music video. The aggressively unpretentious energy was immaculate. The all-dirt parking lot said everything! No curated patio, no aesthetic succulents just straight up vibes and dust. The place was packed at 1 p.m. Our server, Raven, took great care of us from the jump. Rave was very efficient, friendly, and had zero attitude. We ordered a basket of fries, a portobello mushroom burger for me, a cheeseburger, a Philly cheesesteak, upgraded side salads, and, of course, their famous carrot cake to share. Now, let me confess something: As a Californian, I walked in with absolutely zero expectations given the facade. And yet... the fries were perfect. The portobello burger was juicy, well-seasoned, and very satisfying! My friends inhaled their cheeseburger and Philly like they were participating in a competitive sport. Lol. And don't even get me started with their carrot cake. It was disrespectfully delicious! This was seriously the most humbling "don't judge a book by its cover" moment I've had in a while. Roadhouse doesn't need any curated lighting or a reclaimed-wood Instagram wall because the food and service speak for themselves. I drove into a dirt lot with skepticism and left faceplanted by my own bias. Consider me corrected, Bastrop!

Then, there's Country Bumpkin me that fancies biscuits and gravy and an old fashioned greasy spoon morning after drinking. I can't count how many times I've passed Texas Grill. That includes being a passenger headed to mom's brothers place in Winchester circa early 80's to bypassing Bastrop on the way to Houston in the last ten years. Thing is, I'm dating a country girl these days who swears by their coffee and jelly options. We dined recently on a Saturday morning; heading south afterwards to the stock show in San Antonio. Place is similar to diners across 'Murica; counter seating along with a large dining area. Buffet area is for lunch; straight forward menu for breakfast. Veggie basket on the lunch menu was comical; mushrooms are a vegetable? Breakfast review: One egg ordered with soft bacon, crispy hash browns and a biscuit. I was even offered a bowl of gravy AND an extra biscuit if I was still hungry. WELL, I wasn't. Egg was cooked to order. Taters took up half the dang plate! Bacon was perfect. Smothered that damn biscuit and dumped half the shaker of pepper on it....Well done y'all.

Regardless of the glowing commentary found on TripAdvisor or other tourist-driven platforms, I…read morewould encourage readers to approach such praise with a healthy degree of skepticism. While the restaurant presents itself as charming at first glance, the illusion quickly fades upon closer inspection. The facilities are notably dated, with restrooms that feel neglected rather than merely "vintage." Unfortunately, the food follows suit. The chicken arrived undercooked to the point of being unacceptable, the salads were devoid of flavor, and the mashed potatoes--if one dares to try them--proved equally disappointing. I found myself seated at the counter, making pleasant conversation with a delightful young waitress, which, regrettably, became the highlight of the entire experience. Any lingering amusement, however, was quickly diminished by a particularly persistent fly that seemed intent on joining me for dinner. In short, an establishment that relies far too heavily on appearance and reputation, while neglecting the fundamentals that truly matter.
