At the same time his charges are fair if not lower than others. Unfortunate event happened at my house with a large tree falling on my house. I would like to give a better review but can not given my experience. Here is the story: I got an estimate, the price was good and I had a couple of options and prices depending on how much trimming of trees I wanted. We agreed on the work and a price and set a date quite a bit out as it was the first appointment open. On that day they were a no show. I emailed and called what turns out to be an answering service. I called the answering a total of 3 times over a couple of weeks. I finally got a call back form Brian who said he had been ill. It happens. We set a date in a few weeks. The date came and the crew arrived on time. Turns out we had not really come to an agreement on the work or price. Maybe we were using the same words to talk about different things. It happens. So to get the work I wanted it was more by several hundred that I was expecting. I was informed before the work started and wrote it off to miscommunication. The work done fairly quickly. When it came time to pay I learned they did not take cards just checks. This was a bit of a surprise but I wrote a check. Later I get a call saying the check is no good as I have bad handwriting. It is true I do but the bank still accepts my checks. I was told I'd have to write another check. I said I would but that it would look the same as that is my handwriting and that my bank is used to it and will cash the check. Brian stated his bank would not take the check. I asked if he tried and he said no he knew they would not. I offered to call his bank and explain so the bank could flag it. But Brian said that would not work. I explained that my handwriting was impacted by a coordination issue but that my checks do get cashed and they can be read by my bank. Brian then indicated that if the check didn't get processed he would immediately turn me over to collections. That all that was on the check was scribbles. I told him I did not appreciate him making fun of my handwriting after I had explained to him that I had a condition that impacted my handwriting and again that the check would be processed by my bank. Brian wanted me to have someone else fill out the check and me just sign it. I explained that I had tried that before and that did result in the check being refused as my bank knows my handwriting and did not consider that a valid check. By this point Brian was clearly angry. Eventually he offered to accept cash and disconnect the tax. I agreed so long as I would get a written receipt, which he refused. Later he sent over an employee who returned my check and signed of on a cash received statement I had written up. The employees were fine and my issue was not with them. My issue was with the way Brian treated me. He was accusatory, quick to anger, and not customer service oriented. This combined with the initial no show and the misunderstanding about the pricing really left me with a bad feeling about the company. read more

When the job was scheduled for several months later, the crew arrived on time at 9:00 am, worked non-stop to completion, removed all debris, and were gone by 12 noon. Bryan and his team do a great job. They are friendly and very hardworking. They have done 3 big projects for us and every time I have been impressed with their work. It is clear that Bryan has extensive knowledge about trees and shrubs and he seems to care a lot about the work he does. Bryan responded to my query with an hour and was at my home the next day to give me an estimate...which he did on the spot. The team showed up a few minutes ahead of schedule and got right to work. No nonsense, no fooling around, and they don't waste time with idle chatter. YMMV, worst communication attitude I had by far from a service company. We got a quote from the company on a weekday and was told they'll follow up with me on the coming Monday to schedule on-site date. I waited till Wednesday and no communication at all. Decided to move on so wanted to let them know so they don't need to squeeze their work calendar. turns out they don't care at all, after I said we decided to not use their service, they just hang up the phone without a single word. good job Elite Tree Care. I'm giving 2 stars for 1) yes they came for quote 2) returned a call after we left 2 voice messages though it's been 2 days since promised follow up timing. I just saw the message together with his reply accusing me more interested in leaving negative feedback. To be fair, I was leaving feedback for what I experienced, whether it's negative or positive, it was the experience I received, or, what you provided. As for the "same day estimate" I believe I called Bryan a few days before my wife contacted him, so if that counts as same day quote so be it. There's a very similar negative review for almost the same reason I have. I'm gonna put the same response here. I get that ppl have times below the line, I hope others can have better experience. Bryan and his crew did cleanup and thinning on a couple of 120ft+ Doug firs and a big cedar that are from 5 to 10 feet from our house. We wanted this work done in preparation for fall/winter windstorm season. They showed up on time, went right to work and did an excellent job! I am giving Elite Tree Care of Everett two stars for their incredibly rude and unprofessional service. I called to schedule a legitimate service call and a man named Brian answered the phone, "hello"... No mention of the company name or that he was glad to take my call, actually seemed quite unhappy about it! I proceeded to explain that I needed some help with a tree and had a few questions for him about schedule availability.. He then grumpily said, "it depends"... Baffled at his response, I then asked him if I was speaking with the owner or someone who is able to schedule calls.. Then he hung up on me. Truly shocked, and wanting to give him the benefit of doubt, I called back and was yet again met by someone who obviously does not care about his professional reputation. It is amazing that in this economy there is still room for operators with poor attitudes and such shockingly poor demeanor. *UPDATE: 12/12/14 - the tone of my review of this company doesn't have anything to do with the dropped call as noted in Bryan's post, but rather his poor attitude and response when I was originally attempting to book his services. I get that everybody has bad days, and that no one is on their a-game everyday, and it sounds like he does have some happy satisfied customers. I recently bought a house surrounded by several big trees that I knew nothing about. The huge wind storms we have been having made me think that I should probably get a professional out to assess the situation. My neighbor recommended Bryan with Elite Tree Care, saying he was the best and straight forward about tree care. I must say that I was extremely impressed with Bryan's knowledge of trees and his easy going professionalism. I expressed my concern about one of the trees leaning and suggested it be taken down, but Bryan assured me it was perfectly healthy and strong, just needing a slight rebalance. After the initial consultation I scheduled an appointment to have the following trees thinned and/or restructured: Spruce, Deadora Cedar, Japanese Maple, Willow, Cedar, Fir. Elite Tree Care was great to work with. I work at UW and I found them through one of our employee programs. Even though they are Everett based, they came all the way to South Seattle. One large pine and an overgrown boxwood were cut down and several trees received some much needed pruning. The work was completed much faster than I thought possible. Bryan responded very quickly to my initial inquiry email and he was a great resource for me to figure out what some of the plants are on the property. While I still have stumps, everything was cut to ground level and most of the debris was able to be chipped. I will definitely go back to Elite Tree Care for any future tree needs. read more

From initial contact to the end of the job, Bryan was professional and knowledgeable. We liked that he worked on the job with his two men. They were punctual and the estimated time for the job was right on. The job involved removing a dying old plum tree, pruning an English Laurel hedge and a viburnum hedge that were out of control with growth. They also pruned two maples, two Hinoki cypresses, two magnolias and a butterfly bush. A professional arborist's work is deservedly costly, but Bryan's quote came in lower than the others consulted. We had 3 diseased birch trees in our yard. I submitted requests via email to a few companies for quotes, and Bryan's response was immediate. It was a very busy season for him, and we scheduled a few weeks out. He showed up on the scheduled date at the exact time he stated. He brought two guys with him, and they were done removing the 3 trees in about 2 hours. They worked efficiently and carefully in a tight spot between the house and the fence and got the job done with no damage to either the house or the wood fence that the trees were hanging over.
