The "camp" on the property of the West Walker Motel.

I've attached a photo of the "camp" on the property behind the motel. There was gunfire last night. But hey - if paying to stay in a homeless camp is your thing this is just the place !

The hotel is located in the town of Walker but Walker and Coleville share a zip code. I'm rating this as a visitor as I never stayed the night here. Some friends of our stayed here at the last family gathering and they liked it. Walker Days was going on in October when we visited there and the hotel had some kind of live music and cookout and the people there seemed friendly when we came to visit. This is more of a motel than a hotel but Yelp has no motel category. The room I saw inside was tiny but clean. It held two double beds, a TV, and a small bathroom. It got the job done. It also had a small 2-seat patio set outside which was a nice touch. Parking is immediately in front of your room in the circular lot. The hotel is close to the general store and gas station in Walker immediately off 395 in the Eastern Sierras. If you're looking for a clean place to lay your head for the night I'd recommend them over the Tocayo down the road. That place gave me the creeps when we went there first. It felt very Bates Motel-ish.

How can you pass this vintage 395 hotel? :)

Stayed here on the way to Reno. The owners were very pleasant on the phone when I called to inquire about rooms and were equally nice upon arrival. That's always a good sign! The rooms are a bit small but clean with new TVs with direct tv to include HBO. The AC works great and the bed was very comfortable. You will hear the cars driving by on 395 but as it gets later they become nonexistent. You may want ear plugs if you are napping during the day. This hotel is a great option just 20 minutes outside of Bridgeport and a perfect spot for hikers needing a break. The BBQ place across the street is ok... Not great but not bad.

My husband brought me here last year for my birthday getaway in October. All the mountain passes are beautiful this time of year. He had already stayed here once for a little rest and relaxation trip. So, we returned again just last week and will make it a yearly birthday trip for me. We stay in room 1 which actually looks like a separate cabin and has a kitchenette. The place has the Route 66 motel feel as another reviewer stated. It is charming, clean and the sister owners are friendly, accommodating and charming as well! Walker itself has some gift/antique shops, a coffee shop, Walker Burger (pick up a Bodie Birdhouse while you are there), a BBQ restaurant across the street and a small market. It is a wonderful place to stay as you travel the 395 highway to explore the lakes, mountains and mountain towns.

As adorably retro and quaint as it seems! Chris, the helpful lady at checkin is great!

Very cute place. We had a small issue with the water that was beyond their control but they made it right.

The Halloween decorations at the office were adorably festive and Steve (who I unfortunately didn't meet in person but spoke with on the phone) is a funny, kind, patient guy. Their dog policy is very generous and my dog loved having a well-maintained grassy area for his private business. The area itself is just stunning and I regretted not booking more than one night but the one night we did stay was peaceful and quiet. My dog and I felt very safe. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable and we hope to make the Andruss our regular stop on any 395 road trips!

The room: plenty of usb and charging outlets, direct tv, WiFi worked well, mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, clean bathroom. The grounds: nostalgic (felt like it was out of the movies), there is a unique lobby filled with board games, small store, outdoor grounds had a fish cleaning station, horse shoe, disc basket, swingset, cornhole, swimming pool, bbq grills, fire pits, an entertainment stage, icebox. So this review had to wait until I could know I wasn't going back very soon. I stayed here for roughly about 3 months straight. It's a nice little family owned motel. It's definitely not the weekly motel vibe that you might get on 4th street in Reno. But a "small town" motel vibe that you might have gotten back in the heyday of motels in new interstates before freeways. There is nothing fancy about Main Street Inn, but if you are in Yerington for more than a potty break, you probably should already understand that there is nothing really fancy about Yerington. This is a town of friendly real people. Not fake city people that plaster on that smile because of some creepy corporate guideline. The town is probably the most welcoming town in all of rural Nevada for me. The office is populated by a bunch of locals filling in the hours. So there may be small spot of time you wont have anyone at the front desk. This is really a mom and pop business. The room I was in for most of my time in town was just right for my needs. Each room has it's own character it seems. Mine had lots of drawers to keep stuff in as well. All of the staff, including the owner was always pleasant and as helpful as possible when I interacted with them. If I could get this good of service at the high end hotels I stay at on vacation, I might never come home! The only real negatives that I can think of are that they don't have great parking for larger vehicles. So that might be a consideration if you have a large vehicle it could be a tiny walk from where you have to park your car. All of the businesses are within walking distance of the Inn as well. I highly recommend Dini's Coffee Shop.

Absolutely amazing accommodation! I'll review on Booking…read moretoo, but since I have the restaurant a poor review, I wanted to give huge kudos to the lodge side. Pulled into town early and they happily accommodated our request so we could reorganize and repack the car for the next leg of our trip. The rooms are CLEAN! I mean, wow. Smells lovely, the baseboards were clean, bedding smelled clean, bathtub was clean, behind the toilet clean. I mean, we travel a LOT. And those are areas that typically get missed. The corners of the room, the corners of the cushions on the furniture-- typically there's build up. Not here! Generous size room. We got a King suite. It's literally a small apartment. Fridge, microwave, couch, chair, coffee table, desk, entertainment center, tv and lamps in the front room. A nice butlers pantry for coffee, fully stocked with all coffee fixings, ice bucket and a counter for making sandwiches. A closet, with dressing bench leads to the small separated bathroom. The primary bedroom is very spacious with full dresser, king size bed and two end tables. Fully floored with luxury vinyl plank it's easy to tell when barefoot and your feet stay clean... that they take pride in ownership for the weary travelers. The ceilings bely the age of the building, but get over it. It's truly a sparkling place to stay and I'd be very proud to call these people (the employees) family, if I owned the place. They're kind, attentive and very informative! We will definitely stay again. And hopefully the restaurant gets an upgrade. If not, the lodge is the highlight of the town and worth a stop every time. Value for money= excellent. Worth the drive to stay rather than stop in Reno? 1,000% Enjoyable experience? You bet. Quiet. Thank you all! We will return.

Some rooms are being renovated but the ones we stayed in were really nice. I would stay here again.
