Montclair Place is one of those malls that surprises you once you actually walk around and pay attention. The selection isn't huge like the major SoCal shopping giants, but the stores they do have are genuinely useful. You've got a solid mix of clothing spots, beauty, shoes, tech, a few unique boutiques, and enough anchor stores to make it easy to get what you need without hopping all over town. It feels very practical, like a mall that understands everyday errands instead of trying too hard to be something it isn't. Value wise, it's honestly one of the better malls in the area. Prices feel fair, parking is effortless, and you're not spending half your day fighting crowds just to grab a couple things. Even the food options give you a good range, from quick bites to sit-down spots that don't make your wallet cry. It's the kind of place where you walk out feeling like you got everything done without the stress that other malls bring. The ambience has definitely improved. Parts of the mall still have that quiet, echoey vibe, but the updated sections create a nice contrast because they feel bright, clean, and fresh. The lighting is better, the layout feels more open, and it's one of the few malls where you can actually hear yourself think. It has a relaxed energy that makes it easy to stroll around without feeling rushed. You can tell they're still working on polishing everything, but the direction they're going is promising. Overall, Montclair Place feels like a mall in transition, but in a good way. It gives you convenience, decent variety, comfortable ambience, and a calm experience that's rare these days. Services are always proper and professional, the mall is very clean and has lots of sales/discounts running year round, so you'll get good value most likely. I had to make a return at Sephora & this was the closest location as I was in Ontario for work. It was a bit like Twilight Zone when I followed my GPS directions & from the outside, the mall looked completely deserted. Only 2 cars in the parking lot, the anchor stores were all shutdown, no signs of life. Drove around the other side of the mall, saw no cars in that parking lot. At this point, I was confused. Drove to the other side & FINALLY, there was a small 2-story parking lot that was full of cars!! Geez! Got seriously worried if this mall was completely shutdown and abandoned. You have to park and enter the "food court" entrance which opens up into the main, center area of the mall. There were some decorations for Halloween and Dia de Los Muertos. It was Friday during peak lunch time (12:30pm) and there were a handful of people in the food court. I think there were 6 food court stores but only Panda Express had a line of 3 people. I was really hungry but the selection was blah & unappetizing so I hard passed on the food court. The center section of the mall has the concentration of stores, as you walk towards either end of the mall, windows are boarded up/covered. There's a Victoria's Secret & Pink at one end and I bet they barely get any foot traffic. The anchor stores are Macy's, JC Penney, Barnes & Noble, AMC Theater and Main Event (bowling, billiards, games). Nordstrom's is gone. Sears, of course, is gone. Although this mall is clean, well-lit, people working in the stores are all very nice & helpful, it just seems like it's on the brink of closing down. You could tell back in the 80's - 00's, it must have been THE place to go. But now, it's struggling. I would actually recommend going here if you're in that area because there's no lines at any of the popular stores. Sephora stores in Glendale & Pasadena have long lines, no matter when you go so I was relieved that I was able to leisurely look at the different cosmetic brands and get in & out at the register very quickly. Montclair Plaza should try & get one of the fitness clubs like 24 Hour Fitness or Gold's Gym to open in the old Nordstrom's space and seriously consider an active Senior Living apartment complex in the other anchor store spaces. I would love to live in a spruced up mall! Hopefully, I just went on an "off day" and they get good business on the weekends... read more

Montclair Plaza used to be the name of this mall. It is now called Montclair Place. It was my go-to mall when I was a young teenager. As an adult, I would still come here from time to time. Last weekend, I was at Wells Fargo Bank right across from this place. I was craving for a boba drink so I decided to swing on over to check out its food hall. Yes, they have a food hall now. Wow... they have made some major changes... great changes actually. I didn't get a chance to walk around the mall, but I really liked what they did with the food hall. There are about 10+ food vendors. To name a few, Boba World, Noodle World Jr, Pokeway, Two Hands Fresh Corn Dog, Charley's Cheesesteaks, Panda Express. I only checked out Boba World as that was the reason for my visit. Tons of indoor seating. They also have some outside patio seating. They even have a couple lounging areas. Restrooms are right there near the entrance. I have to say it's a really nice setup. I'll have to return to walk around this mall to go down memory lane and check out their other food places LOL. This mall is okay and would only recommend if you have something specific to buy! The exterior isn't very nice and kind of looks run down on some entrances. However it is very quiet inside and some aisles seemed almost out of business ? It is very clean and doesn't have a lot of crowds which i would say is the best part. read more

