So much to love about this company! No one wants to cut down a beloved tree, but when our old maple finally died, I knew it was time. I found Westside Tree on the Nextdoor app, and I'm so glad I did! Patrick was one of the very first to follow through with an estimate--after too many no-shows from others. He even managed to get in and out of our yard for the bid without waking my dog or my kiddo... serious ninja skills! Patrick was quick to respond, flexible, and worked around our schedule with ease. On removal day, Patrick and his crew arrived right on time--ready to work, even on the hottest day of the year. They were professional, communicative, and impressively clean in their work. My 7-year-old even noticed, saying, "That whole team was really kind, Mom." When they were done, the yard looked exactly as promised--and they even picked our apples and set them aside so they wouldn't be crushed by falling branches. We had Pat cut down two fir tree's in our backyard. One was about 90ft tall and the other about 120 ft tall. He answered his phone and returned my calls/text promptly. He showed up on time. He took the trees down in no time and was very professional. He has all the equipment needed and is very skillful at what he does. His prices are great and very competitive. One of the tree's were 5 ft away from a storage shed and not even a single branch touched the shed. We have another 13 fir trees to cut down because they are ruining our septic drain field.....We will definitely have him come back later this summer for some more tree work. Thanks Patrick! Mr. Clemo, when you came tour my backyard in summer, my next door neighbor Barbara abruptly intruded to ask me "split the cost of her locust tree" that's hanging over my roof. You probably didn't hear her; I can understand. Your appearance that day truly suggested either a hangover or just coming out of a party, but I appreciated the call to inform delay. In fact, you were on my yard again Oct 19 creating a scene. I don't know how can you not aware who I am. My conclusion is that everything coming out of your mouth is questionable. 11/17/2015 update: Yelp wants more October 19 detail for the updated review so here it goes. Patrick Clemo was sent to my yard by a neighbor to work on their long-neglected locust tree. The neighbor gave a 3-hour notice but didn't show up. Within less than 6 minutes on my yard, Clemo instigated a conflict which I had to end by documenting his behavior before hurrying back inside. He was rude, impatient, insulting and refused to provide any related info other than demanding money from me on behalf of the neighbor. I actually did receive a Westside Tree Care invoice the next day from the neighbor for "Clemo's time"! He was openly complaining he doesn't like the neighborhood but later I found out he has an unauthentic address on the website that's exactly the area. There really weren't much interaction within 5, 6 minutes; it felt like he just showed up to create the scene and leave. Various complaints and consequential disciplinary proceedings were filed against Westside Tree Care for safety, ethical and professional issues. Patrick came out to give me a quote on my trees. He showed up with his baby in arm, and seemed Slightly irritated/grumpy. I was in the middle of cleaning dog poop and had not gotten to one section in the yard. He walked to that part of my yard, and as I tried to warn him about the poop he stepped in some. I already felt really bad, but he then went on to reprimand me and told me he steps in dog s#%* every day. He then cursed at me to clean the dog s#%* in my yard and immediately left. I understand being a little frustrated, but for a professional that goes in backyards for a living to be so mean to someone is crazy. It was obvious I had dogs, and he obviously deals with dog poop daily (according to him). I've never had a "professional" treat me like dirt until now. read more

So I admit it, I hate leaving reviews. I am definitely one of those people who leaves a pissed-off review but I have a bad habit of not reviewing quality individuals and their services. Westside Tree Care and Patrick specifically are fantastic. We reached out to him back in January about removing three incredibly large trees from our property. Not only was his quote the most reasonable out of the numerous companies we had come in but honestly he, was the most respectful to deal with. I had several individuals flat-out asked me was it okay for them to speak to me and give me quotes or would I rather have my husband there. Yeah, thanks but no thanks. Patrick is respectful, will answer any and all questions, and will walk you through every single step of what he's going to do. When we had to change direction because the city would not grant us permission to remove our trees, he was able to come in and prune them back to something that I can actually live with. Let me tell you, I hate these trees so it seemed really difficult that just your pruning alone anything was going to happen to make me any happier about still having them on my property. It is three days later, and I cannot believe the difference that printing back these trees has made. We actually get light into our backyard and sunroom now. The trees are still there but they are definitely not as bad as they were are we completely owe that to Westside tree care. Every single surface that Patrick and his associate worked on was completely cleaned up at the end of the day to the point where you would barely know they were here except for a few grains of sawdust on the grass. Our patio was spotless, and there was not a straight twig or leaf or branch anywhere on our property. Patrick and his associate ended up coming back two days later to take down a problem tree at my across the street neighbors. Clearly, anyone who sees him work recognizes that he is a consummate professional of the highest level. My next door neighbor has already asked for his contact information as she has problematic trees on her property. Pat responded very quickly to my estimate request and was able to