This Whataburger was so disappointing. The line was getting long and they still only had one poor girl at the registers. There were flies buzzing around the entire place & half the tables were still sticky with trash littered around. There was one poor employee who was doing his best to clean up messes, but they really need more staff. We ordered 3 adult meals and one kid meal; fries were missing in one meal and one meal was completely wrong. Easily the worst managed Whataburger in amarillo. Messes up your order constantly. Wait times are ridiculous, they've created a habit of having you pull forward after you paid and have you wait 15-20 minutes. It is very unusual for me to go back and change a review, especially to give less stars. But our last visit to this Whataburger location was a total sh*t show. First, the poor guy at the register couldn't figure out how to give my wife the free Whataburger she had on the Whataburger app. He went looking for his manager, and guess what? The manager was "in a meeting". So he told my wife to order it within the app, which she did. The app said when it would be ready. About 15 minutes after it was supposed to be ready, an employee calls out my wife's name, but is holding an order that clearly isn't hers. So my wife tells them that and they take the order away. Minutes go by. Then they ask my wife what she had, and the things she ordered are on the tray, but there's also stuff she didn't order. They give my wife the whole tray, but it's been long enough for the fries to have cooled off. As for the extra items, I can only imagine that someone in the drive-thru didn't get what they ordered. Driving through Texas we were told this chain is very famous so we decided to try it. Aside from the burger being huge I didn't find special in any war; rather underwhelming. I guess I am spoiled by In-n-out burger in California being so amazing. We ordered from the drive through so can't say much about the location since we actually didn't go inside. read more

I love Whataburger. Everyone I know from Texas loves Whataburger. Wonder Wife does not. Which is so puzzling. I mean, she's pretty much perfect. And really hot. But, she doesn't like Whataburger. This was my first time trying whataburger... and I was pretty excited! Wasn't a fan but it's probably just this location. Got a whataburger with cheese Burglar wasn't fresh or even warm... just cold. Cheese not melted, lettuce was limp, and it had Mayo which they told me did NOT come on it... so sad. Hubby got the pico burger... but same, ice cold burger, unmelted cheese... just disappointing. I have been to several whataburgers across texas and this one was by far the most disappointing. Popped in for lunch and there was nothing fast about this food, or good. Burger seemed like it had been sitting around for a bit, as it was dry. It was also sloppily put together. The fries were also off. Stale was the best way to describe it, as they were hot, but not crisp. Ended up tossing most of the fries. On the plus side, they didn't mess up my iced tea (i did that one myself). You buy two of everything on the menu (without any condiments on any burger) and ask your new love of the moment what she wants. When ready, you grab the bags, stumble back to the Uber. Make out with her elbow crease on the way home. Fall twice going inside, destroying all the food (but you will still eat it). Pound down the trash that they call a meal. Attempt to make your move on these two chicks you see because you have double vision only for your new future ex-wife to hurl on your chest and pass out. We were on Interstate 40 and saw a billboard that was advertising a green chili burger. I really like green chilis so we stopped at this Whataburger just off the Interstate. We used the drive thru, and they served up a fresh hot cheeseburger that was very yummy. I have heard Whataburger in Texas compared to In and Out in California. They are both regional favorites. I enjoyed this burger as it was very good. The two brands are very different, they are only similar in that they are local favorites. read more

The service was SO friendly ~ I mentioned one of the soda/pop fountain drinks was just serving up water and it was changed out immediately. I thought the burger tasted like a good old, delicious-hamburger with all the fixings (but for mayo ) I've heard tell there's nothing special about them...but to me (not having one in 15! years-It was GOOD.) There was no one in the drive through. I asked for WHATASIZED meals. My order wasn't repeated back to me and I assumed it was right. $45 is a lot of money to waste when they don't give you what you ordered. We were driving back from Colorado to Texas and were looking forward to a Whataburger. We opted for this location based on a few Yelp reviews against other locations. Great choice on our part. A new clean facility with a lot of room. Staff was great. Food was fast and warm. And just what you expect from Whataburger. My only complaint is they remodeled or just built this location and the bathroom is a one-holer. So there was a queue the entire time we were there. First world problem. I'll be back. I love Whataburger. I'm pretty sure I've stopped at this location on almost every trip back to NM from Georgia because we can't wait the entire drive to get our Green Chile burger fix. Last time I was in, we were missing our chicken nuggets from our kids meals and the staff informed us they were being made and were in the fryer and gave us some complimentary strips while the kids waited. We do not have these in MI....so when we got a flat tire during our cross country move, I went here to get something to eat...I figured try something new. I am sooo glad I did! I love, love, love the green chili double. Two beef patties topped with Monterrey jack, American cheese and roasted green chilies. It is not spicy at all...but it is hefty....so be hungry. I took one bite and I was in love. I thought to myself, why have I never thought of this before and then I thought, every burger should be topped with roasted green chilies!!! I only ate half because I wanted to savor it.....sadly, Spunky, my chihuahua, devoured it with a big waggy tail. The fries were thin, just how I like them. You order out front and they give you a number....then they bring you your food (took about 12 minutes)....then they come around with a condiment tray...they even offered to refill my beverage. When I got into the restroom I had the pleasant suprise of the glory hole wich I had to try out, that was the first red flag. I went up to order and it took a few minutes for them to even notice my presence. I ended up ordering a jalapeño and cheese burger with extra cheese they didnt even put on my sandwich after I payed an extra 55 cents for it.
