A+ Experience From the friendly gentleman working the marina and helping people all day with a smile to the helpful folks in the general store, you can tell these people take pride in their work and support each other in business. Clean and well cared for, this is a cool little slice of the eastern sierra that can't be replicated. Keep up the good work and solid selection of tasty beverages! read more

Where to start. Silver Lake Resort is without a doubt the best recreation destination in the June Lake area. Park and enjoy their modern RV park. Eat a great breakfast and/ or lunch in the cafe. Shop in the fully stocked store. Rent a boat and fish on beautiful Silver lake. Stay in one of the beautiful mountain cabins. All this on the 'other' side of the loop! Stop in on your next Sierra trip. read more

We stayed here this past July and absolutely loved it so it has become my regular as I'm on the list to have a cabin. Every July staff is friendly. The lake is just literally right across the street and the café. They're on side is great. Grrat place to take a family. read more

We were very excited to stay at a resort in the Sequoia Nat'l Forest. We had reason on call the morning of our arrival to ask a question and in the conversation, it was mentioned that the Creek Side cabin allocated to us had no electric & shared bathroom facilities were close by, but not in unit. A member of our 70's + group needed electric for a cpap and we indicated that lack of electric was not indicated to us in any correspondence and since it is labeled as a 'resort', never occurred to us that we would be staying in such rustic accomadations. They did run an electric cord to the unit from the bathroom so were able to fix the issue. We arrived after 9p and the office was closed with instructions on our cabin location. Fortunately, we saw the electric cord snaked across the road otherwise, not sure in the pitch black were would have found it easily. Without electric, entry into the unit was with camera flashlights and in the near darkness, difficult to see how to operate the gas lantern the wall, there are instructions, but only visible in the morning light. There is a gas stove and gas refrigerator in the unit, but no hot water and of course, no fans. Thankfully and much appreciated, was the provided coffee and french press. They did provide basic amenities such as soap and shampoo, towels, etc. If you stay in this unit, there is no screen on the slider, so had to keep it closed to prevent the mosquitos and forgo any cool evening breeze. Bring your own curtain to over the slider as the sun will brighten your morning. We unfortunately had awaken the cabins in the vicinity with the smoke alarm that was located directly above the stove so that the cascade of alarms erupted in the unit when cooking anything other than water. There is a charcoal grill with charcoal available for purchase and a lovely fire ring with stacked wood and matches provided for the gas lamps and outside stoves. If staying in the cool season, inside is a wood stove with wood provided. If staying in the warm season, good luck. Hot as heck during the day until the evening cools temperatures down. As this was our first time to the area, the 21 mile drive up to the resort from the main road was a torture of switch backs. In our call, they did mention the road was winding and would take 90 mins to travel the 21 miles. What we didn't realize that that the entrance to the National Forest area we were interested in going to would mean a trip back down the 21 miles. We had a leisurely breakfast and for one member, was so nauseous from the switch backs, had to stop several times along the way down. Don't eat a heavy breakfast if leaving the camp if prone to nausea due to the weaving of the road. The camp (can't call it a resort) is lovely and we were all campers in our day so made it work. However, our bladders couldn't make it all night and navigating the dark to the rest room was really a challenge. Had we a better sense that we were staying in more of a camp site, then we could have prepared better. The fortunate call in the morning to understand our accommodations provided an opportunity to gather some food and supplies, otherwise it would have been a miserable few days. The folks at the front desk were very accommodating when we needed anything and I have to give them 5 stars for their service. read more

I love Silver Lake Resort. The cabins have great quality, the Silver Lake Cafe is one of my all-time favorite restaurants, general store has a great stock for whatever you might need. We had THE BEST TIME with our little fishing boat rental! I can't say enough about this experience! How can you go wrong spending $55 for an afternoon of pure fun??? This bustling General Store has everything you can think of! Snacks, groceries, pre-made yummies, amazingly great cheese selection, fishing supplies, boat and kayak rentals, and Cactus Cooler! Like, when was the last time you had a Cactus Cooler???? Nothing screams summer like downing an ice-cold soda under a shady pine tree, looking up at the Sierras from a dirt trail next to an unbelievably beautiful lake. Sorry, got a little sidetracked. Back to the boat! So easy to rent, only fifty bucks for the entire afternoon! The views from the middle of the lake are epic, y'all. There's a ton of shoreline to explore, a little island that's only a little spooky, and some damn fine fishing! Gets a little windy at the end of the day and we were so glad we weren't on kayaks at that point lol! This place is a GEM and should not be missed : ) read more

The cabins are nice but hard to make reservations since they hold for prior guests. The little cafe is quaint and has great food.

