Part of my plate.

This was our first time here. Apparently, the restaurant has been around for quite a few years, I believe this was their new location. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the restaurant. Very polite, place we clean and organized. We sat down, chops and salsa were brought to our table. I ordered a michelada, its was good. I should tried the tea, the tea can make or break a place for me. I ordered one of the biggest plates, two cheese enchiladas, a crispy taco, queso, rice and beans. Everything was delicious. Maria had the beef enchiladas with rice and borracho beans, Maria said the beans had a spicy kick to them, and were delicious. Plenty of parking, and plenty of seating, indoor and outdoor.

This is how much I love their Margaritas

Shout out to this amazing team who works as family the music people outstanding smiles and service any owner should be proud of but most of all the Food Amazing and place so clean the smell wonderful. Shout out to service waitstaff chips salsa got flavor beyond but the most amazing thing is inspection in view of the pride taking in high standards to view it matches the food management and staff if you ever thought heaven was on earth it is here. Kids free meal!

Food was good, I tried the stuffed Avocado plate, a bit too cheesy inside rather have more chicken inside. My daughter tried the beef chimichanga..very good, not the best. Son got the shredded chicken Chili Relleno which he loved. Kids eat free on Tuesday so that was nice with two toddlers with us! Service was very good! Attentive, efficient, friendly...a nice family atmosphere. I would go back.

Good bang for your buck. The menu is typical Tex-Mex and tastes like all other average places. A strength is the bargain lunch deals until 3 pm during the week. For $10 you can get one enchilada and two small sides. I had a chicken verde plus guacamole and black beans aged was quite satisfied. Happy hour prices weekdays from 2-6 are also pretty good. E.g., a Mexican martini filling 2.5 glasses for$9. It lacks ambiance and the seating does not seem permanent. They could move these booths and tables elsewhere easily. There is a lot of empty space. That said, the bar looks ok. Service is very good.

Chicken tortilla soup. The carrots was the key to the flavor!

After Five hours of yardwork, everyone was starving. We headed out to El Nuevo Mexico restaurant which I have never been to. They accommodated a group of 16 with no problem. The one waitress that handled the group was excellent, pretty much got everything spot on. With this being my first time, I was leery of the tortilla soup. It turned out to be great. I will definitely be back next time I'm in Bastrop Texas.

Wow, the chili relano al pastor is primo¡ Had the Chipotle sauce and charro beans. Shrimp Diablos were great as well.

My table with a hole in it

First time here and we were sat at a table with splits and he's from hot food. We were told the owner won't replace it! Service is good as was the food. It's clean but noisy. Didn't like the chips and dip. A bit overpriced compared to other local Mexican restaurants.

Stopped back in for brunch. Still great food, good prices, and great service in a clean restaurant. Chilaquiles are the bomb! Check it out.

The food: where to even start.....I hit the jackpot here. The salsa tasted like it was freshly made and served warm, so so good. The refried beans (which I don't typically order) were hands down the best I've ever had. The enchiladas were top notch, full of flavor and not overly salty. Honestly, I have nothing negative to say, it's a must try when in Bastrop!!

ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING -- BEST MEXICAN FOOD ANYWHERE…read more If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. I've traveled all over Texas and across the U.S., and I can say without hesitation that Las Cocinas Mexican Grill is hands-down the BEST Mexican restaurant I have ever been to -- and that includes all of Austin. My family and I come here several times a week, even though we don't live close by. That alone should tell you how incredible this place is. Must-try favorites (do NOT skip these): The Margaritas - Very strong and absolutely perfect. Order them half & half (half on the rocks, half frozen). Trust me -- you'll thank me later. Nachos Al Carbon (Appetizer) - The beef fajita meat is out of this world. Tender, flavorful, and unforgettable. Beef Fajitas Cremosas (Entrée) - Get them with EXTRA sun-dried tomatoes. Oh. My. God. I have never had anything like this in my life, and it's something I crave several times a week. Stuffed Jalapeños - So good I sometimes order them as my entire meal. And the onion rings they're served on? Easily the best onion rings I've ever had anywhere. Beyond the food, the staff is absolutely amazing. From the moment you walk in, they make you feel like family -- warm, welcoming, and genuinely happy you're there. That kind of service is rare, and it's one of the many reasons this place is so special to us. And yes -- I always forget to take pictures of my food because I eat it before I remember to take photos for a review . That should tell you everything you need to know about how good it is. We are incredibly thankful for Las Cocinas. It's not just our favorite Mexican restaurant -- it's our favorite restaurant, period, and the best in the entire area by a mile. Perfect in every way.

We came back for breakfast. It was very good…read more My wife had menudo and a barbacoa taco. She's very picky about both and was extremely pleased. And they offer both options every day/all day, which is great. She'll come back with her sister to enjoy it again. I had two breakfast tacos: one with egg, sausage and cheese and the other with migas. I really loved the migas. While the first taco was unremarkable, the migas was great. It was perfect, in fact. And it really celebrates their home made corn and flour tortillas. The only thing I didn't like was the salsa. It tasted like canned tomatoes and it was a wee bit salty and not very spicy. I really liked the migas, though. It was made with fresh jalapeño and had just the right amount of heat without needing any salsa. So I think this is one of those places that does some things very well... enough to build up a solid base of regulars, even though some of their other offerings were disappointing, like improperly reheated enchiladas. But if you know what to order, you can really enjoy this place. Oddly enough, they have chorizo on the menu, but don't list it among the available proteins on the breakfast taco menu, which I personally find very strange. Chorizo and egg is such an iconic breakfast taco offering. I'll bet they'd do it justice.
