We vetted six different companies before hiring Hemlock (one didn't even think we needed a permit!) and can say we definitely made the right hiring choice. The permitting process with the city was long (about six months), complicated, and occasionally frustration. That said, Brandon, who is obviously well respected and connected in the industry, kept us informed every step of the way and worked so hard to (eventually) get the permit approved. Once we got the permit, the turnaround to getting us on their schedule was so fast and efficient. The crew were wonderful and worked tirelessly; they were extremely knowledgeable, used safe methods, and took great care to protect our surrounding structures. And the cleanup was incredible! Some of the scope of the work they had to be extremely careful due to my net below the trees and they did a phenomenal job. They were safe, efficient and made sure they left no trace behind. We have an above ground pool for the kiddo and the tree also made cleaning a 2-3x chore. The shade was lovely, but the risk of it falling over in a bad windstorm and the upkeep was too much. We received quotes from multiple companies on Yelp and everyone quoted us 3-6x the amount we paid. They had a wood chipper truck I believe it was in front of the house and even used a blower to get rid of any debris. It barely took them any time at all. We had the stump left to make a memorial bench because we got the tree from a loved one that passed. The team did a phenomenal job. Micah, an arborist, and his crew are professional and fun. They cleaned up the areas better than what they were! We even had a Alder tree on neighbors property leaning over our house, neighbor gave them permission in writing, had it down so efficiently. Our huge cedar was limbed fast. Fun to watch the experts do what they love. Saved the rounds to make tables. Told my coworker and neighbor about Pelton and they also had work done. That did not make the cut for winning our bid. My father had his own tree company for years, Z Trees, I went with, helping, so I am a bit particular what I want plus one tree was on our neighbor's property and leaning over our roof.