I was in the RV side of the resort. The location is awesome for fishing and enjoying the outdoors. The people are incredible. Very nice and helpful. They treated me in my first visit like I will be returning each year. I hope I can. Breakfast in the restaraunt is awesome. Good tackle offering in the store. The boat launch is easy. Boat rental is very good and reasonable. read more

I've had the pleasure of eating at the Silver Lake Café many times, but this past weekend was my first time in staying in one of their cabins. I was very excited about my visit. The resort is very popular, and as such, securing a reservation can be a challenge. My comment is "don't give up, keep trying to make that reservation". You won't be sorry. Everything about our cabin (#12) was extremely neat and clean. All facilities are so well maintained that they appear to be new. The stove, refrigerator, oven, sink area ..... clean, clean, clean. The bathroom was the same. Bedding was awesome. The owners and staff are absolutely top notch. Very helpful and extremely nice. The couple that are the owners are wonderful. Talking to them is like dealing with your friends. So much joking and laughter. Bottom line ...... 5 HUGE STARS for Silver Lake Resort. read more

I'm so grateful the cafe opened! All last week, I was monitoring the resort webcams to see how the smoke was.. Never occurred to me the reasoning not seeing any cars or fishermen.. just thought they weren't here because of the smoke.. So as we were eating a late breakfast.. we mentioned how it was empty of anglers... Our server informed us the fishing was closed! They closure was extended for another week?!?!?? I had my heart on fishing there, and then further down to Mammoth, and Bishop! Darn!!!! At least we were able to support the cafe and eating a very nice breakfast! It's not the resorts fault.. read more

Lake and people nice, but the fish and wildlife agents prey on fishermen by not posting that the stream is closed during the first few weeks of trout season. They watch you walk down an unmarked path then they grab you' B.S. justifying your job that way. Never going back. read more

So happy we were able to rent a kayak here to enjoy amazing views of the Ansel Adams Wilderness! We were camping for a few nights at June Lake and visited this place thanks to our intrepid Yelp East Bay CM Emma W. Saw the beautiful photo she posted on Instagram and just had to see it for ourselves. We just happened to have had a campsite reservation here a week after her stay in the area. The kayak rental was very reasonable and it wasn't too hot yet, so we rented a kayak for a couple of hours. The staff member who helped us with our rental suggested we head towards Rush Creek to get a better workout as we'll be going against the current. So glad he recommended it. The scenery was pretty spectacular from there too. The waterway got a little narrow in some parts but we were fine. After kayaking, we rested and ate our ice cream by the picnic table by the little beach area. They have a well stocked store and a very clean restroom with flush toilets. The resort has an RV park and there is a campground lakeside, but the place didn't feel crowded. I think everybody was at June Lake where our campsite is. The water is colder and deeper here than June Lake so I can see why this place wasn't overrun with people. I wouldn't mind coming back here next summer. Perhaps stay in one of their cabins and the hubby can fish in the lake and we can kayak again here. The resort is at about 7600 ft, so if you're sensitive to elevation, best to stay and acclimate at a lower elevation first. read more

This review is only for the shop. I've never stayed at the resort but it looks adorable. Went into the shop to sign in for lunch at the cafe and was really impressed with the selection. Great grocery section, tons of cute hats and other merchandise. And the fishing gear! Holy Toledo! I took a pic because I felt like a kid in a candy store! All of the little tubs of power bait and salmon eggs lined up in this very organized way. All were labeled appropriately. Who knew there were so many types? (fishermen, obvs) So my 21 year old nephew text me a list of things to get. Panther martins and Thomas buoyants etc, and I felt so lost! The girl on the computer looked pretty busy, but I asked if she could help me and she did. I know that sounds simple, but in this day of crappy customer service, it's so nice when people are happy to help! She just immediately stopped what she was doing and guided me to exactly what I needed. It was so nice to feel taken care of in such an easy going and positive way. Checking out was just as friendly and easy. At this point there were 3 or 4 people behind the counter, all smiling and helpful! Must be the owners and family, as the one kid was too young to work! Anyway, paid for my gear and left a very happy customer. Thanks guys!! read more