complete my service on the same day - the top of a neighboring big pine had fallen in the middle of my backyard. He clearly stated what he was going to do - drag the smaller branches to the front of the house for chopping & chainsaw the bigger rounds. I woke up after one of the snowmageddon nights to find several branches from the pine tree in my front yard broken and completely blocking my stairs and the sidewalk. I called a few different tree services and Patrick was the first one who was available to come take a look that day (he even gave me a rough estimate right away, based on some pictures I texted him). I found his estimate to be very reasonable, and I can't be more happy with the results. I think my tree looks much better now. He carefully removed four large branches, and made a neat pile, and came back a few days later (once the snow melted and he could drive the chipper around) to chip everything and clean up. Our house had a very large fir tree in the backyard that tends to have very large branches. I've lucked out in the past with them landing in the yard, but since I could see one hanging it was not worth taking any chances. I gave Patrick a call and he was able to get my way in about a half an hour to take care of the job. They were just fine with me hanging around and watching, which I appreciated and enjoyed. The big branch was lowered safely to the ground and he even cut some other branches that needed it. A warning: do NOT use Westside Tree Care/Patrick Clemo for your tree work. I hired him to take down a very large tree and specifically asked him to leave 8 feet of bare trunk/stump (I planned to use it to hang a vertical herb garden from) and that was written into his bid. It is on paper, in writing, from him that he would leave 8 feet of the tree. He went ahead and took the tree all the way to the ground while I was at work, then told me it looked better that way anyway. Stay away! He does not do what he agreed to do!! read more

Great service! Pat responds super quickly to emails, came to my house for an estimate the next morning, and scheduled us when it was convenient. Great and fair price, answered all of my questions in a friendly way, even if they weren't directly about the job in question. It is obvious that Pat loves his work and is a passionate arborist. Pat and his colleague showed up at the scheduled time on time and were done in less time than estimated. Cleaned up the whole site so it looked better than it started. I had a wide tree that nearly covered the view of the house I just purchased. I knew I wanted to have it removed to give the property a cleaner look. I contacted a few different tree service business requesting an appointment to get someone to my house to give me a quote for a tree removal. Some of the other business wanted me fill out forms or asked me way too many detailed questions regarding the tree. Another business only booked projects two months out. We were working with Pat at Westside to take down a tree in our backyard. They came out, gave us a price, and we arranged a date and time for the removal. I had to rearrange my work schedule to accommodate the date given and they were a NO SHOW. I have the email string that states and confirms our work date but he admitted to making a mistake. In trying to rearrange a different time, we asked about honoring the cost and he became agitated and hung up on us. We returned call wondering if it was by accident but he refused to answer. Our experience with Patrick and his associate Ryan was in line with the other customers. Patrick was the third tree service we contacted and the price was the most reasonable. He was also able to schedule the tree removal for next day. Our tree was a 70-foot tall maple that had rotted out and stood only a few feet from our house. Patrick completed the work shiftly and safely (quoted 6 hours but done in 4). He also spent the time to arrange the debris in the greenbelt behind our yard to blend in nicely with the landscape. Contacted for a quote on two of my large trees a year ago, received prompt reply on Yelp, appeared pleasant. Arrived on the day planned for the estimate pretty late in the evening,I didn't think anyone would show up. Gave a rough estimate after I described the problem with my trees,and then proceeded to offer a larger, more expensive option for trimming one of my trees that would have costed me hundreds more,which I did not want and could not afford.I just wanted the service for what I asked. Said ok, I will receive a follow up with details and such, didn't hear from anyone after that. I found Patrick here on Yelp, and was pleased enough with his work that I'm writing my second Yelp review ever. We had Patrick & co prune all the trees and many of the shrubs at our home in Ballard. We have lots of varied trees and it was a full day job. What I loved: First, Patrick was an awesome communicator. When I originally called him I got voicemail & didn't leave a message, thinking his operation couldn't be very impressive if he didn't have someone to answer the phone. I moved on. Then he called me shortly afterwards, saying "I saw a missed call & wanted to be sure you didn't need help with something." Good hustle. Then he was consistently excellent after that about communicating - about the bid, when he would start, etc. There wasn't a single miss. Second, the work was great. I'm no tree expert so my opinion should be taken with a grain of salt, but we're very happy with the work, and they cleaned up so well afterwards that our driveway and sidewalk were far cleaner afterwards than they'd been in ages. Patrick & his colleague also ID'ed one of our trees as a white fir when we & all the other arborists who have visited thought it was a Colorado blue spruce - so they definitely know their stuff. We also liked their approach to pruning, which really respected the natural shape and beauty of the trees. Third, Patrick was just an awesome guy, as was his colleague Roger. Nice, polite, gracious, humble, and hardworking. Patrick even saved some of the unique cuts of wood for my kids.
