Before making our way to the Arvada Farmer's Market, we met my mother-in-law at Hunter Bay for much needed coffee! The space is a little makeshift (in that the dishwashing station and other that would usually be behind a wall, is exposed and open) but well laid out and offers a wide variety of seating. We snagged a spot near the entrance, hopped in line to order and waited for our name to be called before enjoying our beverages and pastries. We opted for iced Vietnamese coffees (because YUM) and a house made muffin and cream cheese Danish. The pastries were moist, and the coffee was strong and delicious - just like I like it! If you just want filtered coffee they serve it up in several roasts -- just help yourself from the hot carafes. Coffee was good, my husband got a cold brew. We both ordered bagel sandwiches and imo with the bagel competition out there they left something to be desired. I really appreciated you could DIY your sandwich but every single ingredient cost $$ unless you order a plain bagel with nothing on it. Even to add a sauce was extra. It was truly the okayest. But if I'm being fully honest we really only came for a photo op since my son is named Hunter. Service was good. I like the ambiance & that there was a lot of seating and patio seating. Wow, this is a popular weekday WFH spot. It was super packed 11am on a Friday, and it seems like people really camp out for awhile. Fortunately I found a table at which to enjoy my peppermint oat milk latte and blueberry danish. It would have been more challenging if I visited expecting to find an available electrical outlet for my laptop. When visiting Old Town Arvada recently I stopped by Hunter Bay Coffee for a cup. I'm familiar with this fantastic brand of coffee from past purchases at Sprouts. They're a Montana based coffee company. Moose Drool is a favorite of mine. Sounds gross according to the name. However, it's a fantastic dark roast that will delight your palate. I didn't stay in Hunter Bay after receiving my coffee. However, while I was inside it had a nice feel to it. There are plenty of tables and chairs to sit at while doing work, reading or socializing with friends. The young lady who took my order was friendly nor did she have an attitude about being at work. After ordering and purchasing my coffee it didn't take long to receive it. I didn't order food during my visit so I can't comment on the quality. Just know that they have baked goods to go with your coffee beverage. I would return here if I'm ever in Old Town Arvada again. It's nice knowing that I have this option for a coffee spot in Arvada. First impression is a great one. Located in the heart of old town Arvada, the well lit open spaced seating area, emulates a nice vibe. I was disappointed not to find any sugar free syrups but the Barista recommended their house made vanilla, while not sugar free, it was not overly sweet. Hey a little shot in my cappuccino and life just got a wee bit sweeter! There is a small island table with a large plastic water jug, napkins and plastic ware. I like the custom wood recliners by the window. One is made from skis in the cool Colorado tradition. There is a nice outdoor seating area if your in the mood for a quite sidewalk Chillaxing time under the umbrella. Nice stop after my train ride from DIA & Union Station. My friend recommended this little coffee shop as it is one of the local shops in Arvada. It's located in pedestrian walking area at the corner of Olde Wadsworth Blvd and Grandview Ave. There's only street parking around the area. I got the latte with half vanilla and hazelnut syrups. I got charged twice for the syrups ($0.60 each). Understandable since I'm asking for two syrups, so it was okay. Until I took a sip of my coffee. It tasted only of milk and coffee.... SAD. Where's the syrups I paid for? My boyfriend got the white mocha, and it was more flavorful than my drink. My friend said she usually gets their pandan latte but that drink is seasonal only, and we just missed it. Darn it! Cute little coffee shop that definitely should be supported during these times. I loved this place! I met up with an old friend, and it was surprisingly not crowded for a Sunday morning (but still lots of activity/not completely empty). The wonderful young lady at the counter was so joyful! I ordered a chai latte with oat milk, and they still put a little bit of art on top, which I've never had before, so I was very excited as a non-coffee drinker. They also had four different options of vegan bread (pumpkin, chocolate, something else, and I got the lemon poppyseed) and it was delicious! My friend got a white mocha and a scone and said both were good. After sitting for over an hour, a guitarist came in and started playing live music, but it was very pleasant, not too loud or in your face. Nice views of Old Towne and cute flowers on the table. RIP Arvada Beer Company! Hunter Bay moved in a few years back. Great central location in Old Towne Arvada. I guess Schoolhouse is more central but still it's a prime walking and drive by location. Few high tables against the far wall. Some short tables for smaller and large groups of people too. Weather has not been cooperating lately but you can sit outside and people watch when the weather is warm. Sometimes they have live music. I'm sure they host other events but I've only seen music on previous visits. They have whole beans and ground coffee for purchase. Mugs and assorted other merchandise can be purchased. Even the large bags they receive beans in can be purchased for just $5! Any purchased whole or ground coffee also comes with a free drip coffee. Nice touch! Cold brew on nitro and regular is available. Coffee. Tea. Kombucha. They even have CBD coffee If you're into that. You can also get light bites. Cake, muffins, and donuts. Had an amazing vegan chocolate donut a few visits back. Slightly pricey but it's a nice treat to have a coffee and snack while you read or work. They have a rewards program which is nice. X number of purchases gets you a free item etcetera. Background music too but it doesn't blare like other coffee shops. You can actually work or read here. What I did like: - cool ambience - in olde town Arvada which is a super cute part of town - they have musicians playing often - they roast their own beans -- could be worth coming here for beans, I didn't evaluate that What I didn't like: - the cortado was not a cortado...had too much milk - cortado tasted bland...maybe because of the overload of milk - paper cups instead of glassware. I know that's picky but for me getting glassware is part of the experience of hanging out at a coffee shop. Didn't live up to the local titans of stylus and crate, bardo, and sweet bloom. While waiting for the painting pottery to open, I decided to walk over to this place to pick up something quick to eat and to help kill time. It was quite busy but the line moved fairly well. The place is decent size with a bit of a casual rustic feel. They have patio sitting too. I actually really liked how you can just customize your breakfast sandwich. I got my breakfast sandwich and it was quite surprisingly delicious. It wasn't too small or too big. All the fixings in the sandwich fit quite well. I would definitely come back here again.