The staff at the Silver Lake Resort is excellent. They do everything possible to ensure your stay and vacation experience is of the highest standard. This was my first visit to the Silver Lake Resort. We checked in at noon and got everything set up. The slots are close together but I thought it was quaint. We met many new people within the resort. We came for Memorial Day weekend. First of all the location is absolutely beautiful. No one can deny that. When we made the reservation the documents they sent to my home states "please arrive by 6 pm, no one is allowed to park after dark" The wording appears that they just want you to park before the sun goes down. The note should read "no one will be allowed to park after 6pm" We drove over 7 hours to get there. When we arrived at 7 pm there was a lot of light (sundown was at 830) We were told we could not park in our space because their policy was that someone had to guide me into the space. Since our camper was not set up for boon docking we had to drop our camper in their lot, and find a motel for the evening. When we checked in the morning I was told "just go ahead and park" when I asked if we needed a spotter he replied "no, just go ahead" so the first person I talked to just lied to me. When I asked about this policy and stated it did not say this on the documentation they sent to me the rude gentleman snatched the paperwork out of my hand and started to raise his voice to me about it. The day before we left another rude employee knocked on our camper door and just stared "you have an outstanding bill to pay before you leave" (they have my cc on file from when I made the reservation) I cannot deny the beauty of the place, you are packed in like sardines but they will move your camper into a parking spot with a forklift if you ask them to. However I will not return simply due to the rudeness of the staff the lying and the complete disregard of customer service at this campsite. read more

Lets see... The Cafe: There definitely is nothing to rave about. You get what you expect, a home cooked breakfast. I ordered the Silver Lake Special (I think that's what it was called), which consisted of eggs, pancakes, and a meat. Everything was cooked perfectly. My only complaint was that the syrup was extremely watered down. Besides that, everything was "A-Ok". I would definitely give this place another try next time I am in town. The Shop: Not the most knowledgeable people behind the counter, at least with me. We went here twice and both times, two older ladies were behind the counter. I inquired about the fishing at Silver Lake and they couldn't help me out. They asked another older man that was helping them out but he did not seem interested in helping me. We ended up renting a 16' aluminum boat with motor for 12 hours for only $41! That probably was the only good thing they had to offer me. read more

Really looking forward to going to the cafe as locals said it was the place. Had to wait no problem but when two other couples come in after you and get served first. Not good. Our food was served cold and not much flavor by any means. Not worth the wait and would try Tiger cafe in June Lake before this over rated dive. read more

This review applies to the RV park only. The RV park has full hookups at every site, but don't expect any personal space near your camp, the spaces are crammed together. The managers were also kind of rude. We pulled in late (9pm) and we're not able to check in because no one was in the office. They knocked on our door at 8am to kick us out for not registering the night before, even though we had a reservation. Funny story though, when the person who reserved our space the next day canceled, they invited us to stay a second night. NOPE! We moved on to greener pastures. If you come here in the off season, this is probably a great park. The location is great. read more

This place was awesome. Booked it on a whim for the night and the kids had a blast. We love the trout pond and the proximity to the lake. Hook ups were nice to have as well. The check in staff was friendly, to use the showers it's a $20 deposit for a key. That was kind of a turn off for us from giving it 5 stars. Also liked that they park the trailers for you. read more

This year we got to see a real treat thanks to the recent record-breaking (and drought-busting) winter and resulting snowmelt in the region: a huge picturesque white waterfall cascading down the cliff just South of the Silver Lake Resort. The runoff was so abundant this year that it overflowed a large portion of the meadows near the lake; we heard that many people were taking advantage of this rare opportunity to use their kayaks and paddleboards to explore the area in a way they couldn't normally. The Silver Lake Resort general store and cabin grounds has a lot of old-world charm (it just celebrated its 100th anniversary last year). They have always had great customer service and although we couldn't stay there this year, they also have gorgeous cabins. The best part, in my opinion, is the amazing trout pond where your little ones can actually hand-feed the huge fish. Kids (AND adults alike :P) really get a kick out of this and you can actually even pet some of the big fish (who are clearly babied and pampered, the stars of the resort, with their own protected "no fishing" pond) as they swim past the edges hoping to gulp down a bit of the fish pellets sold by the general store. read more

