This review is strictly for online order fulfillment that was sent to this store. I was greeted when I walked in and asked if I needed help with anything. I let the lady working know that I was there to pick up an online order for two t-shirts that I ordered online--one was a Tribe Called Quest tee, and the other one was Motley Crue. She found my order, pulled it, and also gave me a 25% off coupon for any in-store purchase. The transaction was done in probably less than five minutes since I had a concert to go to the same night. I'd definitely send my merch to this store again to pick up any online orders since couriers outside of USPS are horrible with delivering orders where I live (gated community). The shirts are pretty good quality as I've purchased from here before. Give them a shot. Their service and acknowledgement is leagues better than Pac Sun in the same mall. read more

I spent all this time just now picking out items for the lunch money amount and the thin lady with dark framed glasses told me i cannot buy more than five of the little blind boxes. Not sure when this rule was implemented in store but i'm pretty sure i've been able to buy cases of tokidoki figures here and all the other boxlunch stores. This is a large Hot Topic store! Tshirt, socks, sweater, underwear, earrings, rings, decoration items for Goth, Memes, fandom, Eboy, fantasy, anime, rock roll pretty much anything. Want to dress unique and different this store is key. They always have a special going on. Make sure to sign up for their membership so they can send you coupons and specials during the year. During the weekend they are very busy so expect to wait a lot in line so come during the week to avoid delays. read more

I really like this location. Every time we've ever walked in there always greeted immediately. I really like that. I also notice that everything is always displayed properly. Love Love this company. I buy my husband things he loves, bought my elementary school kids their backpacks and treats for me. Why do I have to read the return policy to Tiffany? Backpack with the tickets attached... I lost the receipt. Oh well. Return policy says "if you do not have the original receipt, we would be happy to exchange the merchandise for you or issue you a merchandise credit for the current selling price. Tiffany graciously offered for me to exchange. I asked just for the credit. She said no, but I could go back to the store and they could reprint my receipt. Hi asked if I could get a credit, she said she could "only do an exchange." I work in retail. I get it. You don't want to accept the $15 return. But seriously?? I asked about the return policy. Then I had to read it to her and ask if that's possible. Eventually she did it, but why give me a hard time about it? Maybe I'm dressed casual because it's my day off. Maybe I look younger that she thinks. Why make me read the return policy so she feels forced to follow her company policy. It's fine. The workers here are so kind and helpful. My cashier Laura rung me and mother up and was so polite. Before we got rung up, around the store she told me abt the buy 1 get 2 free on outer wear and even so they told me about the sale for the clearance (buy 1 get 1 free). I saved a lot from these deals for gifts for our family! Also, there was this guy who also helped us alongside Laura and he was so helpful with finding Nightmare before Christmas clothes, he pulled out several themed shirts for me to pick. Love this store! this happened some time ago but i felt the need to finally share my experience since im sure at least some of these workers still work here. i was just shopping with my boyfriend and i had known an old friend of mine worked there but i did not cause any issues. a worker came up to me with the usual friendliness they have, asked me if i needed anything in particular and if i had any questions i could feel free to ask. then i later noticed my old friend walk up to the worker and whisper something in her ear. both my old friend and the worker then were staring at me and i felt i was given dirty looks while my old friend was telling her something and then after that exchange the worker started being very rude to me when i had asked her a question about where something was located and when i was ready to check out. i asked her where the belts were located because i did not notice they were behind me and she responded with an annoyed look and pointed behind me and just said "right there" she suddenly had an attitude that she did not have before. i don't know if my old friend had said something bad about me but i find it very unprofessional to treat a customer poorly over some petty issue that happened YEARS prior and the other worker involving herself in drama that did not concern her. i even asked my boyfriend to make sure i wasn't just being sensitive and he agreed he noticed the worker giving me dirty looks and he noticed the change in her tone and her attitude towards me after her interaction with my old friend. really disgusted to know that some of the people who work here act like highschool mean girls. we're adults grow up. you're at work act like it. i'm a long time customer of hot topic and a long time customer of this location in particular and that made me not want to come back. read more

Things just aren't what they used to be. HT used to be unbelievably cool store. Like, it was mandatory that you had a couple of piercings to even enter, right? I have to say that I was beyond disappointed when I visited this last time and saw that damn Justin Bieber kid's t-shirts next to my beloved Metallica and Tool...*gasp*...WTF? Are you serious? I remember being in high school and coming in here to browse for candy colored raver jewelry and manic panic hair products! The store hasn't changed much, whatever it is that kids are into, they carry, plus a wide array of band shirts and paraphernalia. I don't think Hot Topic ever was some super cool trendy store. Its the suburban answer to punk rock and always has been, but its still fun to shop in and this location is generally well stocked, has polite employees and a nice clearance section in the back. read more