I love this mall but the only business that needs to be removed is the indoor playground next to barns and noble its dangerous they won't allow grippy socks with a slippery floors that they have there not handicap friendly my husband is an amputee two of his toes have been removed so we has to wear special shoes to keep him from falling and we were told that he HAD TO remove them even though we brought surgical shoes to cover his shoes to keep their floor clean on their own separate business page on yelp someone broke there tall bone The workers there have always been very disrespectful even when a simple question was asked this business does a huge disservice to the Montclair place and out of the safety of the public it needs to be removed read more

Ok this mall is cool!! Nothing to crazy but I do come here and buy a few items from the cute clothing stores they have. Not a big mall but decent size. I came here before the movies to do a lil shopping until the movie start. I like that they have a Barnes & Noble, and the AMC inside. They have good service so no complaints with customer service at the stores. I get good deals too their Macys is pretty good and H&M with deals. They also have my fav See's Candies! :) Overall, I would say come to this mall you will buy something. And you can come if you're going to the movies or after! This mall had its ups and downs over the decades. I had given up hope for its future when anchor stores like Robinson Mays and Sears went out of business and a lot of restaurant chains around the mall started shutting down. The mall owners pulled a trick out of their hat by converting an anchor department store space into an AMC movie theater. Than they upgraded the food court to Moreno Street, leaning on the success of Haven City. Now the place is hopping once again. New stores have moved and in they have a new Cool Factor. I'm glad to see the mall revive, since so many others have not. It helps to have a favorable location right off the 10 Fwy and next to Montclair Metrolink station. read more

Do not ever get your pictures taken at the Montclair place with Santa. Our reservations were set for 1:45 and we waited in line since one oclock. They told us at 2:05 that Santa wouldn't be back until 3 o'clock. They basically did not give a f*ck about us having to wait and just went on break. No way will I ever pay for this there ever again. This is a great mall! It's not too large, and also not too small. You can walk through both levels in about one hour. And it has all the typical shops like H&M, Hot Topic, FYE, and the two department stores Macy's and JC PENNY'S. They also have a pretty decent sized food court with two fairly unique eateries- Doner & Gyros and Oli's Tacos. I have not seen either of those two stores in the other major malls. I love the Gyros sandwich! They also have a Lazy Dog which is just outside the indoor mall. The parking is good and easy as well. Overall, a nice mall that will probably have Nything you need. read more

I'm so excited that the potato corner is finally open on the 2nd floor, right next to Cinnabon! Yay! I usually get the regular fries with chili bbq flavors. I did notice that they only have 2 sizes available as opposed to 3 different ones like the one in Ontario Mills. Oh well. The fries were golden crispy goodness! Love it. Also, I like the umbrella display on the other side of the mall. There are a lot of vacant stores inside due to the pandemic but hopefully, there will be other businesses that'll occupy the empty ones soon. read more

I came to this mall today in hopes to find a massage place for my mother and there weren't any to be found. other then that the place was really clean and nice. Plenty of places to eat there as well and starbucks. Love the new place they added for bowling but kinda pricey $33 a person. Main Event is what its called. Don't take Santa pictures here it's a huge mistake. It's run so poorly and disorganized. Even with reservations expect to wait 30 mins just to take a picture, expect to wait another 60 mins just to pick and pay for the picture.. instead of hiring someone extra they make you wait. My sales agent was Allison who was very helpful , she made me a sample of recommended shade to try even though I made a purchase and she explained the return policy. Prices were in line with other retailers. Check out was pleasant and they gave samples which is not often done at other places. Recently went shopping at this mall. The mall is clean and the food court finally has some new food options. However, I was VERY dissapointed to see PETS are now allowed inside the mall. A lot of people were walking their dogs inside and that is just a big NO for me. Please , who ever thought of allowing this, think about this twice because that is a big liability for the Mall. Some people dont like pets, Pets are not always people friendly, some people cant control their dogs. Not only that but the whole second floor is carpet, can you imagine picking up after a dog has gone and done their duty on carpet? the stench on the carpet and the extra work they are creating for the cleaning crews at the mall. I hope this changes, because otherwise people will stop coming to this mall. If you want to have your pet with you and take them out for a walk find a PET PARK! read more

