This is a great brunch spot with the girlies, a super fun work event, the perfect birthday activity for any age - and you get to take home something memorable. Something you created alongside people you shared this memory with! Did I mention that there's FOOD? I just got a coffee this day, but my sisters had some tea and a pastrami sandwich. I stole a bite of the sandwich, it was indeed delicious. Next time, I'm going for a brunch outing and I WILL be indulging in some mimosas. The most beautiful pain and sip place I can think of. So you come in, order food and drinks if you'd like and then find a place to sit. Go pick out the pottery piece you would like - I will warn you, this is the hardest part of the process. After that, there's a station with all the supplies you may need (paint and paint palettes, paint swatches after firing, brushes, sponges, stencils, paper towels, food paper to sit things on, water bowls, I'm sure there's more I'm missing). Return to your table, paint, order more food, play with the super fun games they have?? (We played with a miniature pool table. Sure, it was missing some balls, but how often do I get to play with a mini pool table?), and when you're ALL done, take your piece to the counter. They'll have you take a picture of your item before paying for it. You will use this picture to pick up the item(s)! You pay for it and it's ready to pickup in 8 days! Plan ahead :) I do wish that there was a little more guidance when you arrive, but with that being said, everything *is* on their website. Some information is a little confusing or not current, however. I also wish that this place was a bit better staffed, but I know that's an issue many face and this business appears to be fixing! When it was a little rushed, I could sense the frustration of the person behind the food counter. Completely understandable, but it leaves room for improvement! Came in with 10 people for a booked painting session on Saturday at 7pm! This place is super cute and pottery painting is always fun! I like that they serve more food than other places I've been, so you can eat dinner while you paint. We ordered the charcuterie board for 6, 2 pizzas, and a few bottles of wine. The charcuterie board was yummy with classic foods and we really enjoyed both the spring fever and spinach and Gorgonzola pizza! The wine list was pretty small with about 4 white options and 4 reds ( I think ?) but we were all satisfied with the ones we got. I like that they had instructions on every table of how to prep and paint everything from beginning to end so we could be very independent through the process! From what I saw, most pieces were between 25-60. They had a decent amount of options to pick from, including a plates, bowls, mugs, and trays, as well as animals and trinket holders. I would've loved a few more paint colors but what they had got the job done! There was a little chaos with the payment because of our reservation, but everything got sorted out and we had a great time! Really cute pottery + coffee shop in Fremont! I did a group hand building class and came back twice to glaze and pick up the finished piece. You're basically left to your own devices, so I'd recommend coming in with a solid plan. It's great to have instructors in the first segment to give you tips and help troubleshoot if needed. Our instructor did come over an hour late, so I felt rushed because I had another commitment later in the day. They also have pre-made pottery that you can just paint. I will definitely want to come back and try that next time! They have a small parking lot with a few spots, but street parking is manageable, though you may need to circle around a bit. There are a lot of cute restaurants nearby too, this is located in such a cute neighborhood. I'd definitely come back, probably just to paint and not build. I visited wet clay cafe on my way to gasworks park! The cafe is conveniently located right outside of a bus stop and is only ~10 minutes from the park. I loved the earthy tones and airy vibe of the place which doubles as a pottery studio! I ordered an iced chai latte ($6) which was reasonably priced and really good!! It was basically milk, but the other beverages are nice. All my friends decided to paint something different, and their price ranges are fantastic. They range from around $15 - $55 a piece. The vibes are adorable, and everyone is just in their zone enjoying the ambiance. They are also very helpful if you have any questions about how to paint, or what the next steps are. Also, bonus! They have 2 adorable little puppies wandering around. They also interestingly have some sort of reptile (not wandering around). We stayed here for around 2 hours just chatting and painting. I think this is a cute concept! I haven't heard of a pottery + cafe place, at least in the Seattle area. I honestly thought that I was at the wrong place because it looks like a regular cafe from the outside. I came in with a group to paint pottery (I believe reservations can be made for parties of 6+) on a Saturday afternoon and the inside was full. I don't think we would've gotten a table if we didn't have a reservation. I had a quick chat with someone in the line though and she shared that she came in on the weekday and it was pretty empty. Starting the whole process is a bit overwhelming, as there aren't really instructions. I think I would've understood how to start eventually from looking around, but it would've taken me a while. There aren't any staff helping so I had to rely on my friend for instructions. The cafe is split in half, with one side working with pottery (shaping the clay, etc.) and the other side is the cafe + pottery painting. The paints are located in a corner but I wish it was in a more open area because you could have max 3 people standing there. Other than the awkward layout and lack of instructions on how to get started, it was cute experience! read more

