If ever you spot a pile of innocuous looking bricks in your yard, my advice to you is: Leave them…read more Or be prepared to start digging only to uncover an entire foundation's worth of brick and concrete underground. My husband and I learned that our backyard once housed two structures -- a garage and a greenhouse -- so it felt like there was no end to the crap we kept unearthing. Some of the brick, we were able to salvage and convert into a fire pit structure. But the rest collected in a huge heap. Additionally, decades-old, rusty, and actually decaying barbed wire and chicken wire fencing had to come down from around the property. What resulted was a HUGE load of junk piled up on our property. For, um, a couple of months. Thanks to Jeff, though, we no longer look like hoarders. He and a crew of about 6 pulled in today to load and haul our debris away. They were very thorough, using rakes and shovels to turn the soil and be certain no bits were left. They even pulled a slab of concrete out of the ground that we had missed. All of this for far less than the sample quotes provided on mainstream junk removal websites. AND they hauled our load (filled to the brim) in one trip, whereas other companies will only fill their truck beds a foot or so, when dealing with brick or concrete material. My only caution: be aware that they don't arrive on a set schedule. I know that this type of work may make it difficult to set an appointment, but when that's the case, most companies are at least good about touching base to give you updates on their estimated arrival time. Our price quote, and the actual work, occurred hours later than we'd anticipated; so plan to be at home for half of a work-day!

I will definitely use this company again if the need arises. Great job.

Horrible customer Service*******…read more I own a local Landscaping company that was contacted by DWG Properties in North Carolina, we are located in Pampa Texas. The gentleman I spoke with Mr. Rick Swinarski, we spoke a few days on the phone, he claimed to be the owner of the company. After some time he offered us 45.00 "tops" to mow the property they "held the contract" stating he couldn't pay any more that they weren't able to be competitive on pricing like that. No paperwork or contracts were signed, we were waiting on plot maps for boundaries before moving forward. I was then contacted 2 days later by the actual company that held the contract for the site. Upon speaking with them they offered us double for the care of the same property. A fair price for the lot size and work entailed. When I told them I was in negotiations with Mr.. Swinarski who claimed to hold the contract. They advised me that Mr. Swinarski did not get the work taken care of in time and they had pulled the contract back from him. That he was informed and knew it was removed from his office. So he had no right to try and get someone to work on it now. After speaking with the other company and being offered what was fair and should have been paid for the lot size and seeing as how they actually held the contract we signed with them. Mr. Swinarski called non stop while I was trying to figure out who actually held the contract and had proof of said contract, it turns out it was not his company. I called him back which I didn't have to, to advise him of what I had learned. He was very angry and rude calling me names, I tried explaining what I had been told by the rightful company who held the contract and that he would need to take it up with them. That i was just the middle man and it was his responsibility not mine to know which contracts he actually held,he started yelling such profanity. It ended with him hanging up on me as I sat speechless, not knowing what had just happened for him the owner to be so mad at me. Telling me he didn't give a f*ck what I thought or said. That I was nothing. So.. at this point I gather my thoughts and called back to advise him that this was not my doing or making had he been more responsible and placed the work sooner it wouldn't have been taken from him. I recorded the conversation this time. Same horrid manner and attitude, same curse words and even more rude. Do not do business with this company, they say they want to be honest and transparent. But he lied about the contract, price and the amount of pay just so he could pocket more.

