Pulled into town at 5 to be told there was no power and wouldn't be power until 7. It looked like a planned outage, but we weren't informed until arrival (despite only having a handful of guests there to contact) when it was far too late to stop elsewhere for food etc. 7pm comes and goes and still no power. When we inquired at the desk, a man was extremely rude and hostile. Finally asked the utility crews directly, who were far friendlier. Also there is an aggressively Christian vibe. God Bless on their marquee and loud Christian music blaring in the lobby. The bathtub was extremely weird with the shower head really low. I'm 5'3 and barely fit under it. We also found a used plastic knife in the freezer. The decor is 1980s at the latest, which would be fine except for the sharp edge on the table where the laminate is peeling up. It's the middle of nowhere but I would not willingly stay here again.

    The bed was comfortable.

It's not often I review motels, but I thought Ruby Inn was pretty exceptional. - The bed was very comfortable - Rooms were clean - The towels were folded like Origami figures - The AC was effective on a hot day What more can you want from a roadside motel?

Spent a few nights here. Covid info: -they are currently not doing continental breakfast but will give you coffee -their pool is closed Pros: -Great place if you are coming with your dog. They have a spacious, fenced in, grassy area for dogs. In that space is also a bench and 2-person bench/swing to enjoy. -friendly staff -walking distance to pretty much everything in town -chairs in front of rooms if you want to relax outside -communal grills and seating available -they have maps of what to check out in the area -they allowed us to do a late checkout Cons: -Small pool. More for relaxing than swimming

My husband and I decided to visit Mono Lake on Thanksgiving. When we arrived in Bridgeport it was after dark and we were worried that our large dog would make finding a room difficult. -- Thankfully, a simple google search lead us to Ruby Inn where the staff warmly welcomed us, made local recommendations, and allowed our dog to stay for free. Also, the rooms are extremely clean and well maintained! You can definitely tell this family run business takes pride in the details: Coffee maker and grinder, folding the wash cloths into swans, etc.

Friendly staff. Clean room. Thank you.

395 closed. Stuck in Bridgeport like rest of ski team on the way to Mammoth for a race in the morning. Staff at Ruby Inn are friendly and helpful. They genuinely want to help those stranded at Bridgeport. Hotel room is simple but comfortable. Room is clean. Nothing is broken. We really appreciate spending the night there. Next time we are in the neighborhood, will definitely stay here.

Pet friendly! Hubby and the kids wanted to go to Bodie ghost town, so we decided to stay in Bridgeport. If you are expecting fancy hotels like you'll find in the bigger cities, don't bother coming to this wonderful little town. The folks at the Ruby Inn were very friendly and accommodating. Our room was spotless. We were happy to see a small refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker in the room. There is also an ironing board, iron, and blow dryer. Nice little basket of soaps and shampoo. We were a little leery because our room and was close to the street, but it was incredibly quiet and we slept very comfortably. The pool is teeny tiny, but absolutely perfect for the kids. There is a barbecue area, with a propane grill you can use. Two nice areas for smoking, and a great fenced in dog walking area. Coffee, tea, juice, bagels, pastry, eggs and fruit are available starting at 7:30 in the morning. Wish we were staying longer; this is a cool town, and the Ruby Inn was perfect for us. We are definitely planning another trip when we can stay longer and do more exploring!

We decided to do an overnight to visit Yosemite's high country, the ghost town of Bodie and a few other places along the amazing Highway 395. While in our travels, we've been through Bridgeport several times, and usually stop in town to eat or refuel, we've never stayed in town for a night. I booked the hotel online, which was very convenient. The price was right, and I feel like I got exactly what I expected for my purchase. This location has a lovely park like feel, with single story rooms in the shape of an L around it. It is located right off the main street, and close enough to walk to several food locations. Parking for each room is right outside--which is especially nice. The rooms are modest but clean, with comfortable beds and all that you would need to have a good stay. Some of the furniture was starting to show some wear, but it didn't impact the function or comfort of the space. I really appreciated how friendly everyone at the reception desk was, both in recommending places to grab dinner or breakfast, and also in knowledge about the surrounding areas. The coffee in the morning was also just right.

Motel money spent wisely. At least for my purposes. I got a basic room at this old school motel,…read moreand basic is what I got. But I was surprised at the level of basic. There was a bed, of course, but it wasn't one of those lumpy speed bump mattresses. It was actually very comfortable. I slept quite well during my two night stay. The TV mounted on the wall was small, but it had Directv. I have that at home, so I was familiar with what buttons to push. Only issue was that you couldn't have the door open when watching, as it covered half the TV. I guess that's OK. I should only be watching half as much TV anyway. My room, #22, was very clean. The toilet was sanitized for my protection. The paper seal on the seat assured me of that. I found the seal after having a few beers. I guess that's what it means when you "have to break the seal"! The rest of the room was just fine. The air conditioner worked and it didn't make much noise. I did have an issue with the blinds. For the life of me, I couldn't get the last panel to close properly. It left a space wide enough for stray eyes to look in. A mirror reflected the sight line onto the bed. Which wouldn't be all that bad, but, well, let's just say that because of the way I sleep, it wouldn't be a pretty sight. I hung a towel to mind the gap. Overall, it was a pleasant stay. Quick Tip: Every room has magnetic screens to keep our flying friends out. However, those little buggers are fast and will follow you in. Fortunately, your room comes equipped with a manual insect removal system.