Super fun experience. We went to the Saturday social class for a friend's birthday. Instructor Erin was patient and good humored and most importantly let us all get into it right away. Other pottery classes probably have you do prelim work for hours before you get on the wheel - with this one, we got to get right down to it. I was so excited to check this place out! A group for 3 went in for my birthday. They have a full coffee bar (obviously), would be cute if they had seasonal drinks but ordered a basic vanilla latte. Their almond crossaint was so tasty! We were new to how the pottery painting went. You scan a QR code that makes you watch a video on how the process works but it would be so great if there were visible signs with the directions and even label the sections? We obviously understood what to do but we spent a good 10 mins trying to figure it out. You paint your item - they had so many options! Then you pay and then it and pick up in 7-10 days. this place not only charges more than other ceramic painting shops (30-35$ a mug compared to ~22$ at others) in the entire state, but is simultaneously under staffed, lacking proper tools, doesnt clear glaze it for you, overfilled with customers, and is still touting signs to welcome dogs LMAO. they don't even have room for the humans, be real. constantly getting bumped into and filled to capacity. also they only have ONE cash register and they serve pizza/coffee/food and drinks, so you have to wait for them to make someone's coffee before you can even pay for your ceramics and leave. okay but enough griping, the fundamental issues: -no staff around to answer any ceramic questions -prices higher than other places without above is completely unwarranted -there's NO thin line squeeze bottles. you have to use paint brushes. this is a major lack of conventional tools that other places have for detailed painting -you have to do your own clear glaze overcoat to be food safe. what ?! other places dip your pieces before firing it for you. the best part is THEY DON'T even tell you this. we had to ask the front register and go back to do it. they used to say this on signs but it isn't even stated anymore and most of these pieces are drinkware.. so much of the shop's required actions, support, materials, are lacking, yet their prices are just gouging. if they did all this and had lower prices i'd at least understand but this is lack of quality in every direction and still charging out the ass. i'd say this is classic seattle stuff but Paint the Town in uville is a million times better. I wouldn't bother with this shop. not even cute enough for all its issues. read more

Like the reviews mentioned, they are understaffed and tools aren't super great.. but people were friendly when I had questions and I was able to walk around and pretty much find/figure it out myself. I ordered a caprese salad which had the most delicious balsamic vinegar and perfectly ripe tomatoes. I also tried one of their delicious looking tortes. I indulged with the raspberry torte. Thus place is cute and the food was decent but it could definitely use some improvement. First, they need to be more upfront about the 20% service charge. It applies to everything, INCLUDING THE POTTERY. The problem with that is that you don't pay for the pottery until after you've painted it, and the sign about the service charges at the cash register, not where you pick out the pottery. So my pot labeled $70 turned into an $84 pot (plus tax) and by the time I realized that, I'd already committed to buying it by painting it with glaze. I'm pretty sure that's not in accordance with the law. And when I asked the employees if they got this 20% as a tip they were vague and wishy washy. It's still not clear to me if it's retained by the company or if the employees get it as a tip. Which means it's probably retained by the company and they want you to tip on top of it. Just raise your prices and be clear that tipping isn't expected because your employees are compensated. Unless your employees aren't well compensated and they still need to be tipped, but who knows. Second of all I went there after work at happy hour and the place was busy and they only had one person working. The person working was borderline yelling at customers that they were all by themselves whenever someone had a question. Then when another employee came in, the employee who had been there started loudly complaining to her about customers. Within earshot of the customers. Nice. I was on the other end of the café and I could hear her. The person who had just arrived was smart and turned up the volume on the music so people couldn't hear her coworker complaining, but it's not very nice. I don't expect employees to kiss my butt but it's tacky to hear them talk crap about the customers. Overall I had a decent time but it would've been nice if there was someone there beside the single barista. It would've been nice to have a pottery person there to answer questions. The manager is knowledgeable and sweet, Kayla the barista is super welcoming and the daytime teachers helped me learn quickly without a class. I feel like the systems that are in place to have your pieces fired are really efficient! I did have an issue with a couple staff members heckling me on my membership status which is rather annoying for how expensive it is per month. We had a really fun time here on a date night. The food was good though they seemed understaffed, and both times we went in the ordering experience was different; it was a little confusing. But someone might have been just subbing in or new. I do feel like they could really walk you through the experience a lot more, so you're not left to wander around and follow the signs. Also when we picked up our finished piece, online it said to go show it to the front cashier to confirm what you were taking was yours, but he seemed confused at why we did that, so I guess it was fine for us to just leave with it. If I'm the person running this place, I'd gear it way more toward people doing it for the first time. There seemed to be lots of regulars who just come to silently paint, but most customers are going to be first-timers doing a novelty activity, so you really need to make it not confusing for them at any step of the process. But there are lots of really nice options for things to paint, and once you get the hang of it it's a really fun novelty experience. I had such an amazing experience at Wet Clay Cafe! I first stopped in just to have a cup of coffee and a pastry, and I was inspired to look into their class offerings. I took a Friday Flyer Social Class and had an absolute blast! We got charcuterie and wine to start off and then we had a great class taught by Hayden and Kail. They were both great teachers and I really enjoyed having two different perspectives. They made me feel comfortable with the wheel and I ended up really happy with my final piece. I was nervous and intimidated going into the class but they both immediately eased my tension. They were both so friendly and inviting!