First, It ain't about the "resort". They have an array of cabins here in varying degrees of rustic-ness if you wish, but what this place is really about is breakfast at the cafe. Inside the little General Store - something right out of the fifties in all respects; and I mean that in the most loving way possible - and to the back is the entrance to the cafe. A small place; six or seven tables and a long counter, you're almost sure to have to wait to be seated. Coolest little lakeside cafe ever! Breakfast worth the 30 - 40 minute drive from Mammoth...I'm not kidding. Big eggs, omlettes, fluffy pancakes, fine hash browns, damn good coffee, friendly service in a rustic, wood-paneled room. Windows look out across the road to the lake. Really nice food and really great memories to savor later when you aren't there any more. read more

My guy and I just had breakfast here. I ordered the Miner's Special - Eggs, sausage links (you have the option of links or bacon), breakfast potatoes, toast, a slice of watermelon. I was very very very happy with my meal. I loved the breakfast potatoes (pink potatoes seasoned with black pepper, salt, and i believe a tad bit of garlic). My boyfriend ordered the Silver Lake Special - Eggs, bacon (you have the option of links or bacon), jackflaps (aka pancakes), and a slice of melon. Unfortunately, the maple syrup was too watered down. Food - Very tasty! I'm coming back for the breakfast potatoes. Ambiance - i loved the view of Silver Lake as I enjoyed my yummy breakfast. But i definitely have to say that this place is really small. There's one host and one waitress. You come in thru the Silver Lake Store, and inside you will find the entrance to the Cafe. Right before you enter the Cafe, on the right hand side is a sign in sheet (you sign in with the number of guests in your party). Customer Service - Nice servers. Cleanliness - Not too much to say about it, everything seem to be clean. Would i come back ? Yes read more

Silver Lake Resort has the best breakfast in the June Lake Loop. A great view of the lake while you dine is a big bonus. A fantastic place all around. I stayed in the cabins, they were clean. The staff are all friendly. For lodging, Silver Lake Resort has the best location on the loop. You are steps from beautiful Silver Lake. Throughout the resort there are small creeks and a small lake loaded with huge trout that you can feed. Great to sit on your porch and watch wildlife pass by, great bird watching. The general store has everything you may need, from beer to ziploc bags. They also sell tackle and souveniers. If you are looking for a place to stay or eat, this is your #1 choice. Likewise, if you are looking for a place to camp, check out the Silver Lake campground across the street. Great location. read more

No complaints. Stayed at the "Resort" in our 5th wheel for 7 days. Met wonderful people who just wanted to see our boys have a blast. The staff was extremely helpful and went out of their way to accommodate everyone they came in contact with. The "Resort" has a pretty healthy set of rules, but they weren't over the top. The facility as a whole was spotless! We will be going back. As for the Cafe, the food is always good and reasonably priced. I highly recommend eating breakfast here. read more

This is the best place to eat, sleep, or fish in the Eastern Sierra's! We usually head up there for the trout fishing opener on the last Saturday of April. The cabins at this resort are excellent, especially "The Creek House", our personal favorite. We have also had the opportunity to use the RV park, which has full hook-ups and is a little tight on space, but still does the job. There are plenty of magnificent views from Silver Lake resort, especially on a clear night, when all of the stars make themselves available. They have a community fire pit area, where every one hangs out and brags about what fish they caught, or almost caught. It does get quite cold there in the winter and is usually closed from December through April due to snow. The summers there are beautiful and quite busy, especially when it comes to the cafe there. Whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner your craving, this is the place to be! The general store in the cafe comes in really handy when in need of that forgotten toothbrush, some cold beer, or when just simply looking for a cool souvenir to take home. Gary and his family do an excellent job of running this place! They are very attentive and easy going.
