KOBO Capitol Hill is tucked away at one end of Broadway on a cute little corner that's easy to miss if you're not looking. They have an AMAZING collection of local and international art, books, and other small finds that make it feel like a new experience every time you visit. They also have virtual art shows featuring new artists every month, offering them platform to show off new work in a time where it might not otherwise happen. Due to Covid, they've taken a lot of precautions for their customers and staff, which I really appreciate. Private shopping sessions can be booked online, and curbside pick up was a really smooth experience!

So, that was a complication, but I could see into their lovely showroom through the windows and I could see they had the faucets I wanted. So, I called just to check and boy was I glad I did- their price for the faucets was almost $200 less (each) than at Aurora Plumbing! I had some email back and forth sorting out the finish details and Mike was super helpful and pleasant, despite some stress on my part. I would buy Instant Chai packets and too often I would be disappointed after one sip and honest to god I would just toss away the whole box as it's not worth it but Jaipur Avenue changed that perception. Based out of Seattle, their tea is sourced, prepared and packaged in India. But kid you not, I have tried most of their flavors and they all kick up a storm a good one indeed full of aromatic spices and just a tad bit sweet. Some of my favorite chai blends are Original Masala Chai which is packed with black tea extract, spice blend extract (ginger, black pepper, green cardamom, black cardamom, clove, mace, nutmeg, and cinnamon) and the other 2 blends are Ginger and Saffron. They have tons of other blends too, without sugar as well. I always keep 2-3 packets of Jaipur Avenue Masala/Saffron/Ginger at work and same at home. Came here for the community aspect as they hosted one of many locations for a town wide community cocktail walk was going on. We sipped cardamom-lemon vodka here as featured by a local restaurant. While there we chatted with the shop employees who were very nice. While sipping we browsed the studio looking at are pieces by local artists which can be purchased. A perfect example of supporting small business and local art. Push/Pull lives up to their statement being a part of and promoting the community. There is a fair amount art supplies here - including but of course not limited to Sketch books, brushes, glazes, paints, easels and more. They offer classes and have info about events going, so if you're an artist and want to be in more 'in the know' it may be worth checking out Push/Pull simply for that. I hope Push/Pull continues to be a part of the neighborhood!