Working with this guy and his "team" was nothing short of an amateurish disappointment. Meeting in…read moreJune, 2024, the plan was to order 3 pallets of tall fescue sod, which he and his "team" would install for $3000. Not knowing anything about sod or the process, I trusted his judgement. July 12th, he brought 2 pallets of half-dead sod, which he assured me "just needed watering". He tried to charge me $400 for the 3rd pallet (that I already paid for), but after confronting him, he backed off and brought the 3rd pallet a few days later. They lazily laid the sod, applied fertilizer & fungicide, & went on their way. Even with watering 3x a day, the sod died in a month.... He contacts me in September, offering to aerate and overseed my lawn. I found that to be odd, considering my yard SHOULDNT need those services if his sod service was successful. Its as if he knew the half-dead sod he brought wouldn't stand a chance of survival and wanted to way to reach in my pockets again. I told him I wouldnt be using his services anymore, citing my dissatisfaction with his service. This prompted him to pay me an unannounced visit on Sept 12. He walked through the yard, checking his "work" to see my claims were valid. He texts me later that evening, offering to replace the sod in October as a "Christmas gift from Danny's Lawn Care"... Its safe to say, that day never came, and I never heard from him again. Expecting him to turn tail and run, I just decided to purchase some more sod from a reputable company and lay it myself, which I must say, looks amazing! Im proud to know that I did a better job than the "pro"... And in doing the work, it was made hilariously clear of all the short cuts Danny & his "team" took to do this job. In short; From start to finish, Danny just saw me as a quick pay day and tried multiple times to reach in my pockets. He charged me top dollar to then bring discounted, half-dead sod that he and his "team" would lazily lay, hoping to spin the block in a couple month for another quick pay day...

As a former client of Danny's I read the reviews before selecting him. I have no idea who wrote…read morethese reviews because I feel he was unethical, deceitful and dishonest. It is astonishing to me that anyone could have given him a 5 star review. He charged me for 7 pallets of sod, I got 4. Nothing was done in a timely fashion and the materials he used were sub par unless I ordered them and paid for it out of pocket even though the estimate for the work stated the amount of soil to be delivered and from which company. The bark mulch he tried to install was NOT the 12 yards of hardwood mulch---it was nasty, gray in color so it looked old and had bugs in it. I refused to allow it in my yard. I said I wanted him to use the triple hardwood mulch that I had always used from Sands and Soils and then he sends me this nasty, cheap looking dreck.e told me they were very backed up and couldn't deliver it. I called Sand and Soils myself the next morning and asked if they had a back log as Danny had told me. She said well, she could get it to me by lunchtime. I called at 9:30, it was delivered from Sand and Soils, exactly what I order two hours later. So, I felt he was lying to me with this yarn about how he couldn't order from them as they were so "backed up". Everything it's this guy is smoke and mirrors, untruth and excuses. Working with him was extremely frustrating. I had my kitchen and bathrooms COMPLETELY REMODELED in less time and with less aggravation that Danny provided just to re-sod and mulch my back yard. I served him notice this week that we cannot work together because I don't lie, cheat or steal and I don't tolerate those who do.

When the list had several tasks, some of importance, some not so much, I decided to hire a handyman. I submitted the job to Yelp, and very quickly I received several responses. One response was from C & M Home Improvement. We very quickly arranged a visit, and I went over all the tasks with Mark while he took notes. Mark gave me an individual quote for my most important task that was more than fair and I immediately accepted. He literally took care of that task, and a couple of others that very day! I was surprised and very pleased with both the timing and the job that he did. These tasks included, 1) repairing a crack in the plastic roof on my back porch, 2) my drive-through gate would not stay closed, and 3) my gutter downspouts were loose or detached. These are the three tasks that Mark completed that very day. Subsequently, Mark sent me an individual quote for each of the remaining tasks from my list. All were very reasonable, and I agreed. Times were set up for these tasks and they were all completely quick and well. These remaining tasks included 1) cleaning out the attached shed, 2) cleaning and organizing the unattached shed, 3) power washing the patio, 4) installing a chimney cap to prevent squirrels from falling down chimney, 5) staining/sealing the full front porch, and 6) painting the wooden porch railings. For tasks 5 and 6, Mark power washed before applying the sealant and the paint). Mark also suggested that the house be power washed, and the gutters cleaned out. He quoted a price, again very reasonable, and I agreed. I am very satisfied with the work Mark performed and the timeliness. I am thrilled that all the tasks on my list were completed. I particularly liked the reasonable pricing...being on a fixed income in a difficult economy. Each task was completed as I described on that first day, without any further direction needed and without my presence required. Mark is personable, efficient, hard-working, and reliable. I will happily hire Mark again and highly recommend C & M Home Improvement.
