I bought the 20lb ground beef combination. The product came quick and communication was smooth. Support local ranchers!

We started eating local grass-fed beef a few years ago and found the quality of Bastrop Cattle Company's product to be top-notch.

He then recommended this place, mentioning it's a bit pricey, but worth it. After trying it himself, he said he doesn't go to any other Mexican meat markets or local stores for meat anymore. Once I finished at the barbershop, I looked it up on Google Maps and realized it wasn't far from Generations Barbershop in Round Rock, TX. When I walked in, it felt like a small grocery store, but they didn't have fresh produce, just dry goods, ice cream, and their meat selection. Only a few options were available today, but hopefully next time I'll get to see the full range of meats they offer. The staff was really friendly. Even though I'm Hispanic, I don't speak fluent Spanish, but I didn't feel out of place or like I was being judged for it. What can I say, I'm a "coconut" not by choice, but my parents only spoke Spanish to us when they were mad. Overall, the customer service was great. I bought about 6-7 pounds of meat for my family. Honestly, I felt like I didn't buy enough, but when I saw the total $74. I figured maybe it was a good thing I didn't go overboard. I got around 2.5 pounds of ribs, 2.5 pounds of beef fajitas, and 3 pounds of chicken fajitas, all pre-seasoned. Normally, I avoid pre-seasoned meat because some places use it to move older products, but after grilling it, I was impressed. The meat tasted fantastic so tender and flavorful, much better than what you'd typically get elsewhere. The prices range from $11.99 to $14.99 per pound, but honestly, it's worth every penny!

One cashier can get overwhelmed by having to cash out and come back to identify the food. Caldo de Res is good, yet the carnitas were a bit undercooked. Bistec is dry and underseasoned. Fair place to explore, yet for authentic breakfast tacos-try another. At least the grocery side offers variety to explore.

Look at the amount of bacon I discovered when I got home, took my taco out of the foil and plated it :-) I order my tacos there without cheese, because the cheese they use tastes too much like Velvita to me. But they otherwise do a great job. I love their migas and they always have several fresh salsas to choose from. They also have Pupusas with Curtido! If you don't know what that is, you're missing out! It's the best and most iconic of all El Salvadoran dishes, and it's got a flavor profile that should be loved by anyone who likes Mexican food. Of course, it's not just a restaurant. It's a grocery store. They have meat and fresh produce and narrow but well-stocked aisles. The prices are good. The staff is friendly, and they speak English as well as Spanish. And being there is a bit like stepping into Old Mexico. So swing in by. They're over by Chapala.

AKA MEAT! toppings were fresh around the board - and everyone raved about their sandwiches - all had different breads and they were talked about too. i got the french dip $15 and could only manage to put away 1/4 of it. meat was tender & well seasoned, good cheese ratio (i skipped onions & horseradish mayo) and au jus was very good. cant remember the last time a group order or various dishes received rave reviews across the board! side special of carrot fries was hot, fresh, well salted & surprisingly yummy. i dont like carrots - in any form - but i guess i have now found a form i like! side cheese curls was SO chewy-licious seasoned in garlic butter! and dont skip the desserts! several of us got the lemon bar $4 which was everything bright and good! i also got a NY style b&w cookie $5 that was a big as my hand. service was fast & friendly and amazingly perfectly accurate - important if you are taking food to go. which might be a good idea at peak times. seating at bar, and a few hightops with 2 hightops for 2 outside. also a picnic table outside. we all have other dishes we are anxious to go back and try. and in a town where a lot of places roll up their shops after lunch, its nice that turcotte's stays open til 9. meats by the pound available as well.

Busy Friday lunch crowd, and you've got to be okay with cozy and tight. I was solo so it was going to be an easy transaction. I'm going to spend upwards of $17 or more on lunch, not what I expected .Gave it a shrug and decided on the kebabs. Bar tops indoors. Small patio dining in front offers tables. Kebabs were slightly undercooked for chicken so I poked around and nibbled on those. Rice was mushy and did not taste fresh...I'm Asian, I know rice. So that remained on the plate after two bites in. Best part was the warm grilled pineapple, devoured that. Half the meal had to stay on the plate unfortunately. Sitting by the kitchen bar I was hoping to get easy banter with chef, but not a smile or acknowledgement came my direction Was truly hoping for better!