The main reason for higher stars is the staff. I've never been in here when I wasn't greeted in a very friendly manner, and any questions I had were quickly addressed and answered . They don't hover, but they're always nearby and easily approachable. I'm not a big fan of their selection (most of the stuff runs really, really small) but the stuff I do like there is great. For instance, Disney stuff with more of an edge than going to the actual Disney Store. And they have a good selection of fun hair dyes with good pricing. The corporate offices are terrible when it comes to customer service, but the employees at this location make up for it. read more

Let it first be said that I am now officially "too old" to shop for myself at Hot Topic. The place I once shopped at exclusively for all of my clothing/accessories has become the one place I should absolutely stay away from (when you walk into a store full of what's considered "popular" by today's teens, and you don't know what anything is or referring to, you gotta NOT shop there). Anyway, I still stop in from time to time to do shopping for friends (who are much younger than I am) or my cousins (who are teens). The shop is very crowded, the music is too loud, and you can't tell the difference between an employee and a customer (Yes, I realize how old I sound right now). Anyway, they do carry a lot of "cool" trendy things, and every time I pick something up as a gift for someone, they tell me it is great or that they like it (or they lie to me a lot. The prices aren't too bad, as they always have some type of "Buy One, Get One Free/Half off/$1.00" sale going on. The ultimate reason this place isn't rated higher by me is that the employees here, though they all collectively greet you when you walk in, couldn't care less about you once you're shopping/browsing. read more

I used to hate shopping at this Hot Topic location. It has definitely made a massive improvement over the last five years. Employees are very friendly and sincere when they help me at the register and answer my questions. It's a little too crowded, but it's easy to find what you're looking for. I don't shop at this store very often at all but I am a huge Halloween and Nightmare Before Christmas fan so I mainly was looking for a few specific items I had seen online. I like their accessories and have even ordered stuff online for store pick up (which takes FOREVER and is very slow). As far as the staff goes I feel like the greet you and all but they tend to get irritated with you after a while I have noticed. It seems like they are quick to dismiss you. I mean, you are working customer service, right? At least hide the fact that you are annoyed. I won't be coming back for a while. The staff was amazing and one staff member in particular. When I was in line to pay the young lady ringing up my daughters item she was one of two people in the store working at that time. Behind me there were an older couple probably early 30's with a child who kept saying can you just hurry up, what's your issue, this is insane your so slow, well my son who is 25 turned around and told them to have some respect all the while the couple was cussing at her and my son. All of this Leads up to my review.. due to them and their ignorance she forgot to put the receipt in the bag. No big deal I called when I realized I didn't have it. Laura told me she realized right away and she ran out to try to catch me but I was already gone. Laura made sure to let her manager know and she let me know when she would be working so she could make sure I got my receipt which I did end up needing. Laura saved me by keeping the receipt for me and informing her manager. I believe all employees should handle themselves in the same way. When I went back Laura recognized me immediately which once again impressed me. I think hot topic is very lucky to have such a wonderful employee. Very disapointed with one of the sales person. I didn't get his name but he was working 12/14/16 in late afternoon, tall, white, Treated me and my boy friend as if we were attempting to shoplift. Took an item out of my hand as I was going into the dressing room. (I did not intend to take it with me I had forgotten I had it in my hand). Very uncomfortable to shop under these conditions. Went in to spent the 15 hot topic bucks i got at christmas store was not busy at all 2 people checking out and a group of friends talking. I stood in line for 10 mins trying to get help with a skirt that was up high. A 3rd employee appeared i said excuse me 3 times trying to get his attention and was ignored. I then was asked by someone else what i needed when i told her she said ok. I then waited another 15 mins as the guy fiddled with computers and on the phone and a girl left for the day. another couple walked in as i was waiting and the guy helped them then went to work on a register with one of the original customers leaving me still waiting. I finally got tired and placed the items i had already picked up on the register and walked out both employees saw me and neither one said anything to help find out what was wrong or try to keep the sale. I will go to a different store from now on as this is not customer service at all. Just lost a $300 sale today must suck! read more

I've always liked hot topic since I was younger. They have great products, but this rating is for the staff. One of the girls when we first came in was super friendly and greeted us. As we looked through the store for an r2d2 dress we had seen online under the Her Universe section of the website. We saw everything else they had on that section except for that dress. So I decided to ask the girl at the register (not the one who greeted us). I told her about the dress and I asked if they had it just to make sure we weren't just missing it. She gave us attitude and told us no we never have, so I asked do you know if any other stores may have them. And she said no her universe is all pretty much online exclusive no one else would have it, so we were annoyed and just left. She could of checked if others stores have it, I know they do that all the time for me in Brea and they are so nice there. Also her universe was obviously not an online exclusive if they had everything else from it. We also went back to check online to see if maybe it really was an online exclusive, but it wasn't. Now I understand if it's sold out in stores but she should of bothered to check and see other stores around when we asked. It wasn't busy, and there were 2 other employees around. She could of looked for us, but she was to lazy to do that for us. Very disappointed, felt like she just wanted us to leave her alone. read more
