With the disclaimer that all of the staff and the location were amazing... the owner of this place came in and was absolutely horrid. Yelling at staff, storming in and out, and yelling outside on the sidewalk as well. He was really horrible to the girl working the register and to several of the staff members in the kitchen as well. Never have I received food service that was faster, more accurate, or higher quality than at this location. My food came out perfect, the restaurant is spotlessly clean, and multiple employees checked on us throughout our lunch. The kids working this store are top-tier, and they are the reason I wanted to write this review. A job very well done - thank you! Missing item in my order and extremely disappointing customer service. I was missing an item from my order and was told that no refunds were available and that if I wanted the item, I could simply "come back and get it." Unfortunately, I was already on a road trip and nowhere near the location, which was explained clearly. To make matters worse, I was then told they couldn't locate my order to issue a refund, despite the fact that I had been there less than 20 minutes earlier and had my receipt with all order details. I was told there were "too many people who ordered since," which made no sense, as no one else was there at the time. This situation could have been resolved easily, but instead I was met with excuses and zero accountability. Very frustrating experience and not how customers should be treated. read more

I used to go to this Schlotzskys often... until the manager verbally assaulted me for pouring out a foul tasting coke he had prepared for me... I got a Dr Pepper instead... then he proceeded to tell me how he had slept with my mother the previous night. I have no idea why he chose to start like that on one of his better customers and first customer that morning. He told me how it didn't matter what he said to me... that he owned the place and it was part of his 401k. That's great... but I will no longer be contributing to his retirement! read more

I've had the Apple Fall Harvest sandwich before so I know it's delicious but this time was a huge disappointment. There were no apples at all and, no exaggeration, only about a half a teaspoon of fig jam on the inside very edge. I actually thought it was half of an olive when I saw it. That is how little fig jam there was. For an entire sandwich!! So really all it was is a turkey sandwich with 2 pieces of red onion (minus the lettuce which is what I requested). We were treated like trash by the manager for trying to add a review about their restaurant online. I was about to add a positive review, but got quickly reprimanded by this man. Rude attitude, right from the start. Zero customer service. I had never been treated this way before. This was my first time coming in to try it out, I asked for a refund before getting my food, will never be back!!!! If seriously freaked out, we were also the only LATINOS in the restaurant, so I'm pretty sure this had to do with racism. Do not recommend. This place is trash. We got a couple of original sandwiches for lunch yesterday and they were so good! I ordered through the app and I really like that you can customize. The only thing about the Schlotzsky's in Bastrop is that you never know how long it's going to take. There are times when I drive right up and my food is ready, but there are times when they are so short staffed that the inside lobby is closed and only the drive-through is open. That means the line is winding through the parking lot.. Maybe they will solve their staffing problem soon so that they can be more consistent. read more

This Schlotzsky's is one of the worst I've ever been to. I have gone a few times and just figured they were having on off night, but I've decided that this is just their norm. We ordered and then sat in the dining room. When our food arrived, the guy who brought it to our table said, "here's your crap" and then dropped the tray on the table. Seriously? My husband's flatbread was soggy and not cut all the way through. It was almost inedible. My food was ok, but not the way it should have been. My husband did speak to the manager as we left, and she was clearly not concerned about her employee's behavior. Definitely not returning here. read more

Been meaning to write this for a long time. Schlotzsky's used to be my favorite sandwich on the planet. But, something happened to the bread. The bread used to be the best part. It was toasted perfectly on the outside, properly chewy on the inside. Now, it's not toasted enough and gets crumbly and soggy. The recipe for the bread seems to have changed. It's just not good anymore. Saddens me. read more

I ordered a kids meal, which is $5 and I was charged for a $15 meal. I couldn't be given a refund because the manager doesn't allow refunds. The person at the window said she acknowledged her mistake, but I still won't be receiving a refund. I use to love the original sandwich, but since 2021 the meat or bread has changed to a cheaper source, the sandwich just does not taste the same anymore. Service is good when ( luke) is working, but falls off when he is not there. Staff gets order wrong or forgets chicken/toast with salads. Some staff act like it's a inconvenience to serve customers. Been coming here for a few years now. Restaurant is very clean looking and smelling, sandwiches are always wonderful, and the employees are young, which is great, but I watch the manager jumping all around the restaurant helping out, maintaining a great pace on speed. I was looking for a restaurant that prepare a good salad here in bastrop. After several restaurants schlotzsky's is the one who have a delicious salads. if you will take it as a main dish they have the perfect portion and delicious salads. The service was very good too. I totally recommend it. For sure it is now my place for salads. I will try their sandwiches but for now salad is in my menu. read more

