The festive decor at the Santa's photograph center was over-the-top sparkly, with moving reindeer! The selection isn't huge like the major SoCal shopping giants, but the stores they do have are genuinely useful. You've got a solid mix of clothing spots, beauty, shoes, tech, a few unique boutiques, and enough anchor stores to make it easy to get what you need without hopping all over town. It feels very practical, like a mall that understands everyday errands instead of trying too hard to be something it isn't. Value wise, it's honestly one of the better malls in the area. Prices feel fair, parking is effortless, and you're not spending half your day fighting crowds just to grab a couple things. Even the food options give you a good range, from quick bites to sit-down spots that don't make your wallet cry. It's the kind of place where you walk out feeling like you got everything done without the stress that other malls bring. The ambience has definitely improved. Parts of the mall still have that quiet, echoey vibe, but the updated sections create a nice contrast because they feel bright, clean, and fresh. The lighting is better, the layout feels more open, and it's one of the few malls where you can actually hear yourself think. It has a relaxed energy that makes it easy to stroll around without feeling rushed. You can tell they're still working on polishing everything, but the direction they're going is promising. Overall, Montclair Place feels like a mall in transition, but in a good way. It gives you convenience, decent variety, comfortable ambience, and a calm experience that's rare these days. I'll definitely keep coming back because I can see the progress, and I'd be happy to update my review as they continue improving.

Nowadays streetwear trends have shifted, blurring the line between casual fashion and high fashion. It's made its way into high fashion, collaborating with major fashion heavyweights like Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Dior, Vetements, etc. to list a few. Kings to me is what pure streetwear is all about at its core. No bots, no asinine reseller mark-ups, no insane pricetags, no bullshit. Just tried and true streetwear styles from iconic streetwear brands that have withstood the test of time. I'm thankful Kings and others like it still exist (Proper, BAIT, Bowls LA and Union are both kind of). I say kind of because Bowls opens whenever they want and Union definitely has a certain audience in mind with the brands they carry. Anyway, maybe I'm looking back at the history of streetwear with rose-tinted glasses, but there's no denying that the fact that a place like Kings can still thrive despite the fact that a lot of boutiques I used to frequent have either shifted to online exclusively or just shuttered their doors permanently is respectable. The fact that you can still walk into a place like this and get some sick drip without playing bullshit games and waiting for drops or buying bots to cop shit is something I truly appreciate. The staff is cool as always and if anything, their selection has improved over the years and they've definitely stepped up (heh) their shoe game as well. Anyway, my very long drawn out point is that Kings is still king when it comes to finding streetwear locally with an excellent selection. They carry all the brands; new and old. It's like Costco. You definitely aren't walking outta there with just a $5 rotisserie chicken. You're gonna walk outta there with a whole ass wardrobe if you haven't gone shopping in a VERY long time, like me.

Experiences like those are the reason I felt comfortable shopping here and believed this store was part of my community. That trust was broken during a recent visit. While checking out, two other customers were arguing loudly in front of a child. I said one sentence to de-escalate and encourage them to separate. I was not involved in the dispute, did not raise my voice, and did not continue engaging. Other customers even stated that I was not part of the argument. Despite that, I was singled out and treated as the problem without anyone taking the time to ask what actually happened. When I raised my concerns, the store manager, Cody, was dismissive and condescending. He repeatedly told me to calm down and lower my voice even though I was not yelling. After I disclosed that I am part of the ADA community and explained that his manner of speaking was making me uncomfortable, he continued escalating instead of listening. I was publicly chastised, embarrassed, and ultimately told to leave while security stood by and did nothing. What hurt most is that I raised sincere concerns and the person in charge did not even take my name. He made it very clear that he had no interest in hearing what was important to me or understanding what I had experienced. There was no effort to help, no effort to de-escalate, and no effort to treat me with dignity. I left deeply distressed and did not feel safe returning to the store, even to address damaged items from my purchase. This was not a frontline employee issue. It was a failure of leadership. I want to feel safe and respected in my own community, and this experience made it clear that, in that moment, I was not. Very disappointing and heartbreaking experience.

The staff is kind, helpful, and professional, and the donation process is very convenient. They are open Tuesday through Saturday and closed Sunday and Monday. If you're dropping off donations, you can simply drive up to the donation area, and they will take the items from your car and provide you with a receipt. That makes the process so easy. Today I met Maria, the store manager, and she provided excellent customer service. She also shared helpful information about where some of the donated clothing and items go, including libraries and different organizations they partner with. It was a great learning experience and made me feel even better about donating here. I would definitely encourage others to bring donations here or stop by and shop to see what they have. She was so rude and said yes she is a new manager. I told her I can tell and everyone seems so unwelcoming. She didn't even care and said thanks. I'm like the change is not in a good way. She was snappy and incredibly rude and defensive. She wanted to change the price on a doll we were gonna buy because she said it was an antique doll, this doll was literally and Our Generation doll from Target. So she doesn't even know the product. Be carefully shopping here if they consider a Target doll an antique. Really disheartening because it used to be such a wonderful store. And after seeing the responses from the new manager I can see that she is incredibly unprofessional. It says a lot that she argues with customers leaving a negative review. Will definitely not be coming back and none of the collector friends will either.