Montclair Place has gone through many renovations throughout the years, whether it be the inside or the outside, with an addition of a dine-in movie theater. Had not walked inside the mall in decades, except for JcPenney a few years back. Even the JcPenney here is huge compared to all the others near me. I was in the area a few weeks back and also needed to run an errand at Bath & Body Works. Looked up the directory and found Bath & Body Works located near JcPenney. Perfect! Parked at JcPenney and walked to the main center of the mall to Bath & Body Works. The interior of the mall looked very modern to what I had remembered and it seemed that most storefronts were occupied, which is great compared to the slowly dying Puente Hills Mall. Everything is spaced out and seems most regular retailers that one would expect are all there at Montclair Place. There are store directories also located throughout the mall if you need to find a certain store or can visit their online website for easier access. I did not have much time to walk around, but will most definitely decide to come here in the future for any shopping. read more

I purposely avoid the mall to complete any of my holiday shopping, choosing instead to go with places like Marshall's, TJ Maxx, and others. There are a number of reasons for this, price and crowds being the most essential. This year was a different story, however. I was strapped for time and had to round out my shopping pre Christmas Eve. I am so happy to report that it all went better than expected starting with parking. Indeed, my daughter and I ventured out in the (crazy) rain. We parked right in front of Barne's and Noble -- score -- as we were three cars from the entrance and too lazy to carry an umbrella. We were unscathed by the rain. Once we entered the mall, not only did I find what I needed relatively quickly. The lines in the stores I visited (Tilly's, JcPenney, FYE, and more) went fast, cashiers were efficient, and everything was smooth. If you exclude the fact that by the time I was done, my daughter had literally shopped 'til she dropped and was walking on her knees at Tilly's, it was a great visit that has me encouraged to visit the mall - for no reason other than to browse - again. I felt like the mall itself was clean, well-managed, and safe. read more

My elderly Mother in Law, who is also an amputee, waited over an hour just to return a box. We were especially confused when one employee left when she finally reached the #1 spot - it turned out they were calling appointments. I approached one of these folks, explained the situation, and asked if my MIL could just return her box. Here's where it went downhill. The employee at that desk told me I wasn't allowed to do that. He wouldn't wait on us regardless. Really? The customer doesn't get a choice? At that point I lost it, swore, and was asked to leave. Don't care. What awful customer service! read more

Montclair Place is evolving and doing an amazing job but still a place of Nostalgia! A place you can bring the family and say this used to be this and this was right here. Show them where the old movie theater's where and soon enjoy the new one! How magnificent is that!!! I'm one who likes things to stay the same but if they do how on earth would we ever get to try new things and have new experiences... Some additions are Kids Empire a place for little one's to come and enjoy themselves. The Canyon Montclair Events, Concerts, comedy and restaurant. Montclair Amc set to open 2020 and recently the Lazy Dog opened. We also have Spectrum Cabel for those wanting cabel or any other services. It is good for a business to recognize it needs a facelift. The design of comfortable inviting communal spaces have been adopted every where. Montclair has jumped on this trendy bandwagon. I like what they did it looks cleaner and trendy. Right now they have this traveling art display "Wings of the World" last time I was in the teens were standing in the center of the displays for photo ops (Social Media at it's finest) the only eye sore (which can be seen throughout the mall) is the lack of stores especially where Macy's once was. This isn't the mall it used to be when my daughter used to shop there as a tween or even in high school. I hate to see places fail so I do hope that they are able to convince other stores to come in. Please note I am aware that 'brick and mortar' store fronts are reaching a point of 'something from the past' due to internet sales and the rise of rents in these locations the shop owners don't produce enough revenue to pay rent let alone staffing. This is my personal commitment to stores I will give you the 1st opportunity for my sale if you can't come close to the price I'll purchase it on line, however if you can... you have my business. I didn't spend too much time there due to i just went to windsor for a dress and walked around alittle bit but also stopped for boba at Boba World. That places was good!. Shopping here is limited but you'll find what you want. There's always parking (even on holidays) and as of JANUARY 2019 it is never too crowded. They are adding stores and a movie theater so it may get a lot busier in time. I do enjoy shopping here although there's no Zara ( yet?) This is my favorite mall to go to. Granted it is the closest mall to me, but it also has some great stores. This mall has Nordstrom's, Macys, Victoria's Secret, Sephora, MAC, and etc. In addition, it is currently going through a remodel. They are adding an AMC and more restaurants. The AMC will be dine-in with a bar. During the holidays they decorate the mall so nicely. It really makes everything so cheery. They have a Disney store that is small but has a lot of great stuff. I've bought a lot of cute items from there. I recommend checking the mall out. read more