We have been visiting Schlotzkis restaurant in Bastrop off and on for over 10 years and usually it's a good dining experience, but this past Saturday we went there for dinner and were very disappointed. what we noticed first was it was not busy at all, which usually means you will get even better service. unfortunately, that was not the case. We also noticed that the owner (Luke?) was not there and there was a noticeable difference in the level of service. we ordered 2 kids cheese pizzas, but were then told there was no pizza dough. we were told they would use an alternative bread, but when the food came, it was 2 grilled cheese sandwiches. next, my wife ordered a salad but it arrived with no bread, so she had to go back to the counter to ask for bread. then, she discovered there was no tomato. when she asked if the salad comes with tomato, she was quickly told "no", but when checking the online menu and the menu behind the counter, it clearly says that the salad includes tomato. the workers seemed bored and unconcerned with providing good customer service. some of them were hanging out in the dining area and did not seem to like being bothered. very disappointing! all I can hope for, is that the owner/manager reads these comments and takes steps on improving service, especially when he's not there. the food (and service) have been good in the past. we would like to continue to visit Schlotzkis in the future, but for now, we will dine elsewhere unless there is a positive response to this review. fingers crossed! if I knew how to contact the owner directly, I would not leave a negative review on social media. read more

We had been waiting about 10 minutes inside for our order and the young man putting the sandwiches together coming out of the oven yelled out he was tired of the manager putting him down and walked out. Production came to a stop. The manager eventually took over the position and Eventually she put two sandwiches in a bag and tossed it up on the counter at my wife and walked away. Not a word spoken. What has happened to this place? They have removed everything from grasp (salt/pepper/tea/hot sauce/sweetener) and they are typically understaffed so you must wait to be inconvenienced. No managers, seemingly no adults. No one even wearing company attire. We saw a playboy hoodie, a Pabst blue ribbon beer shirt, North face, lots of advertising but none for Schlotzkys. Nobody running crew, spent close to $100 and the salad was forgotten we had to ask for it, the sandwiches had wrong ingredients. Ultimately disappointed. Been here many times. They were able to work with me when I did not want bacon on my sandwich, remade it for me with ease. There is a long wait sometimes. Food is okay Many people have almost hit my car here due to them just pulling out, they need to trim the bush by the stop sign. Please stop parking the moblie car directly in front of the drive way / close to the road. This is a huge complaint for me. read more

The staff is rude!! My husband has been there twice in the last month. Both times I tasked them not to put onions on my sandwich. The first time my husband took the sandwich back and asked them to make it without onions. He told them I have an allergy and that I can't have onions. One of the guy's in the back said, " Are you serious?" The girl that took our order said, "You'd think someone with an allergy wouldn't eat at a place that has onions." My husband told them, "It doesn't matter. She wasn't making a big deal about it. Just remake the sandwich and if y'all had read the order as you were making it, you would have known not to put onions on it in the first place. Well today while we were waiting for an oil change, we tried it again.. I gave them my order, and stated loudly.. "I can't have onions because of an allergy." To which the same girl as last time said, "Yes ma'am. We don't put it on there if you ask for no onions." I shook my head and sat down. When my sandwich came out, it did have onions again. My husband started to take it back. Instead I told him not to do it today, because I didn't feel like listening to their nastiness today. We have been going to this Schlotzkys for years now. It has always been so clean and all the food outstanding. Not this visit. Garbage was piled so high we couldn't throw ours away in the trash. Behind the front and food area was filthy and junk everywhere. Boxes and trash on the floors and only a few bags of chips. Looking to the kitchen wasn't any better. The lady that waited on us had the nastiest food smeared shirt on and acted like we were taking up her time with our order. The containers of tea were kept on the other side of the counter and were so caked on with gunk. Then when I asked for the hot sauce the manager snapped so rudely at me. All these years we have recommended this location and have admired how well it was managed. No longer. This location appears to have hit the dumps. Rudeness and filth won't bring this loyal customer back. read more
