I LOVE their green chili!!!!! Waitstaff is friendly and welcoming, super friendly if you're a repeating customer. (Reminds my boyfriend of Cheers!) I always either get ice tea or coffee with my meal. Skillets are really good but my favorite is either their Mexican steak-n-eggs or Johnny's Special. Mexican steak-n-eggs comes with 2 eggs your way, steak cut to bite size pieces smothered with homemade pork green chile with cheese. Johnny's Special is like a Denver omelet all mixed up, bell peppers, onion, ham, eggs, cheese... again, topped off with green chile. Can you tell I love their pork green chile? If you get there before 11, they usually have pancake specials that's less than $5. For someone who wants non-breakfast items, their sandwiches are really good. Monte Cristo is one of their specialty and I love their fries. Fries are seasoned and on the crispy side. Yum! They have really awesome soup too, everyday is a different kind. My wife and I have been searching for a Diner like this for a long time. When we stumbled upon this gem we were not disappointed. First off, from what I can tell, this is a family ran restaurant. The hospitality is amazing! I tried the Mexican Steak and eggs breakfast and it was amazing to say the least. The green chili was perfect, being a 6 gen native, I'm very picky about chili. You'd be surprised but the best part of breakfast were my eggs. I always order over medium and if you follow suit, you know they never turn out. Not these eggs, they were PERFECT. I wish I knew our servers name for a shout out but I didn't get. This guy is awesome, he even brought out some home made chicken soup they were going to serve that day for us to try. The best little hidden gem. Breakfast is my favorite meal. No matter what we choose to eat the quality and speed are awesome. We have a lot a favorites, the chili relleno is the yummy crispy one we love in Denver. The steak and eggs is a petite sirloin and tender cooked to order. The skillets are so flavorful they are huge servings as well you will not leave hungry. The best thing about coming here is the owners and staff. I've gone to woodys and things next door a few times but somehow never noticed this cafe. This place is popular amongst the locals and was packed the whole time we were there. Right away, you're greeted by someone to seat you and then another person comes to take your drink order. (Tip: if you're a coffee drinker, it's bottomless here and they're really good about keeping your cups full) I ordered the steak burrito and my boyfriend ordered the pancakes. The steak burrito had eggs and steak on the inside, smothered in cheese and green chili on top, and was served wth a side of potatoes. I mixed it all together and it was delicious, the green chili really made the dish. I tried a bite of my boyfriends pancakes and they were nice and fluffy. Most places only give you two cakes but here they give you three. Prices are pretty affordable, about $7-9 per plate. read more

This was the best service of any restaurant I had been to in the recent past. These people go way out of their way to make you feel welcome and happy. The food is exactly what you would expect for a little café style place. Decent quality and the price was great. Our waitress was awesome. The coffee was so-so, but that is my only complaint about this place. A definite gem. Cons: The coffee could be a little bit better. Pros: Awesome service. When my 3-year-old son plays restaurant, he always pulls out his Westy's menu for us to order from. It's his favorite restaurant, and he knows exactly what he wants when he go: pancakes, eggs, and bacon. His mom and dad are pretty big fans of Westy's, as well, and it's the first place Grandma and Grandpa take him when they're in town. That's the kind of place it is: A casual family place that's good for all ages. It's super not fancy, but the staff is SO NICE. The prices are great, and the food is diner delicious (i.e., not schmancy). We've actually only ever had breakfast food, so I can't comment on the lunch dishes. The atmosphere, the food, and the team are all amazing. My brother and I were visiting from LA and this is the first place we stopped at. Despite the cold, we were greeted with the warmest welcome and great vibes. All of the food we got was great and I couldn't anything less if I tried. NOTE: ORDER THE CINNAMON BUN FRENCH TOAST. I experienced Westy's cafe for the first time last week with my boss. One of the best experiences I've had as of late at a restaurant of any sort. Frank our waiter was super friendly and very attentive. The other two young ladies working had great customer service skills as well. Made sure my coffee and water stayed full. I tried their Italian skillet for breakfast minus the mushrooms, smothered in green chili. So freaking good I went back this morning to have it again. Our family has been eating here for years. We have never had an unpleasant experience. Personally, I do not think the food is the best but I do like the food. The green chili is not authentic and lacks flavor (just my opinion). The rest of my family loves the green chili. However, the service here is second to none. We just love the owners and their staff. I worked at this restaurant in 1978 when it was on 72nd and Federal. I washed dishes there when I attended Westminster High School. The food was good then with large portions and affordable prices. We were in the area and found this on Yelp. We are glad we found it! When we walked up to the door there was a sign explaining they were having credit card machine errors. We almost turned around then but a sweet girl saw us and said they could try. We had cash so we stuck around. We were seated immediately and someone came and took our drink order and gave us menus. There is a huge selection of everything to choose from. I chose the Mexican skillet. Such great flavor. Filled completely full with ham, onions and green chili and perfectly cooked homemade hashbrowns. The green chili was fantastic. Perfect heat. My hubby had the Country skillet. Huge portions, great flavor and hot and fresh! I think my favorite part was the friendliness of every single person who worked there. This little gem appears to be a great place for locals and they knew everyone's name! If you're in the area, check this place out. I don't think you'll be disappointed. I almost don't want to tell people how truly great thus place is. It's like a secret fishing spot that's so great you want tell everyone but you don't because then everyone will go there.
