No, no, no; food shouldn't be done this horribly. They don't know how to make hollandaise, I've tasted better from a package mix. Corned Beef hash was old and dry. Hash browns were on the verge of being burnt. Service was atrocious, no refills on tea or water, had to get up and go ask for it. Not attentive at all. How about $6 for a two bite street taco. read more

I just think it's one of our duties as Yelpers to guide others to the best travel experiences and features to ensure outstanding destination visits. The Westside Cafe is one of those travel experiences that visitors to Vail must know about. We've visited Vail every summer since moving to Colorado and dining in Vail has always been the only disappointment of our otherwise enjoyable stays. There really isn't much that's predictably good in quality and relatively affordable for a family of four. With one exception. Before this trip a friend recommended The Westside Cafe on North Frontage Rd. Jackpot!! We were advised to try it for breakfast. Now, getting the family to easily agree on a meal destination is tough enough, let alone something the kids have never tried. It helped that our son is a huge eater and not a McDonald's breakfast fan. Daughter is very fit and health conscious, so a full menu offered her some flexibility. That was the last time there was any doubt or conversation about where to dine. That first breakfast experience secured The Westside Cafe as our "go to" for the rest of the visit. It has a full menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with specials and specialties that provide enough carefully prepared, delicious options for everyone. One of the specialties, and perhaps most important, is their service. This is not at all typical of such a tourist heavy destination. The Westside Cafe has a neighborhood, locals welcome feel and visitors are not exempt. The staff is consistent in guiding, advising and caring about your experience. No mix-ups and no errors on special requests and genuine concern throughout. With such quality in service and food, it's not necessary to go into specifics about menu items. You can be confident in ordering anything that suits your mood. I tried something different every time and was never disappointed. I don't recall a single critical comment from our family during any visit. That's quite an achievement. And it's never happened in Vail. read more

Can't go wrong with captain crunch french toast and tasty bloody mary. A little pricey though, but what can you expect with it connecting to a hotel, let alone being minutes away from Vail Village. I'd pay whatever it takes to get good food though. Don't let the prices scare you away. read more

Our shuttle driver from the Arrabelle recommended it since we were trying to find a place for breakfast that was more laid back. Their french toast is by far the best I have ever had. Westside Cafe delivers on every front and ended up being one of our favorite restaurants in Vail. Excellent food, great value for money and the warmest waitstaff in town. This joint is clearly expertly managed. Every meal any time of the day was delicious and the staff were consistently welcoming and very accommodating. Great coffee, wine, Benedict, roast chicken etc. happy hour is also a cracking deal. 1/2 off appetizers, small plates and great drink specials. Great set up by the bar to watch sports as well. If you're there for breakfast, make sure to try the Benedict w chipotle bernaise - totally addictive!!!!! We have been coming to Vail since 1993 and really never came over to West Side, and did not know what we were missing...This place is simply awesome!! We came here for dinner last Tuesday and liked it so much that we went back there for breakfast the next day. For dinner, we had Black/Blue Burger special and Gyro Spinach Salad with their infamous Bloody Marys, which were perfect. For breakfast, Local Special and Florentine Egg Benedict, which were also pretty darn awesome. Very homey; fantabulous staff; delicious food; reasonable price...This place has been added to our permanent stop when we come back to Vail next time. BTW, we loved their Campfire Coffee Mugs so much that we had to buy some for the family's stocking stuffers!! read more

This place was awesome! When you walk in it has that nice country feel. The service was outstanding and employees were very friendly. The hungry bear breakfast was delicious with nice thick cut fresh bacon. I'm a big coffee drinker and loved every sip. Everything on the menu looked good and made me want to just keep eating. The little not enjoyed her Micky mouse pancakes and hot chocolate topped with tons of whip cream and then sprinkled with cinnamon. The restaurant was the busiest place we have seen on this trip (still no wait tho) and I see why. Were here during the off season so I can only imagine how busy it is in the winter time. Even if we had to wait it would have been worth it. All this good food and it was still reasonably priced. Oh yeah and the home made jelly is amazing!!! read more

We didn't have a chance to sit down because the restaurant was busy and we have to rush elsewhere. We decided to do take out which was fast and convenient. We had Capresse, Crabalisciouis, breakfast tacos, and captain crunch. Everything was delicious. The captain crunch is to-die-for. I can imagine those are even better dining in. Just spare some time before going to Westside Cafe during rush hours. They don't take reservation so you can only put your name in when you are physically there. Visiting from out of town and gave this a try. It was a BIG miss. Side salad had warm greens and the "hot" Chile verde was like warm with five small pieces of overdone pork. Friend had a ramen bowl. Noodles were well done but the overall bowl was like warm and just OK. Severely overpriced and you are better off at any number of other options....like Chile's or Applebee's from our experience. Had dinner one night and went back for breakfast the next day. Good service at dinner our waiter had worked there over 10 years and every recommendation was right on. Really good place! We went for a late dinner on a Thu night in October...we were one of 4 tables but the place is on the smaller side & I can see how it can get very busy. Our order did take longer than expected but whatever. The kids meals were just right--my 5yr old son said of his hamburger sliders "They make good food here!" The salads aren't huge but they're well done--Kale Caesar & the beet salad were fresh & dressings are tasty. The Buffalo wings are the best--perfectly crispy & spicy. The crab cake sliders & lamb sliders are SO GOOD! We ordered light since it was late but the dinner entrees are something I'd definitely return for--seafood pasta, hearty burgers & scratch soups. Solid meal, if I could give it 3.5 stars I would... They serve breakfast all day and not many good breakfast options in Vail. Omelette's and skillets are great. The chicken sandwich is also good. If you like bloody Mary's try them here. Good stuff! One complaint is they get busy during the peak season. read more

Absolutely amazing! Great atmosphere and great food. I had the Dirty Chai (chai with espresso) and the Chicken and Waffles Benedict, and both were phenomenal. The waffles were made with sweet potatoes and then drizzled with maple syrup and a chipotle béarnaise. The perfect combo of sweet and spicy. The first time we came to the Westside we dined in and the food was excellent!! The second time my daughter had just had major surgery so we called ahead for pick up, And drove 30 minutes to our hotel before discovering that not only did they not put the chicken on the chicken Caesar salad but one of the sides to our hamburgers was missing:/ I called the restaurant to let them know, and they said I could come back tomorrow and check pick up my chicken and beans:/ I told him I did not want my chicken beans tomorrow what else could they do for me young man said well come by tomorrow we can probably do something and hung up on me:/ and to be honest if my daughter wasn't having such a rough day I would've driven the extra miles to get some sort of a refund, but decided it wasn't worth it, although A $14 chicken Caesar salad with no chicken and I have $16 hamburger with no side is a little spend he for me:/ read more

Great place to stop and eat. Could be fast or casual pretty much at your own discretion. Good variety of menu items and at 1:00 on a Saturday we had a choice of breakfast or lunch. I had a great ramen bowl that was veggie friendly - ginger grilled tofu and ginger broth with noodles and a variety of grilled veggies and just a little spicy. Husband had an excellent juevos rancheros. Service was polite and friendly. Didn't have to wait for check but also didn't feel rushed. read more

I love cafes that give you that hometown feel, but still provide an elevated dining experience. There are TONS of good options on the menu & if you really feel like a calorie splurge, get the cinnamon roll (plan to share!). Love!! They are accommodating (I usually butcher the meals on the menu to satisfy my diet). Their coffee is tasty and they have lots of speciality kinds, and my husband loves the portions. I have to admit, the bite or two I've had of their GF pancakes, gooood! Enjoy! read more

I've been to Vail a few times but never stopped in to Westside before. How sad am I to now find out what I've been missing! Dinner was soooo delicious! Our waitress was very friendly and recommended the bison meatloaf, so 3 out of 4 persons in my party ordered that. I on the other hand ordered the short rib Mac n cheese. Both dishes were delicious! Best meatloaf ever! My dish was reallllllly good as well. Definitely recommend eating there! The vibe was extremely chill and very welcoming! We will be back again very soon :) read more
